They do a great job taking the movie Dumbo that Disney did and adapting that to a little book. The artwork is right from the movie. It’s a sweet story about taking your differences and making them work for you, if you can only accept them.

Any Disney fan out there will enjoy these books as it really reminds you of the movie. I love the scene with the crows. They are some of the best. The kids have never been Dumbo fans. We did see the movie remake they did and it was good, maybe even better, but it’s not not a beloved story for them.

My love of reading started when i was young, and it gives me immense pleasure to provide books to Spread the Word Nevada, an organization that passes them on to children in the community. They are a terrific organization supporting an important cause. If your local I encourage you to check them out. For those living further a field, look in your own community, their may already be a similar program in place. And if not, you can always help start on.

Myself, I go out on the weekends and
shop thrift store and bulk book lots to rescue books and donate them. Sometimes I'll find a book I remember reading when I was young and will read it again before passing it on.

I don't rate these books using my normal scale, instead I give most of them three stars. This isn't a Criticism of the book, simply my way of rating them as good for children.

When I pick up this book, it reminds me of my Grandmother and how she would read this book for me EVERYDAY because it put a smile on my face. I will always remember this book because it holds a connection between me and my Grandmother that'll never be broken.

Dumbo,
I wish i could give it 5 more stars. This book is such an amazing read. It grabs you from the beginning. The beautiful pictures/graphics really bring it home. This bpok touches on so many things, a mothers love, accepting unforseen situations as well as accepting yourself no matter how different you may seem from everyone around you. A beautiful story told in such a grab you by the heart strings way. Read this book, it will really stick with you long after you turn the last page.

I love this book! It can teach children so many lessons such as to embrace our differences. It can also teach children if you believe and put the time and effort into something then the outcome will be better. Dumbo is a classic tale that can relate to children for many generations to come. This would be a great book for younger students to start learning about counting because on many of the pages you can count the number of animals.

I just can't get past the scene where Dumbo's mother gives the bully the spanking he "deserves." No child deserves a spanking.

This fairy-tale version of Dumbo adapted by Teddy Slater tells of the baby elephant Dumbo not fitting in with the circus herd of elephants because of his big ears. If you've read the book and seen the movie, you can tell there are some places where some scenes were cut due to them not being appropriate scenes for the children it was intended. It opens up with the Crane delivering Dumbo and that his mother, Jumbo thought he was perfect and there was nothing wrong with him until the elephants of her age started picking on him and saying things around her that made her upset since he was perfect to her. After Dumbo's mother is locked away, he meets a little ringleader mouse named Timothy, who plays a big role in helping Dumbo embrace his differences and be who he truly is. I believe this book was about accepting people for their differences and not making fun of them for the features they were born with. While everyone is taken aback by his ears, they learned to accept them as a part of Dumbo and see how magnificent and rare an elephant he is. It was genuinely a really cute book that I would pass down to my children in the future if they end up loving the movie but can't watch it before bed, I could read it to them instead. Its underlying meaning of accepting people for their differences and oddities will get you much further in life rather than hating on them and picking on them. you never know what someone is going through behind closed doors. These Little Golden Books are modified and drawn perfectly for easy comprehension by kids and adults reading them. Sometimes these books are what make the child realize their love for reading and then start reading these on their own. I remember when I was younger I read the adaptions of Bambi and The Lion King, I was entranced by the art of my beloved Disney characters rather than the same animation I had watched over and over again as a child. It made me get into art and books with more in-depth stories and lots more words. I feel like many kids started reading most of the same things and either continued their love for books in bigger novels or stopped reading because some kids just don't like to. I would recommend this book and any of the Little Golden Books to parents who like to read stories before bed or just for fun throughout the day. They teach our children very valuable lessons as well as enhance their reading abilities with a short story built to keep their short attention spans for a minute or two.

**SPOILER ALERT**
This book is so relatable. Dumbo is a young elephant with an abnormality - he has humongous ears!
All the other elephants in the circus made fun of him. On his first day in the circus a couple of boys teased him and his mother (Ms. Jumbo), being overprotective, tried to scare the children away. The circus master kept her locked up! This kept them separated. But Dumbo unlocked a new power - the power to fly!

A truly enjoyable read!

Yours truly,
Ahana:)

The classic Story Dumbo by Walt Disney is about an elephant that is unlike the others in more ways than one. Dumbo was always teased for having big ears and was embarrassed of himself. The only people who supported him and loved him were his mom and his new friend Timothy Mouse. It isn't until after his friend helps him believe in himself that he discovers a hidden talent of flying that makes him famous and loved by many.

Dumbo is a classic childrens book. It teaches kids how to deal with people teasing them and making them feel bad for the way they look. More importantly it teaches them how to ignore those people who tease them and instead of feeling bad learn to love themselves who they are and shine!

How can one not like Dumbo? It is a great story of an elephant that was different. I think it is a great story to have in the classroom.

Dumbo was a very small baby circus elephant who had very big ears. His ears always got him into trouble, but then he was made a circus clown. One day he discovered his ears helped him fly, which made him the star of the show.

While some elements are problematic in hindsight, I do still love the movie and this Little Golden Book is a great little adaptation of that tale. I've always loved Dumbo.

This book always made me sad when I was a kid, I didn't really like reading it. It has a good life lesson to never give up and kept trying but it was never one of my absolute favorites.

This book is about a little elephant named Dumbo. He has big ears and everyone makes fun of him. One day, Dumbo realizes he can use his big ears to fly. I love this story. I would use it to teach about how to use our imperfections for good.
