SHE NEVER KNEW WHAT HIT HER

About the author

Maura Seger

75 books30 followers
Maura Seger was born in 1951. She and her husband, Michael, met while they were both working for the same company. They married after a whirlwind courtship that might have been taken directly from romance novel. She credits her husband's patient support and good humor for helping her fulfill the lifelong dream of being a writer.

Published since 1982, Maura Seger is a prolific novelist, who also wrote under many pseudonyms over time: Maeve Fitzgerald, Anne MacNeill, Jenny Bates, Sara Jennings, Laurel Winslow, Laura Michaels, Laura Hastings, and Josie Litton. She used different pennames to re-invent herself.

She is happily at work on a new novel, because she finds that writing each romance is and adventure filled with fascinating people who never fail to surprise her. When she isn't writing, she keeps busy homeschooling her two children and thinking of new stories. She lives in New England, USA, with her husband, children and menagerie... mostly.

There wasn't much going on here. I kept "waiting for some big shoe to drop" to give it that high level angst that I love in my romances, but nothing ever happened.

Boy meets girl. Boy has girl (who happens to be a virgin) flat on her back within 3 hours of meeting her. Of course, she gets the morality wakeup call, two minutes before he wants to complete the act and she starts screaming. He's pissed as hell, calling her all kinds of names; tease, slut, bi$%#... (Okay may not bi#$%, but I know he was thinking it)

Fast forward a few weeks later, and hero can't seem to get the little tease out of his head. So he decides to manipulate her into taking a great job working for him. This way he gets the goods and a really good employee. The sexual attraction is still there. At this point the book is all about sex, page after page. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind sexual content, but I would prefer a story to go with it.

They date, they have sex,. They eat, they have sex. They cook lovely dinners than they have sex. They take his kid to the movies, than they have sex. They sleep together, than they have sex. They ride horses, than they have sex. Get my drift?

They marry. I'm not sure if they have sex, because it's The End.

If you like a book filled with vanilla sex, than this is your dream. If you happen to want a story to catch your interest, I would recommend a pass.

Plot consists of one bedroom encounter after another. Not worth the time it takes to read.
