A Dying Wish

With his devastating grin and suave manner, Jake caught Beth MacKenzie's eye right away. But a night of passion was soon followed by a broken heart—what felt like love at first sight, now felt like a foolish mistake. But headstrong Beth was resilient, and her spirits soon lifted, leaving her eager to fulfill the duty she inherited from her father. She would take on the responsibility of completing his railroad contract, laying track all the way from Denver to Dallas. However, she couldn't have foreseen the obstacles that lay ahead.

Fulfilled

Jake Carrington was back, and this time he was after more than just the lovely redhead's heart. He, too, had made a promise. Jake had sworn to seek revenge on the MacKenzies for the railroad contract Beth's father had stolen from his family years before. As the owner of the Lone Star Railroad, Jake would do whatever it took to get his hands on the MacKenzie railroad project, including convince Beth to marry him. Two promises had been made, and only one could be kept. In the untamed heat of Texas, it could not be long before desire overcame reason...and love overcame even the most passionate rivalry.

This is the only book I have read in this series, I bought it at a used book store not realizing it was a series, I loved every second of it, you don't have to read the others to know what is going on. I want it in ebook. Have read my paperback copy at least 5 times.
