I especially loved the story about the woman who tries to sell her husband to the devil. Besides the Irish charm and the folk wisdom, this offers a fascinating look into the combination of pagan superstitions and Catholic theology. In the last story we have St. Patrick baptizing the dead heroes of Ireland! I'm sure there's a doctoral thesis in there somewhere...
