Michael Bond, CBE was an English children's author. He was the creator of Paddington Bear and wrote about the adventures of a guinea pig named Olga da Polga, as well as the animated BBC TV series The Herbs. Bond also wrote culinary mystery stories for adults featuring Monsieur Pamplemousse and his faithful bloodhound, Pommes Frites.
Out shopping, Paddington Bear spies a very tall clown, so tall he doesn't need a ladder to display a poster up high! And the poster is about the circus, coming to town for only one day! Paddington is enthralled and happily discovers the family has tickets! At the show, helpful Paddington ends up in quite a mess but at the same time, entertains the crowd. I guess one can say Paddington can do a lot of things, not only when he doesn't plan them. It's another older book discovered at my used bookstore, a new-to-me story about this beloved bear.
Paddington is such a sweet curious bear living with humans. In this book he learns about the circus, and is 'helpful' to the performers as well. Colorful and fun, and my baby was very interested in the illustrations.
Paddington Goes to the circus with his friends. It's his first time at the circus and he enjoyed it too. Books plot was good and the characters brought the book to life.
This is a larger sized and fully illustrated book for children and the young at heart adult to read. The illustrations are so cute and fun to look at which was my motivation for reading them in the first place! Paddington is adorable in this series of books for kids who are advancing with their reading.
In this adventure Paddington is excited to hear that the circus are in town for one night only and Mr Brown has got them great tickets. The sights and sounds are very exciting to a bear but when he sees the man on the trapeze,he thinks that the man is in trouble and Paddington is just the bear to try to lend a paw!
Paddington at the Circus The Browns take Paddington to the circus for the first time and there’s excitement in the air. Only when he gets there, he finds himself flying the friendly skies when caught up in a trapeze act.
My Thoughts: This book just made me think about all the times I went to the Univer SOUL circus and the Ringling Brother and Barnum Bailey one’s over the years with my family. Added by the Paddington charm and shenanigans.
Paddington Bear and his adoptive human family go to the circus. It's a first for Paddington and he doesn't understand about the clowns being so tall, or the acrobats doing their stunts. As usual he gets himself into some mischief out of wanting to help (when help wasn't needed) A cute little story about a lovable bear.
This was a cute story, and I liked that it wasn't predictable. I wish that I hadn't had to rush through it, so I may re-read this one to fully appreciate the illustrations. I had never read a Paddington book before, so this has piqued my interest in reading the earlier books someday and maybe even watching the movie.
This is the original version of "Paddington Bear at the Circus". The story is the same but in the updated version the dialog is snappier, the illustrations have more detail, and the action hangs together better - this one is dull by comparison.
Silly Paddington Bear gets caught up in the acts during a circus show and ends up being one of the funniest attractions. Longer story good for grade 1+
This was a read aloud for our tea time. I enjoyed the story as much as my kids, it was humorous and had lots of moments wanting to know whether or not Paddington would be ok. The pictures were bright and colorful and went perfectly with the story.
The circus came to town and Paddington bear and the Browns have front row seats to it. Paddington bear is super excited until he sees the trapeze artist struggling and he was off to help. The circus is all messed up not but it was saves by Paddington bear's amazing performance.
