Alison Uttley (17 December 1884 – 7 May 1976), née Alice Jane Taylor, was a prolific British writer of over 100 books. She is now best known for her children's series about Little Grey Rabbit, and Sam Pig.
How Little Grey Rabbit escapes from being kidnapped is awesome! As ever the sweet tale teams up nicely with the detailed pictures. Obviously what gets stolen from the other animals by the weasels is important, but I was waiting for my favorite bunny to get kidnapped! How it happens is super exciting, she ends up being the weasels' Cinderella, as they won't let her go and forces her to do what she's good at, keeping house. She's so sweet natured that she doesn't fight back, but help does reach her.
I'm not going to spoil the end for you, but it was highly unexpected as I thought Little Grey Rabbit would win them over and make them want to be good, but that's not how it happened. It's an ending that made me laugh despite the circumstances, making it possibly the favourite Little Grey Rabbit book to date.
