This was actually pretty good. The basic premise is the one of a mystical girl (Girl of Water) that some bad guys want for her blood so they can awaken the 88 beasts. Lone swordsman is bound to defend her. A lot of action once it gets started, though some of the frames in the layout can get a little convoluted; it means you have to read a bit closely. However, the pace of the book is quite quick. I will certainly be looking for volume 2 of this series.

On a side note, even though the volume itself is labeled as "Older Teen 16+," the bookstore in town where I bought it had it wrapped up with an "M" (for mature label). Other than one brief nudity scene and a very brief sex scene (which is mostly implied), I think most older teens will be fine with it. Overall, for an action manga, this one is pretty good.

Yet another close-your-eyes-and-say-lalalalalalala becuse this is even more mature than Vassalord. If I knew what was in it before I started to read it I would have never read it. Heed the ratings! This is definately for a more mature audience tat least 18 years or older!

The plot seemed to be a bit all over the place. When I got bored, I flicked through the pages and saw some boobs. I think that was the most exciting part of the book. The characters and story just didn't hook me.

I only ever read the first volume of this series, but I've been meaning to continue it for ages as it was pretty damn good as far as I remember.

This had a solid premise and featured some interesting action sprinkled throughout the story. Overall though, it wasn't all that memorable. It's only been a few days since I finished the volume and I can't remember much about the characters. I don't think that I'm inclined to continue with the series, but it was a decently quick read at the time.

Unnecessary explicit content. Confusing action and violence with little reasoning why. Too many characters and no explanation as to who they are or how they relate to the two main characters. I was unsure until the end of the book if the MMC was hunting down the FMC to protect or to take advantage of her powers.

Think reincarnated people with massive magical powers meets one high school girl that they are all brawling over because she can control water...

Nice art. Okay storyline. Probably won't continue it personally, but I can totally see why others would love this one.

Found this in a rapidly expanding manga section at my local store. The plot could be muddled at times but I did feel for the main heroine who is reluctantly pulled into the mess the series is trying to show. I do like the artwork, though like I mentioned the plot at first was a lot to take in.

I really love the art here. Every page is high quality, with strong contrasts and detailed backgrounds.

just not for me, too gory and graphic. *Btw seems like adult woman forcing teen girl to sleep with her = so, so many things wrong with that!

He had never before faced an opponent worthy of his blade... She had never before been forced to see the world kept secret from history... Now that their destinies have led them to meet at last, nothing will ever be the same...
In a modern world where people know nothing of the monsters that lurk under their beds, there is another race that looks like people, but they are not entirely mortal. They call themselves the Itsushi, or rather, the Forgotten, those that were erased from history. All of the Itsushi are looking for the Girl of Water. There is an organization that wishes to use her blood to revive the 88 beasts and bring the end of the world. Then there is Ishigami, an Itsushi that is just like the Girl of Water, and all that he wishes for is to protect her so that the resurrection of the 88 beasts might never come. But before she can do anything to help save the world, the Girl of Water must awaken to her true self, her previous existence...

I bought volumes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 off of a friend because he needed money to repair his car, so he was selling stuff he never used so I was just like" hrm. Okai" and bought these.
I started reading volume one like, back in October, maybe? And had to stop at the blow job part. I was just like "WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK"
But today (the 21st of June. Happy first day of summer!!) I'm going to an anime convention held at my local library (actually, I'm one of the hosts. LOL.) and they are going to have a swap table. Really, I don't keep anything I don't like for long, so I thought I'd go ahead and read this and see if I REALLY wanted to get rid of it or not.
Well. I really can't say. Because for these sort of things, I need to sit on it for a few days, but I reread the first half last night, and the rest of the volume this morning. Oh well, though. I'll just bring volume 1 to trade, and if I decide I don't want to own any of these manga, I'll just trade the other 5 next year. But if I regret trading it, I'll just buy another copy online for $4.00. I'm a magnificent bargain shopper. ;3
Lastly, for once, go by what the age rating label says. This manga, so far, is not suitable for even teens my age (16). Through a lot of it I was like "ok, cool" AND THEN HERE COMES THESE NIPPLES RIGHT IN MY FACE. At one point I just had to examine the picture to see how far they actually took the nudity details, AND THIS ARTIST ACTUALLY DREW PUBIC HAIR. JUST ONE MORE LINE (pencil line) DOWN AND ALL OF HER ****** WOULD BE SHOWING.
So, yeah. I don't really recommend this as a gift for anyone either. Even if the person is perverted, it kind of makes you feel awkward while reading it. I felt pretty awkward reading this knowing that my guy friend had read it.

I liked the plot, overall, but I had a little trouble with the gore and graphic art. And although it took me awhile to warm up to the characters and figure out how to differentiate them, I've come to enjoy them, and I'm interested in picking up the next volume :)

The story was a bit random at first, however, towards the end it began to be more clear. It is a great series so far. Volume two is in the mail.
