Not gonna lie: I like this artists work enough that I own three of his pieces, although none from this book. Two are from the Beast Hunter series that are of the dinobots and another is of Ultra Magnus. I hadn’t owned the art last time I read this, and I truly appreciate the detail in it now.

The story is not just one about saving Autobots in prison, but deal with the trauma the Dinobots have due to Shockwave. And while I enjoyed the rescue storyline, I really love the small moments they have coping, even though it’s not in their nature to overthink it, talk it out or do anything other than rage and fight to cope. They do talk about it minimally, but because of the effects of their changes - specifically how other Autobots treat the Dinobots - there’s no real resolution as most of the Cybertronians have fled Cybertron. Well done, although I wish this had delved more into it later on - no, the Beast Hunters series wasn’t enough for me.

Still, emotionally, I am satisfied with the progress they make in this series: doing more in this page count would have felt unrealistic, and I’m not surprised that Johnson gets this, as I’ve been impressed by the books I’ve read by him, particularly the media tie-ins.

Wow. I could not dislike this series any more. Since there is no trade paperback on this, I am actually reviewing the entire "Rage of the Dinobots" story arc.

The dialog was too humanized. Panels were hard to depict on what was happening. Grimlock's chest plate looked like an open speaker and was not sure what was wrong with the face but it was not working. Felt like Grimlock should have been more "bad ass." Not sure why Slag was named "Slug." Action was sub-par and some of the art felt rushed. Also I could not tell the difference between Sludge, Snarl and "Slug" in some group shots.

DO NOT PICK UP THIS SERIES. SAVE YOUR MONEY.

As a Child, I was a big fan of The Trasnformers. I was not happy with the 1986 cartoon movie of The Transofrmers with Optimus Prime dying, it kinda sadden my childhood. However everything is a learning experience. This book Transformers Prime: Rage of The Dinobots comic tradeback is a nice read. Grimlock has given a more modern look, I like the the original Grimlock. It was battle with Shockwave and His crew with the Dinobots. It was a nice read and happy to found it. Toke about one hour to read. nice book to read.

Story was tired. Art was overly detailed, and somewhat chaotic to look at.

It made my eyes cross at times.. ><

Just can't say it was that good. I miss my 80's comics!
