LOUISA MASTERS started reading romance much earlier than her mother thought she should. While other teenagers were sneaking out of the house, Louisa was sneaking romance novels in and working out how to read them without being discovered. She’s spent most of her life feeling sorry for people who don’t read, convinced that books are the solution to every problem. As an adult, she feeds her addiction in every spare second, only occasionally tearing herself away to do things like answer the phone and pay bills. She spent years trying to build a “sensible” career, working in bookstores, recruitment, resource management, administration, and as a travel agent, before finally conceding defeat and devoting herself to the world of romance novels. Louisa has a long list of places first discovered in books that she wants to visit, and every so often she overcomes her loathing of jet lag and takes a trip that charges her imagination. She lives in Melbourne, Australia, where she whines about the weather for most of the year while secretly admitting she’ll probably never move.

Easily one of my favorite series of all time. The way it seamlessly changes characters between each new book, while continuing the main story line and adventures, and a new epic romance between all the main characters. Just, brilliantly written. Bravo. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

A fun read about otherworldly species living among humans on earth, where the magic is interconnected even in other dimensions. Each book has a different couple's story and it was really cute. Very enjoyable

I enjoyed this series much more than I thought I would. I initially bought this collection so I could listen to it on my 1100 mile road trip and it was so long that I continued to enjoy it long after I arrived home. I had previously read the first book and thought it okay but nothing special, the second book was also so-so. However, Joel Leslie brought these characters to life and on my re-read through the audio experience I decided I not only liked the stories I really enjoyed them very much.

I liked book three best of all of them but each set of characters was just right and those in the early books played a prominent role in the later books. They flowed seamlessly and by the end, even dragons became members of the community of hidden species. The story arc was well-planned and the characters engaging, some shy, some brilliant, and some hysterically funny. I can't say enough how important it is to have an outstanding performer like Leslie when listening to something like this. A man of a million voices is worth his weight in gold.

Definitely recommend the audio version of the collection.

"We are from the government and we are here to help you"

If the CSG were my government, I would rebel in the blink of an eye.
Because it is not democratic – no elections, no-one has a vote.
It is not even hereditary – an heir can be brought up well and given a good education.
Instead, "the extentional magic" selects, invests and "guides" leaders. And gets rid of them whenever.
The "extentional magic", carefully not capitalized, is omniscient, omnipotent and omnibenevolent...
Does that sound familiar?
Try malicious and capricious. Self-aggrandizing and prone to destroy-the-world tantrums.
I would rebel in the blink of an eye.

Look up extentionalism philosophers. Sartre, Kirkegaard. Nietzsche.
Not benevolent.

Amazing

I started this on audible, and really only because I needed something to listen to at the gym. I was immediately hooked by the humor in the first book, and found myself snorting and grinning like a bafoon while working out. It definitely helped that the narrator is FANTASTIC and really brought the story to life. I found myself forgetting it was one guy narrating the entire series. Aside from that though I genuinely loved this series. Keeping it to my gym sessions wasn’t enough and I found myself reading and listening to it whenever I could. Absolutely loved this and am excited to check out the spin-off series.

This series makes me happy! ❤️

This is a comfort series. I laughed so much listening to this. I feel all the love and heartache and romance of this wonderful world Louisa Masters has created. It's such a beautiful story. I love this series so much! I'm so glad there are spin-offs. This is so incredibly well written. I've listened to this series repeatedly and I don't think I could ever get enough.
This is Joel Leslie's best performance ever. He's so amazing narrating this box set of the Hidden Species series.

Nice twisty funny read

This series was really fun and interesting and had bits of emotion. The author managed to write a complex story without making it excessive or melodramatic along the way. The only complaint is probably more a compliment toward how likeable the characters are - I wish there was a bit more to most of the stories, including the epilogue. Alistair and Aiden especially felt like an abrupt ending which was only mollified by seeing them in the next book. I'll be diving straight into Percy's story because I am not ready for these characters to be done.

Hidden Species

I love this series! Louisa Masters has created a world I’d definitely love to be part of! The action was intense, the situations were great, the humor top notch and the love palpable. This is the second time I’ve read these books and do no think it will be my last! Highly Recommended

Great book series with shifters, supernaturals, humans, and magic wielders fighting to keep themselves and the world safe. Each book features a couple finding love and trying to stop the ongoing villian/s from the previous book, so I would recommend reading in order. This collection also includes a short novella, which was a cute and fun read.

good

This was a good series. Definitely some fun and interesting characters. Serious undertones for the overall plot, but overall a mostly light hearted feel, due to the chaotic rambunctious teammates.

I really enjoyed the audible version of these books. I initially read them all as they were released. It was fun to revisit the books in audio format. Joel Leslie is a great narrator and the different voices he does adds a lot to the story. I definitely recommend the box set in audible format.

so good.

This series is a top re-read for me. I love the story line so much. And each book introduces a new couple that continues with the same story. So good. Highly recommend. Funny, the characters are so funny.

Fabulous

I only originally intended to read the "Moments With The Hidden Species"............. then I ended up reading the whole book! I'm glad I read it all though as originally I wasn't all that keen on Hijinks With A Hellhound but I loved it 2nd time around. Fabulous.

I was lucky enough to get the whole series as an audiobook from Hoopla and laughed and angst’d my way through it.
Thanks Louisa Masters and the wonderful Joel Leslie who allowed me to immerse myself in the worlds of the hidden species.
Now I want to know what happens to Percy.

I really do like this series. It's a comfort read for me. It's a good series when you want the balance to be fairly equal between plot and relationship, or slightly skewed towards plot. 🌶️ Spice/steam level is maybe a 2.5 or 3/5.

I started reading this not knowing it was all gay romance, so that came a bit as a shock, but I really enjoyed the stories nonetheless.

Pour la romance, l’habituel rapidité des couples magiques

poor writing

Boring word vomit, had to skim read the majority of text to avoid the unnecessary detail. Her other books were kinda better.
