The Cafe on Amelia Island

Rate this book
A hearwarming sisters saga full of hope, humor, and heart...

Tori Wingate knows that spending the entire summer on Amelia Island running the family-owned Riverfront Café means she’s falling right into the arms of a new man for a brief romance. But the more she realizes that all she wants to do is sail into the sunset with the handsome doctor…the more life proves it has other plans.

Her sister Raina is not only looking at the end of a marriage and the start of a life she never imagined, she’s charged with recouping money that has disappeared from the Wingate Properties accounts. And while widowed Grace struggles with the challenge of being a single parent to a unique child, patriarch Rex Wingate faces his own trials on the road to recovery.

When the clouds roll over the café on Amelia Island, the Wingate women learn over and over again that the bond between seven sisters is as strong as steel, as gentle as an ocean breeze, and as lasting as their family legacy.

The Seven Sisters Series

The Wingate women are unique and unforgettable...but they all share inner strength, abiding love, a few quirky traits, and the ability to support each other through every challenge. This family is founded on love and laughter and a sisterhood unlike any other.

When their father suffers a stroke, all seven adult daughters instantly come together to support their mother, run the family business, and lean on each other as they always have. But as they gather at their parents' beach house on Amelia Island, the sisters soon learn that some are struggling in life and love, and picking up the pieces of the businesses along Wingate Way isn’t going to be easy.

The Seven Sisters series will consist of seven books with recurring characters, continuing stories, heartbreaking and hopeful moments, later-in-life romance, a touch of mystery, and lots of happy tears.

All of the books will be available in digital, paperback, and audio formats, launching in Spring, 2023.

The 2nd book in the Seven Sisters series. Loved this one too! This series (7 books) is categorized as contemporary romance but it has so much more than that. The relationship between the sisters is my favorite part about these books. There is just enough drama to keep me kind of wondering but as a whole the positivity and wholesomeness of these books is so refreshing!

I can’t wait to dive into the next book. Two books down, five to go.

The next installment of The Seven Sisters. Wow! So much story, so much emotion, so many feels! The family dynamics are compelling and complex, each sister dealing with personal issues, but each one there for each other and their parents. I love the story and the characters. Read them in order - it makes a much more complete story. There’s so much happening in this one, so many stories woven together in this close family, and the story is fast-paced and riveting. Hope Holloway is a master story-teller and I was hooked from the first page! I couldn’t put it down!

Gay drop, page 287.

Loved the story of several sisters all from Amelia Island, however. And how many of the town's businesses were run by the sisters. A cute, beach-read style book.

Another heartwarming story that will melt your heart.
A very hard book to put down because I had to find out what would happen next. I so hated for it to end. Can’t wait for book 3 to be released.

“What matters in this world is family, love, and home. Period. End of story.”

This book is the second in the series, and I’m already enamored with this family. There’s love and laughter. There’s heartbreak and difficult decisions. Sprinkle in some mystery and surprises, and you will be hooked too. There are so many relatable situations in this series…it’s the magic of a Hope Holloway book!

I had to quit this series. It's unrealistic, saccharine, and trite. There's a subplot around neurodiversity that is actually pretty offensive. The characters have a smidge of adversity here and there but otherwise their lives are pretty charmed and things magically work out for all of them. Sorry, Wingates, this is where I leave you.

An amusing summer read. But it reads like a Danielle Steele novel. All happy and gushy. Not sure if I’m interested in reading the entire series.

A strong continuation of the series! I loved seeing Tori allow herself to lean into romance, while Raina remained determined not to be taken advantage of during her divorce and worked diligently to fulfill her father’s requests. I also appreciated how thoughtfully Holloway portrayed Grace’s struggles as a single—those moments added relatable depth.

While I do recommend reading the books in order since the stories build on one another, Holloway does an excellent job of briefly outlining key details from the first book so readers can maintain a clear sense of the bigger picture. From this second installment, it’s clear she plans to continue diving deeper into each main character’s life as the series unfolds, which I really appreciate. Stories with this many interconnected characters can easily feel overwhelming or poorly executed, but Holloway handles them with clarity.

This book further solidified my enjoyment of the series. It’s warm, engaging, and character-driven—perfect for readers who love family-focused stories with light romance and emotional depth. Highly recommend continuing the journey on Amelia Island.

My rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🏝☕️🍽🍛🧑‍🎄

My thoughts: Now I know out to properly spell the vernacular for it's okay. Predictable or comforting either way I love this story and that definitely was a cliffhanger. 😆 I already know these plots but the story is new. I was even disappointed when the cliché I was hoping for was delayed. 😂 I could have been done with book 3 by now if it wasn't for Facebook but I'm certainly all in now. I will be up tonight reading the next book and looking for another series to binge from this author.

Recommend to others: Yes! I'm so glad I discovered this author and series through a book buddy.

Hope Holloway continues to pique my curiosity and touch my heart with this second book in her new Seven Sisters series. I enjoy that in each book we learn more about the Wingate family while delving a bit more deeply into the lives of a few of the main characters. With so many family members, keeping the primary focus on a few each book eliminates what could be mass-character confusion while also giving readers the opportunity to begin the introduction process with the remaining sisters. Kind of a main attraction/coming attraction combo.

I enjoy how Holloway seamlessly weaves together the many threads of the series, infusing the storylines with emotional depth, realistic challenges, surprise twists (I did not see it coming!), humor, and the steadfast support of family. Her characters are so well developed and relatable that I feel as if I know them all. I'm invested in their happiness and I can't wait to discover where their journeys will take them.

As with Holloway's prior series, the books in Seven Sisters build upon one another. I strongly encourage reading them in order.

ARC received. Fair and unbiased review.

I loved this one more than the first book! So much family drama. 💖 It's such an emotional read! I literally cried when Raina thought she had a miscarriage again. Omg, that got me so bad! When she was saying "not my little lime!" Crushed me! 😭💔 I've loved the sisterhood in this book! I've always wanted sisters/siblings. Rex having an affair with the landlady at the hotel (can't remember her name 😅), the old grumpy lady that nobody likes, and had a child that they gave away! Didn't see that coming! The author also dropped more places, including Jax, which is pretty neat to have been in the places mentioned. 🗺️

This is such a heartwarming book about sisterhood and family! ❤️ I love it and already bought books 3 and 4! 🎉 I just realized it has 7 books total in the series, lol. Can't wait to start The Bookstore in Amelia Island! I highly recommend it! 💯😊🌟

Another must read from Hope Holloway

The second book in the Seven Sister from Amelia Island is excellent!! I have read all of Hope's books and everyone is a must read. I can barely wait until the next book in her series comes out, it will be about another of the seven sisters but six of the sisters lives are scattered through the books, not just mentions of them. These books are all about Rex and Susannah Windgate's seven grown daughter's and the love and lives between them, not just short story that leaves you hanging. The Cafe on Amelia island left some cliff hangers, I for one can't wait to see where the families lives go from here. It is like connecting with dear friends to see what will happen next in their lives. It is must read for sure!

Amazing series!

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Book 1 was great, and by the time I finished this 2nd book I was “hooked” and ready for book 3. How the characters relate to each other as the story unfolds is heartwarming. They are not portrayed as perfect…but as a family that supports each other through the ups and downs that life has for them. In my opinion, much inspiration can be gained from the Wingate family, and the other characters they intrude you to. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.
Hope Holloway is one of my most favorite authors. She and her books have helped me through some of the roughest times in my life by giving me the enjoyment and distraction I needed during those difficult times!

I am hooked on Hope Holloway’s books. Her first two series (Coconut Key and The Shellseeker Beach) were delightful but this new series (Seven Sisters) is outstanding! The characters and their relationships are so interesting and relatable. The story in The Cafe on Amelia Island is nicely woven with book one in this series, full of family, drama, mystery and most of all love. When I start reading one of Hope’s books I can’t put it down until it says “the end.” They are stand alone stories but so much more enjoyable and complete when read in order. I can’t say enough about Hope Holloway’s books she is an amazing author and gifted storyteller!

absolutely in love

Just finished the second of the Seven Sisters series and have fallen in love. It is so heartwarming to read about a family stands together through heartbreaks and hurrahs…sisters who have each other’s back come what May. The characters are well rounded and the narrative and conversation flows. It is imminently readable. I finished the first book a few days ago and the second this morning, after reading until 3 a.m. I will definitely be reading each book in this series and looking for more of Hope Holloway’s writing.

You have to read this series

I wish I could write. I wish I could write even ten percent as well as Hope Holloway. Alas!
So I shall be grateful that Ms . Holloway can write fabulously to create the characters and stories for the rest of us to enjoy. I admit that as a left brained person, I like things ordered, and am addicted to reading series in order. I cannot wait to read the next five and share the joys and sorrows of the Wingate family. Teaser - I hope there is one about Sadie in Belgium

The Cafe on Amelia Island by Hope Holloway. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I can't get enough of hopes novels. She is an amazing author and my absolute favorite. This is her third series, and they get better every time. I started reading this novel and 10 hours later I finished it. I couldn't stop reading it. I needed to know what was going to happen next.
This second book in the series, Continues to show you how a loving family sticks together and conquers problems they face together. It warms your insides and makes you long for that kind of love and support from a large extended family. A cliffhanger twist at the end is crazy, now I need to wait till Book 3. ( The Bookstore on Amelia Island)

In the mean time pre-order book 2, The Cafe on Amelia Island now. Release date is June 2nd. Trust me you will want to read it as soon as it releases.

2nd one as good as the first

Very enjoyable series. Heart lifting. I can't imagine a family like this. Being a native Jacksonville person, I do enjoy reading about this part of Florida. It truly is a beautiful place up there. This is a good family saga. Excited to read the rest. There's one daughter or 2 that are mysteriously "missing". Can't wait to hear their stories. Enjoy!

Just finished reading The Cafe on Amelia Island. Once again, Hope has given me a wonderful story about a loving family. I love that each sister had a chapter and their stories all tied in together. Their love for their father was so heart-warming. All his daughters stood by him on his road to recovery. The question now is will they all stay on Amelia Island or will some leave? It is on to the next book. Thank you Hope for this wonderful book.

4.25 What a refreshing family beach read! You're immediately drawn in, especially if you read book 1 in the series. This is a family of seven adult sisters, dad and mom. It begins after the father's stroke and missing money. Raina is charged with replacing the funds. The story also highlights sisters Chloe and Tori as they work together to make the funds. If you're a lover of sister stories, you'll love this series. No cursing or overt sex content.

The Cafe on Amelia Island is now the second book I have listened to/reqd by Hope Holloway. I should write a review for the first book, The Beach House on Amelia Island , but I want to get onto the third book, The Bookstore on Amelia Island.

I may need to do a review at the very end because each book is almost like a very large chapter in the story about the seven sisters on Amelia Island.

Since I'm going onto the next book so quickly, you have to believe it's pretty good.

Really enjoying this series (this is #2). I listened on Audible and the narrator does a great job, minus that I sometimes get annoyed by the wistful tone when one of the sisters is inevitably swooning over someone/something. But overall this is a well-written story with character and charm. I love the beach town setting, family drama, complex characters, and a little bit of mystery to keep it all that much more interesting. Excited for the next one!

I’m not sure how Ms Holloway does it, but another “hard to put down” book about another family who loves and values each other. There’s happiness, some sadness, and doubts about individual journeys. The Wingates find that there is always something new to learn about themselves and the rest of their family. I’m anxiously waiting for the next book, it can’t come soon enough!

The Cafe on Amelia Island is filled with so many feels, so much emotion, anxiety, frustration, love, and family. I love the sisterhood of the Wingate sisters, the strength and support they give each other and their families. A few questions are answered while new questions develop. I cannot wait for the third book to see what happens next!

Love, love, love this series!

This series has been pure joy to read! I love the authors style. She keeps you turning the pages. I live just short of an hour from Amelia Island, so it’s been so much fun to read! I just preordered the 3rd installment of this series and can’t wait until it comes out in August!
