It’s been two years since Dante was brought to this world. During that time, she had to fight for this world and the people that live in it. She does things she never thought she would. When the team is told they can’t go home, she’s lost. That is until she runs into a one-night stand. Now she can’t stop thinking about her and wants nothing more than to be there for her. Alondra won’t let anybody get close. She’s been burned before and she won’t risk it again, especially not a fire genasi from the latest group of hirelings. She’ll just have to get her out of her system. If that’s true then why can’t she stop thinking about Dante? She has plenty of time to get over her, right? Or so she thought until Dante struts into her tavern one night. As much as she knows she should push Dante away, she wants to keep her close all the same

I’ve been searching for an FF book with character depth that didn’t leave me feeling detached, especially during the spicy scenes. I almost skipped this book because I feared it would be the same as all the rest I’ve read, but it wasn’t! Finally, I found an FF book that felt real - even though it was set in a make believe world. That, in and of itself, gets this book 5 stars for me. But on top of the relationship coming across at believable, the storyline and plot were relatable and sweet. The struggles our two main characters face are all too real and they way they grew from them was healthy and refreshing. I’m so glad I picked up this book!.

You ask me what "happens" in this book....I'm gonna tell you a lot of stool sitting and beer drinking. But the real story is personal character growth. These two learned so much about themselves, and their friends during the course of this book. There was some spice, a lot of stubbornness, a healthy dose of self-reflection, a Druid (I'm pretty sure!), avoidance cooking, and a disappearing hellhound (seriously, where did it go????).

A cute little story but that ending 😫😫

On the writing style I did find it hard at some points to keep track of who's POV it was. I also think it could've been longer and involved some of the little things that came up in more detail, like the dragon hatchery.

This book was cute, but honestly, for such a short book the angst was way too long and the emotions were really confusing, especially as someone with ADHD, this book turned my brain into soup.
