Best-selling Jackie Calhoun is a premier chronicler of lesbian life in the 90s in all its rich complexity. Here's the story of Danny, her married friend Kara, her new friend Chris, the alluring Maureen, Maureen's ex-lover, Danny's ex-husband... etc.
Jackie Calhoun is the author of twenty-seven novels. She lives with her partner in Northeast Wisconsin. Write to her at Jackie@jackiecalhoun.com and/or friend her on Facebook.
I must specify that even while I found the book itself only 'ok', I very much loved the experience of sitting down to read through a random lesbian novel again; I hadn't done that in far too long.
I enjoyed the characterisation well enough. The story eventually became a bit too stereotypical for me and I much prefer honesty and integrity in relationship dealings (which I do understand makes me a rather boring reader).
In the end, though, I'm very glad to have had the opportunity to just sit down and read through a random lesbian novel again! Many thanks to my dear friend who got it for me for winter hols. (: ♥
I feel like the pacing in the book was uneven, and the characters lukewarm. The ending was not the most satisfactory. Overall, it was okay but not a staple.
