I got hold of the ebook and would recommend it for anyone who wants to learn beginners french. Some textbooks are annoying in which they start of with phrases, whereby the aim is to memorise rather than learn and understand. But what makes this book so different is that from the first page, it teaches you how to construct basic sentencing and grammar to the point where you are able to express yourself in French. J'aime apprendre le francaise, c'est amusent.
Very Well put together for a Easy Comprehension of French to English and Vice Versa. However, It seems to be missing some words and I dont know if this is out-dated and that is why or if there are not those words that we have in English in French. Over all a Great Book though, I Learned most of My French from this book.
I remember having it in the house and i did the first three or six lessons from it when i was five, but when it got difficult, you'd put it away for a long while...
Now you'd just run to DK Eyewitness Travel 15-Minute French or 15-Minute German
and go for the audio series: a. Pimsleur French I II III b. Michel Thomas Beginner Set + Intermediate Set c. French in Action, The Capretz Method Yale, with the videotapes and book, and optional workbooks and studyguides
Neat and Surreal to browse, for that Truman era of French 100
H.J.'s review below encourages me! I found this fun little book and thought that someday I'll brush up on all the French I've forgotten since College. It's so cool the way it does it, with cartoons and phontic spelling right below the French and above the English translation. Now I just neeed to get a "Roundtuit". Who knows, I got around to cataloging my library here on Goodreads.. maybe someday soon, and then I'll show them pesky French-Canadian tourists!
Very simple and genius tactics toward learning a second language. I've finished only the first few lessons and I'm already having to think in French and answer questions in French by forming my own sentences. It's an old book, but nowhere near outdated because learning language by exposure and practice is never so.
The most common thing that made a lot people won't to learn French is the pronunciation. Berlitz well-known as a polyglot who also write numerous book about mystery tried to remove the barrier. This book was designed for people who can't read phonetics alphabet and want to learn French with fun approach.
