This chronology examines the Nazi regime's tenure from the Night of Long Knives in 1934 through the fall of Berlin in May 1945. Each month is covered in a compelling narrative style that reveals the growth of anti-Semitism and other grim realities of everyday life under Hitler. Illustrated with maps and archival photographs, the book also relates the stories behind military action like the invasion of Poland, Stalingrad, the Battle of Kursk and D-Day, as well as touchstone events like the 1942 Wannsee Conference and the 1936 Berlin Olympics.
This book is filled with fancy historical pictures, mostly about (obviously) the NSDAP, Adolf Hitler, and his Wehrmacht. It divides the chapters with its corresponding year, ranging from 1923-32, the rise of Nazi Germany, to 1945, the fall of Berlin and its Fuhrer. The information about the Reich's history itself is quite brief, yet we can still enjoy the book by staring at the images.
If you study WWII, and especially if you write historical fiction and need to keep dates straight, I highly recommend this book, it is extremely helpful. A good guide for quick reference.
This popular month by month chronology examines the Nazi regime's tenure from the Night of Long Knives in 1934 [conflict between Rohm's SA & Himmler' SS:] through the fall of Berlin in May 1945. Each month is covered in a compelling narrative style that reveals the growth of anti-Semitism and other grim realities of everyday life under Hitler. Illustrated with maps and first rated images. This book covers more stories about the development of NSDAP rather than the WW II itself, but for me I think this is a great additional book on Nazi studies,
