Being a business professional is all about managing, motivating, and leading, or, in other words, getting people to do what you want. And, far and away, the most important tool for accomplishing this objective is language. Written by an internationally recognized expert on business communications, this book offers managers deep insights into the power of language and how to wield it effectively in any organization.

Great book to improve your communication skills. It put words and share methods on how to structure your ideas before giving a speech, in a daily meeting with colleagues or to communicate in a effective way in general.

Don't be mislead -- it's not about language. A study in management technique of greatest value to those who have already recognized problems. It will do little without self-reflection.

This is a book you want to treat as a workbook and give yourself homework on. It's not as well designed for quick inspiration (although you can use it as such).

A lot of the simulated conversations are too idyllic, but the advice and principles are solid. Read this for a required leadership course and was pleasantly surprised.

Read for required training at work. Some helpful tips, but way too repetitive.

This book is incredibly repetitive. Maybe it is because it is written for managers who are focused on changing the environment of their company by their own actions alone. I was hoping to read a book on how to speak in the workplace to make it an environment that works for me, but this book is not about that. It is for leaders to be better leaders through how they speak and how they act. It focuses on accountability and integrity (buzzwords in my opinion where their meaning isn't really described at all). Not sure if it'll be helpful to anyone, as I'm not in a managerial position nor do I ever strive to be in one where I would need guidance from this book.
