Damn my indecision...
This was one of those books I went back and forth on the rating. One of those books where you have to decide, "Were the things I loved enough to overlook the things I didn't?" Damn my indecision!!
First, "the things I didn't". I just get tired of reading books about the innocent virgin that for some unknown reason (at least unknown to me), guys instantly fall all over themselves to be with. Does she have beer flavored nipples? A vagina that projects ESPN. I just don't get it.
Other things were just minor. Like Scarlett driving me insane and parts of the story where the writing was a little unclear and rushed. Nothing that a little more writing experience won't fix. But WTF was up with the fade-to-black?! Erin Noelle gives us some amazing, hot, steamy "anything but" moments (Holy hell is it hot), but when it's finally time for that first ummm...thrust, we get a fade-to-black!!? Seriously, with all that sexy buildup I never saw it coming. You know...not actually seeing it coming. Shove that inner prude back in the closet Erin and lock the door. I know you can deliver hot!!
Despite my issues, I loved so much about this book. I was truly floored and surprised that I was not bothered by the multiple love interests. It actually worked really well with the story, and I'm one that usually cringes at love triangles (or squares).
I loved all the book boyfriend talk!! It was spot-on!
If those books get your panties all wet, what's going to happen when and actual hottie gets his hands on you?
I'm not sure if I loved all the actual book references though. Only because it kind of blocked me from totally submerging myself into fiction world, but I did truly appreciate Evie and Scarlett's love for books. It was a great addition to the story.
By the second half of the book, I was so involved with the story I couldn't see straight. I had been sucked in, possessed, and left totally confused. I was at a total loss over what team to sign with. Team Mason? Team Ashton? I was completely torn and I LOVED that. I hate when the decision is simple. I adore how I was just as heart split as Scarlett.
The ending left me wanting more, needing more. I was incredibly close to stalking Erin Noelle and begging, pleading for the sequel...now!! I was left with so many unresolved emotions. I just want some peace dammit!
So it all boils down to this. There were things about Metamorphosis that had me holding tightly to my stars, but there were also things that pried them from my stubborn fingers.
So can I really just three-star a book that I couldn't put down, a book that had me willing to commit felonies or multiple sex acts to get my hands on the sequel? The jury is split, but it is a story I decided to let shine through it's imperfections and take me for a ride. Erin Noelle will take you for a ride!

For all of us girls that read like crazy with our friends, have a new book boyfriend weekly(or daily)- This ones for you! This was a really fun book and I loved all of the book references, made me smile :D

They both are really into each other, but they (or he) decides to just stay friends. Scarlett starts hanging out with Dylan, the all american sweet guy, but that doesn’t really go any where. Then one night, she runs into
Mason
Mason and Scarlett have more of an insta attraction. And he is a hottie! She is Mason’s angel. They really do have a spark, but she still can’t get Ash out of her mind. She figures out she has feelings for both guys... whats a girl to do??? Then the twist (don’t even want to talk about it right now...) It changes everything.
This book was great! Riding along on Scarlett’s journey of self discovery, along with a love triangle of sorts (Maybe a love square at one point?) After reading the book, I am not really happy with who she ended up with, but maybe in the second book I can get what I want (team butterfly!!!)
Oh the boys... Ash and Mason.
Ash and Scarlett just had something there from the start. Comparable to soul mates, best friends, I just saw so much potential if someone could have gotten their head out of their ass.
Mason and Scarlett had a different type of relationship. You expect Mason to be this bad ass, but he is really the sweetest guy to Scarlett... And HOT, did I mention how hot he is?
Will Scarlett be able to choose who she wants, before they all get hurt?

WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW!! What a superb book. I'm still buzzing over it as I write this review. Going into it I had no previous idea what I was getting. The cover intrigued me and the title sold me. I'm the kind of girl that likes to go into a book blind! When I say blind I mean I don't read the synopsis or reviews. I basically open the book and just start reading. It's like opening a present layer by layer. You just don't know what you are gonna get and what you are in for. THIS was like that for me. I had no idea there was a triple love triangle (which I lurvvvved), no idea we would be dealing with a sad topic and absolutely no idea that it was going to be so flipping brilliant! It was like getting the best birthday gift ever. I was BLOWN AWAY with the story.
The main character Scarlett comes from a very controlling and strict home. Her parents smothered her never allowing her to do anything. She's never dated, gone to a party, had boys that are friends...NOTHING. She has NO childhood teenage experiences. She was not allowed. Her best friend Evie and her set off to college once Scarlett graduates from high school. At this point she gathers the courage to tell her parents that she's making a clean break and is going off to live her life and experience the world. Evie pretty much take Scarlett under her wing. She is the only person that truly understands just how sheltered she has been. Evie is Scar's (my nickname for Scarlett) lifeline.
MY SCARLETT
Once they get to college a whole new world opens up!! One with boys, parties and opportunity's to explore all that the world has to offer. One their first night out Evie and Scar decide they are going to have a book boyfriend contest (seriously my favorite things about the book) and try to find a boy that represents one of their dream guys. Scarlet is so inexperienced that Evie convinces her she needs to play the field and discover all that's out there in the land of boys. The theme for the first night is your common college frat boy. As they head out they stop at a friends house to pick some people up and Scarlett meets Ash (Ashton). Ash is a suffer boy, pretty delicious but a complete playboy. As soon as they meet though there is this immediate chemistry and pull between them!! Once they get to this party she meets Dylan who's the the targeted boy for the evening. He is the perfect catch, peppy, gorgeous and a total all American guy!! The only problem is that Scar is crushing on Ash and Ash on her but they're both not willing to go there with each other. Thus starts a bit of an angsty love triangle.
MY ASH
BUT
That's not the only boy that we meet. Oh NO, NO...we meet Mason later on in the book!! Now Mason...oh yes..sigh...Mason is tattooed, pierced rocker that makes you tingle. He is the boy that I was pulling for the entire time. Scarlett meets Mason and they just click. Kind of like kindred spirits I guess. It's like they just know what each other needs in every moment. They have a special bond that I LOVED.
MY MASON
Scarlett is so immature and inexperienced in life that she has to figure out her journey. She has so much that she goes through. She's eighteen, a virgin and completely lacks life experience. She has to figure it out and learn along the way. It's pretty bumpy and her hormones are insane. There is lust and tension and chemistry and laughs and SO MUCH good stuff in this book.
I do have to warn you that there is a scene in this book that is truly gut wrenching!! Not only does Scarlet have to learn about love and life she also has to learn about loss and that was very hard to read.
The title of the book is very accurate. We are reading Scarlett's Metamorphosis from a little girl to a young woman and I just loved every single minute of reading it. I can't even wait to get my hands on book 2. The epilogue made for a juicy finish.
Overall I would recommend this to you if you are looking for a angsy but fun and sexy read. I thought this was the perfect combination of heartbreak, love and steam. I loved the dynamic between Scar and Evie and between Scar and all three boys. Life is a journey and an adventure and I had fun reading about Scarlett's.

You know when you start reading a book and you think is gonna be just one more book? Well, I felt this way before starting Metamorphosis and I was totally wrong. Man, I loved this book but I hated it so much at the same time and I seriously could not put it down.
This is a story about Scarlett… her parents have been protective to a crazy point and now she is leaving her home to go to college with her bestie Evie. God, I loved Evie, that is all!
”As for what your type is, surely you have some idea what you are looking for. I mean we have only read hundreds, if not thousands, of books that pretty much cover every category of guy that exists. Think about all of our favourite book boyfriends…”
“That’s just the thing, I love so many of our book boyfriends, ALL of them actually”

This sweet little thing is about to experiment love, friendship & lust all at the same time… She is a virgin, well, that’s an understatement nowadays lol. She meets my lovely ASH, yeah ladies, I am team ASH, hell yeah… I swear I don’t like blond guys but this is just too much!!!
Instead of taking a bite out of my fragile skin, he then reached his other hand to my mouth and pulled my lip free of my bite. I was done for. His touch ignited a fire inside of me that rolled throughout my body, spreading a liquid warmth from my head to my toes, with the hottest embers settling directly between my thighs
That same night they all go to a party and she meets boring and perfect Dylan, ok, I liked him as well but I don’t like guys soooo perfect, they are kinda boring, aren’t they?
She is kinda confused because she knows she should not put her eyes on Ashton so she kisses Dylan in front of Ashton. Once the party is done they go to Ashtons because they are going to spend the night there and they see each other in the kitchen and their attraction is undeniable…
The thumb that had been caressing my cheek moved to my bottom lip and I instinctively opened my mouth. I flicked my tongue over the tip of his thumb, tasting his sweet flesh, before drawing it into my mouth and sucking on it …
I hadn’t been kissed many times in my life, but I knew instantly that NOTHING WOULD EVER COMPARE TO THIS FIRST KISS THAT I SHARED WITH ASH.
When I thought that was it I was wrong again because next morning Ash tells her that they can’t do this and I truly understand him, he just wants her to transition in her life, he wants her to spread her wings and fly. Because she is his butterfly…
But even if he tried to stop what was happening between them that was not possible because they kept having feelings when they were together but they decided to have a friendship instead of a relationship and this is how they became best friends. It should be very difficult to be in love with your best friend, to be seeing each other every Saturday, to see how the other one is making out with someone and then go back home and sleep together just as friends…
Enter the bad boy Mason, yeah, hot tattooed Mason, there you go ladies:
Scarlett meets Mason and she instantly falls in LUST with him. They cannot stop touching and kissing each other, is PURE LUST!

Mason looks like the bad boy but he is sweet, very very sweet…

I just don’t want to spoil their story but pls pls pls READ IT. I am pretty sure you are going to enjoy it as much as I did.
My favourite parts/quotes of the second half of the book:
*Those Sunday early morning hours were what I lived for and it was then that I felt most comfortable just being me
*The reality of my situation was the guy I really liked was about to break off whatever it was that we had going and the guy I was in love with was never going to allow us to have a chance, so I figured why not spend time with the guy that I lusted after. The guy that made my body explode in a thousand pieces of pleasure with his hands and mouth. The decision was quite easy

THE STORY
This is the story of Scarlett and her Metamorphosis, going from a naïve clueless sheltered girl to a strong independent woman and finding love along the way.

Second of all. She has read all the same books I have and I love all the references in this!

If you have made me hurt and laugh, cry and smile and I’m still thinking about the book after I have finished it then you have won yourself a fan for life!

I was looking at a 3 star rating mostly the entire book but the ending alone brought it back to 4..

Let’s start off by saying this book did not blow me away! A lot of it was totally cheesy and I got irritated a lot.
Scarlett MacGregor hasn’t experienced life… well not the life she should have anyway as a teenager in high school. She has over controlling parents who kept her away from everything. Shes still a virgin at the age of 18.
The only friend Scarlett has is her best friend who lives across her Evie.
Evie is just awesome! She is sweet, caring and the best friend that any girl could ask for.
When Scarlett and Evie go to college, Scarlett’s parents are not even talking to her but for once she makes the decision to live HER OWN LIFE on her terms.
Leaving with just the clothes on her back and some money she’s saved, Scarlett and Evie make a sort of pact. TO ENJOY BEING YOUNG and FREE and have PLENTY of boyfriends like the ones in the books they read about!
YEP!! She’s just a book whore like me :D
On Scarlett’s first night out she meets Ash… He is gorgeous offcourse and a total ladies man as expected. Even though she is warned by everyone to stay away from him----

I was looking at a 3 star rating mostly the entire book but the ending alone brought it back to 4..

Let’s start off by saying this book did not blow me away! A lot of it was totally cheesy and I got irritated a lot.
Scarlett MacGregor hasn’t experienced life… well not the life she should have anyway as a teenager in high school. She has over controlling parents who kept her away from everything. Shes still a virgin at the age of 18.
The only friend Scarlett has is her best friend who lives across her Evie.
Evie is just awesome! She is sweet, caring and the best friend that any girl could ask for.
When Scarlett and Evie go to college, Scarlett’s parents are not even talking to her but for once she makes the decision to live HER OWN LIFE on her terms.
Leaving with just the clothes on her back and some money she’s saved, Scarlett and Evie make a sort of pact. TO ENJOY BEING YOUNG and FREE and have PLENTY of boyfriends like the ones in the books they read about!
YEP!! She’s just a book whore like me :D
On Scarlett’s first night out she meets Ash… He is gorgeous offcourse and a total ladies man as expected. Even though she is warned by everyone to stay away from him----
"Ash here has mastered the art of charming the birds out of the trees and girls right out of their panties. He’s our resident playboy, so pay no attention to him if there’s a different bimbo on his arm every time you see him.”
There is just something about him that she is drawn too… Something she cannot explain.
On the same night, she meets Dylan…
He is handsome like an Abercrombie model, sweet, kind and she starts to like him. They end up hanging out for the remainder of the party and making out/exchanging phone numbers.
Ash gets irritated and somewhat territorial with Scarlett which is weird because they barely know each other.
When they sleep over at their friend Jess’s house, she happens to live with Ash and sometime late in the night Scarlett and Ash bump into each other in the kitchen. They start talking and go to his room and ultimately make out. He gives her the nickname ‘Butterfly’
Greeks use the term Psyche to refer to both the human soul and butterflies. Psyche represents the metamorphosis of a dying human soul to that of immortality when true love fills that soul, much like when the caterpillar changes into the beautiful butterfly.”
The next morning, Scarlett is so happy.. from never experiencing a boy before she wakes up in the arms of Ash whom she likes A LOT.
HERE COMES THE SHOCKER: Ash tells Scarlett that even though he likes her a lot he can’t be with her because she is just learning about life and freedom etc. He doesn’t want to be the guy that holds her back from experiencing those things.
Reluctantly she agrees…
Back to Dylan now- they text everyday and meet every Saturday only. Why only Saturday? Good question!
As time goes on, Ash and Scarlett eventually become friends and fall into a routine with their so-called-friendship
Enter Mason…
He is OH SO SMOKING HOT! A tatted musician who owns a bar with his brother.
The minute they make eye contact there is a crazy electricity between them and before you can blink an eye Scarlett is swapping spit with him all HOTT and heavy!
WHOAH!!!! For someone who has never been with a guy she’s certainly making a skank of herself!

Psyche is often portrayed as a beautiful human girl with butterfly wings…
Well what a dandy little read this one was. I saw a lot of talk about it and several gr friends recommended it but I thought it would be another one of those- I have read this story before, same formula; sometimes it works and sometimes not.
This was a big it worked for me one of those books. It was far from perfect and there were just a few minor things that bothered me such as Dylan’s changing eye color and hair. I know that is very menial, but it irked me. Just sayin’
"His blonde hair was styled in a messy, spiky kind of do. His eyes were a deep, dark blue"
"As soon as his big brown eyes found me"
"He had gotten his hair cut or buzzed"
"His usual messy blonde hair and big brown eyes"
Which is it, damn-it... okay enough of that.
But the fairy-tale of book boyfriend fairy-tale stories is what had me reading this pretty much non-stop. The author did a great job of combining the elements of an angst-filled, coming of age, virginal girl loving the best of the stereotypical tatted pierced bad boys, man-whore guitar playing, lead singers. I was giggling like a new adult schoolgirl through most of the book. It was a YA/NA genre wet dream to the max!
Ash, the soul mate the best male friend ever, the one that thought Scarlett was too good for his heartbreak ways.
Mason, the one that awakened and satiated Scarlett’s lust-filled being and was not afraid to express his love for her, his angel.

But of course, Scarlett could not really decide between the two, even though we were lead to believe her heart was with Ash until.... dun dun da da. The shocker heartbreak and heartache, the fear and the retreat.
And then when all is as healed as it can get for now, for Scarlett she faces the two men, her fairy tales, she has hidden from and publicly professes her love for one of them, in front of both-
Eight months ago I lost hope and faith that I would ever find my prince, or to be more exact, that my prince would ever realize I was the one for him as he tried out all of the other princesses. But what I discovered was that I was in the wrong damn fairy tale the whole time, chasing the wrong damn prince
So... a fantastic ending to what I hope will be an awesome book 2!

The blurb does not give this story justice!
From the start I knew I was going to enjoy the ride. I felt like I was friends with the characters in the story.
Funny, quick witted, wonderfully paced, easy writing style. The book swept me up in all of its quirky, lovely drama and if ever a book took you right alongside a characters transformation this one does.
I loved the references in the story to other books in its genre and I think a few of my GR friends will associate with the reading obsession and book boyfriends that the characters talk about. (although it may have stretched a little thin towards the end of the book).
This book is not short of mistakes being made, messy moments, heartache and grade A angst. It most definitely has its fair share of annoying back and forth will she won't she moments that had me screaming at my kindle, that being said as annoying as some parts were it was all part and parcel of the story. This story had its true moments that broke my heart, I didn't think I'd survive it towards the end and by the epilogue I didn't know whether to send the author a bunch of flowers OR an email ranting about the state of my poor heart.
I truly loved this story. if your looking for book butterflies, a journey of hearts and a beautiful friendship, you don't need to look much further this book has it all. *dreamy smile* . The author provides the reader with not one but three book boyfriends (how generous)! I truly don't think I've ever been more confused about a book and the outcome, I was left in a complete mess. Team Ash or Team Mason? The clear answer for me TEAM ASH, it's all about the true 'soul mate' love.

Yes, I already knew my book would be referenced beforehand, but that is not why I enjoyed getting to know her characters. It was definitely a fun read and kept me thinking about what would happen next!! Now I'm ready for book two!!! Erin Noelle is an indie author to watch for!!!

You know those books where you feel yourself connecting with the characters and getting lost inside the book? ?? This was definitely one of “those” books. I live for books like that and this one did not disappoint.
Scarlett is young and naïve but surprisingly strong considering her sheltered life. Her best friend Evie has her back and they have big plans for their first semester on their own. Dylan, Ash, and Mason(Oh Mason)…. Are thrown into the mix and what once was uncomplicated soon becomes very much the exact opposite.
I enjoyed learning about Scarlett’s life in the first part of the book, but by the second half my heart was beating fast and I was reading slower and slower just so it wouldn’t be over yet. I ranted, I raved, I even cried at one point. But through it all I LOVED IT.
I’m a bit whorish…I’m SO #teammason/ #teamash

Metamorphosis was the first book in the Book Boyfriend trilogy by Erin Noelle and was my first book by the author.
I was hesitant to begin this book because I’m not always a fan of duets or trilogies, and I’m definitely not a fan of triangles when all are good candidates. A good person always gets hurt. Add to that the mixed reviews for the series, I was beyond hesitant but if I wanted to successfully complete a challenge - then I had to conquer it. And to be frank, I was hooked in the first chapter.
Enter Scarlett MacGregor. She was a college freshman who had been sheltered her entire childhood and never allowed to date or go to co-ed parties. Hello college life! Having read thousands of romance books, her best friend, Evie, convinced her to use their favorite book boyfriends to seek out their real life types and to have fun meeting new guys. It was a contest between them. They used a different scenario for various opportunities to assist in their selection. The game was on and I loved the possibilities. Enter Dylan, Ash and Mason.
Dylan was “Mr. All American.” He was gorgeous, polite, sweet and a total gentleman. For obvious reasons they were drawn to each other. The perfect boyfriend.
Ash was the “Mysterious Weird Connection “ guy. The gorgeous and flirty playboy that didn’t respect any one woman, but played with them all and wouldn’t ever settle down. However, they had an unexplained connection.
Mason was the “Bad Boy Rocker.” He was the gorgeous lead singer of Jobu’s Rum, a band that played the local bar circuit. Nothing made sense together, but again, they were drawn to each other.
So we now have our triangle. Noelle simultaneously took us through the dynamics and friendship / relationship development between all three. It was told from a single POV, Scarlett. The title was a perfect fit. It really was about a girl who was on the journey of life and morphing into who she was going to be. The journey of an isolated and sheltered girl progressing into the world for the first time and experiencing life and love.
It was well written, well developed and complex. It also had unexpected plot developments that turned the tide. It had a few editing errors; otherwise, I would have given it a five star.
In the end, it was only the first book in the trilogy, so as expected, the ending was just the beginning of more. Ambrosia is up next, so onward...

Scarlett MacGregor must be something pretty spectacular. It appears that every guy falls for this virgin’s charm and looks.
Scarlett and her best friend Evie settle into their dorm for their freshman year at Rice College. For the first time in Scarlett’s life, she is in charge of her own decisions. Up until this point she has been completely sheltered, no boyfriends or even friends outside of school with the one exception her neighbor and now college roommate, Evie.
The girls are avid readers. They kept an ongoing smile on my face by referring to the many books that I have read. I thoroughly enjoyed their book boyfriend hunt!

There is so much to love about this book.
Scarlett is a fabulous heroine. She is funny, smart (loves all the same books I do!) and level headed. Even though she definitely had three love interests, she wasn't that dithering heroine that is leading everyone on, and is in love with whoever she is with at the moment. I have to say this was one of the first love triangles (squares?) where I didn't hate how the heroine handled everything. She was honest with herself and (with one notable exception) honest with all the guys involved.
Oh, and those boys....yummy. I always have a favorite in these scenarios . I'm never confused about who I want the heroine to chose, but this time, two of the three completely captured my heart. (The third was great too, but I just knew he wasn't going to work out) I'm still totally torn about who I'm rooting for. (Maybe they can share? :)
First she meets Ash. Delicious surfer man-whore. Usually this type turns me off, but oh my. I was completely choked up after one of their first real conversations. He is so much more than he looks like on the surface. ..not that his surface isn't tempting.
Then she meets Dylan. All American, Abercrombie hot, loves books, works hard, all around total package.
And final bad boy, tattooed and pierced rocker Mason. *swoon* love Mason from head to toe, and everything in between.
Sheltered Scarlett handles all three (some more than others) with amazing grace, all with the help of one of my favorite best friend characters of all time, Evie.
Scattered throughout the book were great references to some of my favorite books of the last few years, which made everything all that much more awesome. Fifty Shades, Taking Chances, Runing me, Knight, and Beautiful disaster all get some play.
I feel like I'm not doing it justice. I laughed, I cried, I fell in love (twice). I swooned, I got mad, I got my heartbroken. I loved every word, and wouldn't change a single thing.
The ending...well, it's not exactly a cliffhanger....but it definitely lets you know that while things got wrapped up in book one, that's not the end of the story by a long shot.
I cannot wait for book two.

Scattered throughout the book were great references to some of my favorite books of the last few years, which made everything all that much more awesome. Fifty Shades, Taking Chances, Runing me, Knight, and Beautiful disaster all get some play.
I feel like I'm not doing it justice. I laughed, I cried, I fell in love (twice). I swooned, I got mad, I got my heartbroken. I loved every word, and wouldn't change a single thing.
The ending...well, it's not exactly a cliffhanger....but it definitely lets you know that while things got wrapped up in book one, that's not the end of the story by a long shot.
I cannot wait for book two.
One of the best new YA books I've read. Try it out, you won't be disappointed.

Meet Scarlett
(We may also call her Sam, Butterfly, as well as Angel... Well we can call her that if we want to get yelled at ;)).
Scarlett has been kept locked away from society by her parents. She went to an all girl school her entire life and had only one real friend- Evie. Evie the girl who lived across the street and actually got have a social life! But now they were both headed off to college and Scarlett was determined to spread her wings and fly for the first time in her life. She was going to be who she wanted to be and do what she wanted to do. Nothing was going to stop her. And Evie supported her the entire time. They decide to try and date all different guys that are similar to their book boyfriends. \
Scarlett is introduced to Ash...
Sparks are flying. They have this extreme connection that Scarlett has only ever read about in stories and she's shocked to actually feel something like she does for him. The problem? Well he's a man whore. A self proclaimed man whore! He wants Scarlett, he cares about her, but he wants Scarlett to experience life and spread her wings... To be a butterfly and transform from the cocoon her parents have kept her in all her life. She's the Psyche to his Eros. But by pushing her away is he really pushing her into the arms of another man?
Scarlett also meets Mason.

The bad boy. The boy in the band with tattoos and piercings... He's hot. And She has never lusted for someone that the ways she does for him. She's completely drawn to him and neither of them can keep themselves from constantly touching the other. He becomes her "sex" coach but that just leads to them really growing closer. Can't wait to read your wonderful book Princess!!!
Erin does a wonderful job in her debut Mature YA novel showing us the Metamorphosis of a young lady just starting college life and being away from the over-protectiveness of her parents. She also does a wonderful job of showing life altering occurrences that affect Scarlett's perspective on all that she thought she was.
Oh and I want the sequel yesterday!!!! Team Ash all the way baby!!!!

I was given an ARC for an honest review.
This was a great debut novel that had my heart pounding at the end. Scarlett is a young, sheltered girl on a journey to become a woman. She meets three hot guys along the way and has to choose which is best for her. The first half, we get to know Scarlett and she made some choices that left me frazzled but she was always likeable. Although she is inexperienced she isn't a pushover. I loved her interactions with her best friend Evie. Their interactions had me smiling at some of the things they talked about. We see Scarlett start to feel things she's always read about but never experienced. Some choices are made from lack of experience and others are made from pure want.
The second half of the book really took off and I had no idea who she would choose. The ending left me absolutely riveted! Although my favorite didn't get the girl, I love books that give me that ache in my chest and this one did that for me. I love to make that connection to my book characters where I feel their "pain" and kudos to Erin Noelle for upsetting me!!!

I was given this book to review and I was bit nervous at first to read it..not knowing what to expect.
This story was sweet, funny, touching, angsty and had a few OMG HOLY CRAP moments. The story of a self discovering virginal college gal, man whoring hottie, preppie wholesome boy next door was setup perfectly. Then you throw in a hot ass bad boy rocker on top of all that...WOW!!
Three chapters in and I was hooked! The writing, characters and story had me wanting to savor what I knew would be a great read. I was not disappointed..at all!!! I devoured this story and was left blissfully sated in the end. Thanks for sharing Scarlett's amazing journey Erin, I look forward to your next installment.

I was given an ARC for an honest review & thats just what I intend to do because regardless of how much I love an author its the book that I am reviewing and not the author.
That being said...This book far exceeded my expectations from a first time author in this genre and recommended read for those who enjoy Mature YA.
This is a story of a young woman who is beginning her first year at college with her BFF & gettin out from under her parents thumb. She is new to just about every life experience a teenager typically goes through and embarks on a journey of self discovery, heartache, loss and love. The author did an amazing job with creating characters that you can feel and at most times even relate to. Sure, there were times when I was rolling my eyes because all the boys would just instantly fall all over themselves for our heroine but the yummy main male characters make up for it **swoon** You will laugh, you will cry and you will want to shake the crap out of something at times but it all comes together at the end and the author even gives us a sweet little treat (epilogue).

So I finish this about a week ago and I've been putting off posting so I could write some epic review with gifs and clever quotes and all that to express how great I think this book is, but that's just not me. However, just cause there's no bells and whistles on this review please don't dismiss this book. It was fabulous. I loved everything about this book, from the way it was written, the characters and the story. It gets 5 Holy Shit I love this book stars from me. If you haven't read this book I think your missing out.. I can't wait for the next book and after reading back through the book I'm Team Scar.. I say takem both...:)

For me this book wasn't a 3.5 stars because it was a bad story, or because the writing was awful - the kind of story just purely isn't for me. I have read Taking Chances, From Ashes and now Metamorphosis and they all have a huge similarity that I have now learnt I don't particularly like - A young, naive, virginal girl who has finally broken free from a sheltered life and is thrown in to the craziness that is college, with boys throwing themselves at her.
In Metamorphosis, when Scarlett MacGregor starts college, along with her best friend Evie, she is ready to experience everything she has been missing out on - boys, parties, drinking, boys, making her own decisions, and oh yeah boys! The minute she comes in contact with certain boys, three in particular, it's like she is a walking goddess and they can't keep their eyes off her. Cue the pissing contest and endless 'will she' 'won't she' questions regarding the three boys.
We have Ash the bad boy womanizer, Dylan the preppy school boy and Mason the sexy bad boy rockstar. One of each of our favourite types of Book Boyfriend. Scarlett turns into an insta-whore near enough over night, minus the sex, and goes from one boy to the next. She doesn't necessarily make the best decisions but since she has been sheltered for so long she finds it hard to slow down and contentrate on just one boy.
I won't give any clue's to who Scarlett ends up with in the end but I will just say - Team Ash all the way!
There were ALOT of references to other books in Metamorphosis. Ruining Me by Nicole Reed and Taking Chances by Molly McAdams were just two of the few. I am all for references in books, quite often it makes me smile or laugh out loud, especially if I have read the book! Unfortunately, it didn't work so much for me in this book, I just found it a little bit too much.
Like I said in the beginning, this wasn't a bad book at all it's just that this 'type' doesn't necessarily work for me. I can just about deal with love triangles, let alone love squares. If you are a particular fan of Molly McAdams books though, I highly recommend you reading Metamorphosis.
Saying all that though, I am looking forward to the next book in the series to see who exactly gets their HAE and who with.

While i was really dissapointed with how she was acting out and i only wanted for her to make a decision and stick to it..

Why, why, why would you do that Erin Noelle? Why? I cried sooooooo much so, so, so much..
Untill this point the book was a 4 star for me but after what happened everything changed.

So amazing!

but there was an epilogue and that epilogue changed everything!

-I wanted more interaction with Ash, i wanted to know what they were talking about..
-I was so glad on the epilogue we had the chance to see an alternative POV.
-I was shocked when disaster hit us straight on our head.
-Ash, i wanted to kill him and then have sex with him.
-When someone gets a tattoo they put gauze on it and ointment because it will get infected. It is impossible she was going around showing it off on the first day..
-The serenade was incedible.
-I didn't like Dylan.
-I was devastated about Max..What happened was so wrong
-Her parents:WORST PARENTS EVER
-And i play for both teams.. You were right Anna..

I really wanted to hate this book.
I was all set on giving it one star.
But literally on the LAST page. It kind of won me over.
...kind of
I'm actually confused as hell right now, cause I honestly have no idea what I just read.
I mean what exactly was the book about in the end?
It began being about freedom and getting away from her parents.
Then it was her friendship with Evie, next came all the boys, and then it all just abruptly halted and all of a sudden it was about her finding herself.
But her "metamorphosis" was literally in about the last 20 pages of the book.
I have a thing for last lines. I love when the last line of a book has a significant meaning to the story.
And that is the ONLY reason this book is getting ANY stars.
“And I only hope you still want me to be the Angel to your Rat.” I turned up my nose just slightly when I said his nickname.
“All along I was wearing the wrong wings.”
Mason slowly made his way towards me and stepped up onto the stage. I didn’t move. He looked down at me and seared me with his intense stare.
“Don’t you ever fly away again, Angel. I swear I’ll have your wings clipped.” Then he picked me up into his arms and crushed me against his body.
“I’ve missed you so much, Angel. I love you.”
“I love you too, Rat boy. I love you, too.”
That was all beautiful and awesome, don't get me wrong.
But here's the thing I'm so confused about:
The book is called Metamorphosis.
She has the Butterfly Ash drew tattooed on her calf.
Ash was the one who gave her the nickname Butterfly....
She claimed to love Ash for pretty much the entire book and yet, at the last second.... she ends up with Mason.
For a book so obsessed with books it really messed up the dynamic there.
Everyone knows that the first guy the girl meets is the one she ultimately ends up with.
Even in books with love triangles or whatever the hell this book had, the reader always knows who will win in the end. And yet, in this book, it was just a complete 180.
Like seriously, what the hell just happened?
I realize there might be another book in this series but even so, I don't understand how this book could end up like that. The worst is when you have a favorite guy out of the two, and the main character loves them both, it just makes you want to punch them in the face and that is what I wanted to do more than once when reading this.
It also annoyed me how much they talked about books.
I didn't mind the mention of Taking Chances or Beautiful Disaster, that was cool.
It annoyed me when they said stuff like:
"...ya’ll will end up together with a magical, fairy-tale, happily-ever-after. But you know as well as I do that it takes a bunch of other bullshit in between to get that point - a bunch of unnecessary angst, some preventable misunderstandings, and you both need to make some ill-advised and senseless decisions."
That really annoyed me.
But the thing that pissed me off most about this entire book was all the "Insta-Love"
Oh.My.Word.
It is the worst when two characters have known each other all of two minutes and are already calling each other soul-mates.
It makes me want to punch someone.
I can understand Insta-Lust, because obviously you can look at someone and instantly be attracted to them. But you cannot look at someone and instantly KNOW you love them, instantly KNOW you have a connection with that person even though all you've done is had some steamy eye contact.
Lust happens immediately, granted. Feelings, DON'T!
And in this book the author did that with not only ONE but all THREE main guys.
It was like they met Scarlett and the next minute they were in love with her. It was infuriating.
"I feel this strange connection to you."
Not to mention I hate that she had such a sheltered life and then as soon as she gets her freedom it automatically has to be all about boys, not even remotely about anything else.
I don’t understand that.
Even though I don't like who she ended up with, I'm not really all that upset about it.
And it was kind of like every guy in the book was the same. Ladies man who was actually a closet softie.
The characters weren't really definable as their own.
I also didn't cry when Evie died. I knew it was coming. It just didn't evoke any strong emotions in me other than irritation at being so predictable.
I really wanted this book to be better.

I almost DNF.
Look, I think BBB just like the rest of you. And, despite my inner feminist, I loved Travis from Beautiful Disaster. And, I have a thing for the underdog & hot rockers, so naturally, I was rooting for Rhys, in Ruining Me. Alanis Morissette- You Oughta Know got me through some heartbreaking break-ups; I know anger, pain, lust, heartbreak, sexual tension, and boys. I love stories with witty banter, dripping with sarcasm, with a touch of irony, and big crazy twists.
And yet, Metamorphosis makes a joke of all of those things I love.
I kept thinking to myself: IS THIS A PARODY OR A SATIRE?
PLEASE TELL ME THIS WAS SOME KIND OF A JOKE...?

Scarlet is free now that she is 18 years old. She moved out of her "crazy" overprotective, controlling parents' home, to start fresh in college, with her best friend Evie. She's an 18 year old virgin that's never been kissed, never been on a date, never had ONE guy FRIEND in her life before, attended an all girls high school, never wore nail polish, never stepped foot inside a HAIR SALON!!!! WTF? And her explanation? "My parents were just over protective." [...]
OK, BUT THAT'S NOT ALL, FOLKS.
She gets herself a make-over, and stocks up on her "sexy" lingerie, because well, she needs to give up her V-card now, right? She's in college!
She meets not 1, or 2, but wait for it...THREE (for lack of a better word) retarded guys. One of the guy's nickname is "RAT." Enough said.
I don't even want to mention ASH. He's creepy, and not hot at all. The "excuse" he gives Scarlet made me want to puke and roll my eyes up to heaven. Really dude? Was that the best ya got? Ultimately, he's a "play boy" and you know how that goes. Nothing unique, or unpredictable happens.
Except, well, the *TWIST* - Oh goodie!
The author must've decided she wanted to make Scar a "deep" character that "overcame" some sort of personal tragedy, or something ridiculous, because she decides to KILL OFF a character! For no reason! Just for the sake of drama...

The whole thing was just bizarre... I couldn't relate to any of the characters. The story telling was off, too. Most of it was all telling, rather than showing. And there were one too many 'steamy' scenes, just for the sake of it.

Look, I think BBB just like the rest of you. And, despite my inner feminist, I loved Travis from Beautiful Disaster. And, I have a thing for the underdog & hot rockers, so naturally, I was rooting for Rhys, in Ruining Me. Alanis Morissette- You Oughta Know got me through some heartbreaking break-ups; I know anger, pain, lust, heartbreak, sexual tension, and boys. I love stories with witty banter, dripping with sarcasm, with a touch of irony, and big crazy twists.
And yet, Metamorphosis makes a joke of all of those things I love.
I kept thinking to myself: IS THIS A PARODY OR A SATIRE?
