Cry Of The Wolf

Rate this book
The full moon is a week away, and although Lydia is as excited as it gets to run as a wolf for the first time, she is also fighting to keep her independence while trying to understand her role in the lives of the three males that have come to rule hers: compassionate, tender Taylor; impetuous, fun-loving Ryan and distant, cold Lawrence.

There's also a fourth man in Lydia's life. Brendan, her previous "friend with benefits", is tirelessly searching for her. He's about to uncover things that should be kept hidden.

However, the testosterone surrounding her is the last thing she should be worrying about. Her family bear truths about her heritage she's not ready to face ... she may not have a choice, because the greatest danger to them all comes from within. The past never stays buried for long, and among the shadows of their species it is rising with a vengeance, threatening to tear their pack apart for good.

Notes: Book two of a series - it is highly recommended that book one be read first. This is an adult, paranormal fantasy short novel (over 55,000 words) containing scenes of explicit sexual content and some violence, entwined with romantic elements. (Written in British English.)

Dianna Hardy is an international bestselling author of (cross-genre) fantasy fiction, most notable for her dark (often explicit) paranormal fantasy and the raw, intense Eye of the Storm series. But her heart-warming Once Times Thrice series proves she thrives in the light as much as the dark.

Whatever your poison, what she loves most is to bring you stories that are action-packed, fast-paced and not short of heat, with the focus on character development, relationship dynamics, and the plot.

She writes full-length novels and short fiction.

First published in 1997 with poetry, and then in 1999 with her first short story; The Witching Pen was released in 2011 and she hasn't looked back.

Dianna lives in Hampshire, UK, with her partner and their daughter, where she writes full time.

From 2025, Dianna revived her old pen name, and is also writing as Elysa Summers.

Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Fairies

Dianna Hardy's second installment in her fabulous 'Eye of the Storm' series has grown in action and character development. Whilst I really enjoyed book one, Releasing the Wolf, Cry Of The Wolf has taken this series to a whole new level.

The main characters have been crafted and developed in a fascinating and gripping way, with the plot offering creative twists and fast paced action. Even before we get to the hotness of the characters and the steamy scenes, Cry of the Wolf already hits the fabulous 4.5 rating with the strong narrative and intriguing character interaction.

The author, Dianna Hardy, has certainly advanced the depth of her characters creating a werewolf series that is certainly becoming a favourite werewolf series of mine.

If you've yet to read book one, Releasing the Wolf, be sure to devour it before you get to book two. An impressive series filled with heat that will have you melting, characters that will have you swooning and a storyline that will keep you gripped.

“Cry of the Wolf”
- Book 2 of the “Eye of the Storm” series -
by Dianna Hardy

Blurb:

Lydia's life has changed almost overnight. From a lonely and vacant existence, she has now joined a Pack of Werewolves and mated with not only one, but the three strongest members of this family, entering a world that is new, dangerous, and at times a little confusing. Burdened with powers she never knew she possessed, and with her very first change approaching with the coming of the Full Moon, Lydia has a lot to learn about her new life, her mates and herself. Pushed to the limits, will she break, or transform?

My thoughts: When I read the first book in this series, “Releasing the Wolf”, my very first impression was of a seriously hot (lots of yummy sex scenes) novella, with a great and interesting plot. It was honest and direct and I enjoyed it as an introduction to this new world.
The Werewolf is one of my favourite supernatural creatures and I was eager to explore this new take on it, trusting that Dianna Hardy would work her magic once more (I do love her “Witching Pen Novellas”).

The second book in the series though has slightly changed that perception for me. This isn't just a racy story, this is a story with a seriously deep layer, and this second instalment has definitely cranked up the emotional levels a few notches.

Let me tell you, if you thought the first book was fun and sexy, you've got something else coming!
“Cry of the Wolf” explores Lydia's new life in the Werewolf Pack: the politics, the secrets, the love, loss and heartbreak. There's still that sarcastic, razor-sharp humour permeating her thoughts, but Lydia herself takes second stage for this book in my opinion, and although her voice is drowned out by the strong male protagonists, her three mates and Amil the Trident, this does nothing but give us a new perspective into her world.

It was fascinating to explore Lydia through the eyes of her mates, and I really loved looking into these men's hearts and minds, and discovering their heartaches and their deepest secrets.

Lawrence was my favourite in book 1, and in book 2 he still captured me with his sad, intense story. The things he goes through and the glimpse into his past really brought things into perspective for me. And may I just say: that motorbike scene...sigh! I'm hoping his story is going where I hope, but have a strange feeling in my gut that there is a lot of heartbreak ahead for him...

Ryan is just the complete opposite to Lawrence, his strength and positivity, his love for his family and devotion to Lydia a constant source of light. He made me smile, with his marshmallows antics and unending patience.

Taylor is just the perfect balance for the two, light and dark at the same time. His story was very well explored; his love for his lost wife and his struggle to accept his new place and his new found love for Lydia were wonderfully told.

Surprisingly, I think my favourite character for this book has to be Amil though. Out of all the others, his is the story that really got to me. Let's face it, we all love a sexy baddy with a tortured soul, I know I do. Amil starts out as a mindless minion, and quickly develops into so much more. I think him, more than any other, really is the poster boy for this book. There's darkness in him, but also the faint hope of redemption through the love of a woman he should have never fallen for in the first place: sweet, innocent Sarah. His acceptance of what he is, and his sanguine wish for what he could be again are so compelling. His understanding of sacrifice makes him one to watch in book 3 for me. One scene really brought that home to me, but as I don't do spoilers I'll just mention his hotel room after his theatre date with Sarah, and leave you to discover what I mean. Talk about pain and pleasure, darkness and light...I'm looking forward to discovering what lies in Egypt for him.

This is a dark and intense book, and it felt different from the first, although it makes perfect sense considering the revelations and the turn the story has taken. What else has the Trident in store for the Pack? What does Russell Maddox intend to do to the Gunvald family name? And most of all, who is Aunt Gladys, really? Her character I feel is about to take a very prominent role in our Werewolves lives...

This is a very well constructed novella, sexy, yes, but mostly emotional.
In one word? Raw.
Enjoy it...I very much did :)

Favourite Quotes:

“You've got to feel it in your core,” he stated, impatiently.
“As if I'm not trying...”
“Well, do you feel anything?”
You, being a pain in my arse...

Her wolf, however, which was close to emerging in physical form for the first time ever on the full moon next week, seemed to be more than happy with the idea of being “claimed” by all three of them.
Yeah, and who wouldn't? Teased her mind. Have you seen them!

...his voice rough from both desire and defeat...”This wasn't the way I wanted it, you know. In my dreams – our dreams – it was just you and me.”

A sigh reached her from behind, to her right, and Sarah turned to find Beth staring at her and shaking her head from side to side.
“What? What is it?”
“You have no good underwear, do you?”
Her jaw dropped open at the gall of the woman.
“You need to go underwear shopping now.”
She closed her mouth.
Damn.
She was right.

She teetered off, and Russell wondered exactly what she was capable of. She looked formidable and she clearly hated the Gunvald family. He wondered if Lawrence would still be alive the next time he spoke to her or if she'd find a way to slip arsenic into his tea.

The Review
Yowzer, How super excited was I to get my greedy little mitts on this copy, I couldn’t wait to get stuck in and I didn’t, I started it straight away, I really loved the first book in this series, Releasing the Wolf, so could not believe it when the author sent me this ARC, It has felt like I have waited so long for this one, but it hasn’t really been that long, still it was definitely worth waiting for, I couldn’t put it down, it had all the characters I fell in love with in the first book, Taylor, Ryan and Lawrence, not forgetting our main female lead, Lydia, this book was more in depth with the relationship between the four, I will not give you any spoilers if I can help it, but it does delve into each separate relationship that Lydia has with each of them, along with their relationship together as a group, as usual from this author, The plotline was awesome, I would give the raunchy stuff a 5 out of 5 too, We also have the baddie from book 1, Amil, but he is really growing on me in a weird way, talking of which, the action was great, I was kept on the edge of my seat with this one, we also meet some new characters, one of which freaked me out abit, I won’t say who, you will have to read it, to see what I mean, Let me know who you think I meant, when you have read it. This book will not be out until around the 18th April 2013, I recommend you get it, but Please make sure you have read the first book first, it’s called Releasing the Wolf, You will need to read it, to understand what is going on with Lydia and the pack, I will post links for you at the end of this post to releasing the Wolf, I didn’t want this book to end, but now I am looking forward to Book 3 coming in December 2013 in a really big way, I would give this one 5/5, put it in your wish list,

This is the second book in the Eye Of The Storm Series. I loved it!

Lydia is a fantastic character! She is adjusting to her new life within the wolf pack. Being mated to three very different men has it's challenges. I enjoyed watching Lydia grow into her new life.

Taylor is sweet and tender. I love his protectiveness and caring of Lydia, even though he's still in love with his wife, Sarah.

Ryan is fun-loving and spontaneous. He's not as involved in this story, but I loved his method of having a "man talk" with Taylor. It made me smile!

Lawrence is intense and serious. I loved getting to know this enigmatic character a bit more. His story is very emotive, and I shed a few tears as I read it.

I have been looking forward to reading this story since I had read the first book. I started reading this book, and struggled to put it down! We meet new characters too; Sarah (Taylor's wife) and Amil. These characters add a new dimension to an already intriguing storyline. I'm not sure where Amil will fit in, in the next book, but I'm looking forward to finding out! I loved the way the story flowed, and was shocked at a major twist that had me thinking, "Huh?, what's going on?!". As this is a paranormal romance, there are a few scenes of a sensual nature that are explicit and HOT! I am now looking forward to reading the next instalment in the series!

Dianna Hardy has written an amazing paranormal romance series that is extremely fast paced, but it doesn't feel rushed. I was disappointed when I came to the end of the story, because I wanted to find out what happens next! I HATE cliffhangers! (However, I love them too!). This author is on my favourite authors list, and I will read any book written by her.

Due to the sensual content and some bad language, I do not recommend this book for younger readers. However, I highly recommend this book if you love paranormal romances with sexy werewolves. - Lynn Worton

This book is sooo much better than the first book, which frankly I believe doesn't even begin to do this series justice. The author sets up a good pace, that doesn't let the reader down and it's certainly one of those books where you don't want to raise your eyes when you think someone might be talking to you.

This well written novel starts to flesh out the stage for the series and gives a lot more insight and bulk to the atmosphere both in terms of the characters, their development, motives and end games. New characters are consistently introduced and the mechanisms that drive the Pack are given much more clarity.

I've jumped into book 3 and that sums up both the quality and pace of the novel.

My final rating here is my sex via commuter rating. If you don't want to squirm and pee yourself on the train - take a spare pair of knickers with you for later.

Cry Of The Wolf
Eye Of The Storm #2

Taylor, Lawrence or Ryan, how is a girl to choose between those three? Luckily for Lydia she doesn’t have to! This is the sort of book that makes you want to explore your darker side, and thoroughly enjoy it no matter what anyone thinks. Secrets are slowly being uncovered, and pieces start fitting into place, but this book will still leave you a little breathless and wanting so much more. An amazing book, and part of an even more amazing series, this is definitely one to read if you love adult, paranormal fantasy containing scenes of explicit sexual content.

What happens after the bonding of 4 people who just happen to be wolves? A lot of changes, adjustments and sexual tension! A great continuation into the life of Lydia as she comes to terms with who and what she really is. Her ever growing love for Ryan as they continue with their love affair of 10 years only now in the flesh. The innocent stolen kisses from Taylor who still harbors guilt that he is being unfaithful to his wife. And then there is Lawrence. Deep, dark, brooding and hiding a secret that gives such a twist to the story line! Hot sex scenes, mysterious new characters and death bring this story to a climax that will have you wanting much more!

This is a ARC REVIEW OF CRY OF THE WOLF (EYE OF THE STORM #2) BY DIANNA HARDY

"This review may contain spoilers"

When I reviewed the first book in this series releasing the Wolf I said “I think I have found a new series I’m going to fall in love with” Well scrap that I’m in Love with the series this book sealed the deal. I have falling in Love with the story Dianna has created I have falling in love with the character’s especially one in particular. And I think I might fall in love with Dianna so I can get out of her what happens in Heart of the Wolf (book 3) Hey a girl’s got to do what a girl’s got to do to find out a story plot right? 

I have Highlighted over 20 quotes in this book if that doesn’t give you an idea how much I loved this book nothing will. I could use all the words Amazing, Wow This book Rocks etc. etc. and yes it’s all of those but when you read this book you will find that out for yourself.

The way Release of the wolf ended I was expecting this book to go down a certain route. But no Dianna surprised me with the way she took it and I have to say it was Awesome especially Amil and Sarah’s story as it just proves not all Evil is bad. I actually found myself liking Amil he shows a good side of himself and that is all down to love. What I was expecting I’m hoping comes in book 3 with Gabriel the new leader of the Trident doing anything he can to get his hands on the Storm-Wielder. The Trident step up their fight by doing something really horrible by sending a message to not only Lydia but Lawrence to. Oh that scene broke my heart poor poor Lydia I don’t think she will recover from what happens. And Lawrence OMG I did not expect what we find out about him that totally shocked me and yet it explains why he is so cold and distant.

With Lydia, Ryan, Taylor and Lawrence all trying to work out how the feel about being mated and also dealing with their pasts you find out a little more about them.

Lydia wants her independents and to make things right with people she has left behind. And when Brendan tells her a few home truths she finally takes it on board and doesn’t run or hide when things get bad. I have a feeling she is going to be one strong kickass women. All she really wants is to be loved and like every girl you want to hear those three words I LOVE YOU and I hope in time she hears those words from her men but I have to say they do show it in other ways even if they don’t realise they are doing it and that goes for Lydia to.

Ryan is still his playful self but his Dominance does shine through sometimes. There is a scene where Ryan talks to Taylor about how Taylor controls his urges around Lydia. And I love the banter between them; Ryan shows a tender side to himself and understanding I think they all will need this. One of my favourite quotes is between these two.
“The unwelcome image of Ryan ‘relieving’ him invaded his mind. Taylor glared at him. “You know, there are some thoughts you should keep to yourself.”
Ryan also shows another side of himself when he refuses to let Lawrence wallow in his self-pity.

Lawrence oh Lawrence I felt so sorry for him his past is horrible and like I said earlier what you find out about him shocked me I did not see that coming. Lawrence owns a Theatre it been in his family for a long time so when a certain actor Russell Maddox threatens his Family name and their history and offers to buy the Theatre from him, Lawrence doesn’t take it well and will fight for what is his. I think we will see more of this story play out in book 3 but Russell has no idea who he is playing with and will have one hell of a fight on his hands. We do see a softer side to him when he is with Lydia but he is still holding back. Now that his secret is out I really do hope he and Lydia grow closer but I don’t think it’s going to be easy for him to change his ways.

Taylor (swoon) I’m so in love with Taylor I don’t know what it is but whenever he is mentioned my inner wolf shows and shouts MINE. Taylor breaks my heart he can’t seem to break away from his past he’s only been turned for 9 MThs so it is understandable why he can’t let Sarah go. Sarah has no memory of her husband (Taylor) and she is getting it on with Amil so when Taylor hears her say she has meet someone he says his Goodbye to her in a very sweet way. But a friend of theirs who lives overseas threatens all that. Taylor hurts Lydia a few times in the story and I wanted to slap him around the head but then hug him at the same time. When the two women in his life find themselves in danger Taylor once again goes after Sarah but a visit to their old house brings him to his senses and he finally says Goodbye. I <3 you Taylor.

I love Sarah and Beth’s friendship Beth actually made me laugh with this quote “you’re going to have to remove the cobwebs from your Vagina with forceps soon, they’re growing into intelligent life form-“ I don’t think we have heard the last from Sarah especially with her overseas friend not showing up yet. And I have my fingers crossed for Amil and her.

Now there is something that happens to Lydia throughout the book something familiar to her and near the end of the book we find out what that is. And all I can say about that is “What a bitch, and oh you are so going to regret what your about to do.”

I personally want to thank Dianna for the sex scenes. Damn I love the sex scenes raw and so freaking hot. Especially the one right at the end I think they all realise they all have something special and will do whatever it takes to make it work.

My all-time favourite quote from this book is “ I wanted something soft to remember you by, because we both know you’re going to go back to being hard as soon as we leave here” “I don’t want to be like that with you; I don’t want to push you away.” “Then don’t.”

I am going to find it so hard to wait for the next book in this series and I will be badgering Dianna to give me some idea of what is going to happen. I highly recommend this book in fact I highly recommend this series it’s only going to get better.

I received a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion.

Lydia is trying to figure out her relationship with the three males, her mates in her life now. How to deal with each of her of them and what they each mean to her. This is not to even mention the guy Brendan she was seeing on occasion before her wolf came out. Brendan is treading in dangerous waters by not letting her go or forgetting about her but he doesn't know this nor does Lydia. Brendan may not be the only one in danger either. Lydia having mated with three of the pacts males could stir up some bad trouble between herself and some of the other members of the pact.

Ryan is the male wolf that Lydia has been in love for years but only in her dreams. Lydia had dreamed about Ryan and their love making for years she didn't know that he was real. Ryan is a very sweet and hot dude. He along with her other two mates all do very good with sharing Lydia while at the same time they do find it hard to share their "woman".

Taylor is still in love with his wife Sarah and is having a hard time letting her go. He knows he has to let her go but he is not sure that it will ever be possible. He knows he should be thinking about Lydia now and Sarah but he was in love with Sarah for so long. Lydia understands this if the men don't exactly get it.

Lawrence is a tough dude with an attitude at times. One minute he can be so sweet and the next not so sweet. Lawrence has a past that he has tried so hard to keep in the past. But his past is about to catch up with him. His past is about to be brought into his future and may end up causing him a lot of trouble and pain.

Dianna you have done it again, written an out of this world novel. Dianna's writing just keeps getting better and better not to mention her story telling. Cry Of The Wolf is the bomb and this one will keep you bouncing and not able to turn the pages fast enough wanting to know who Lydia is going to be with next. The ending of Cry Of The Wolf just blew me right out of the water. It was a great surprise that I did not see coming. When you find a book with an ending like this one then you know you have just finished a fantastic book. You are hooked straight away oh not that I wasn't hooked from book #1 in the series.

Book #1 Releasing The Wolf was a great book too all by itself. If you have not read this series yet then I highly recommend that you do. But as Dianna says you need to start with the Book #1 first so you will know what is going on. I can't wait for the third book in the Series Heart Of The Wolf which is due to be published December 2013.

Thanks Dianna for letting me read your novels and thanks as always for taking the time out of your busy schedule and visiting with us today! Thank you for making the Guest Video, love it!

Purchase Releasing The Wolf so that you can have it read by the release date of Cry Of The Wolf on April 18, 2013.

One of the tag lines for this series - in regards to the leading males, of course ;-P - is “Everything just got three times hotter.”

Well, everything has gotten three times more interesting in Cry of the Wolf which is the next instalment of The Eye of the Storm Series.

Where do I begin? Well, if you loved the first book in the series then you're gonna love this book. Lydia is in the throes of finding her place in her new life, pack, and her role in her new three-way relationship/bond. Mmm. The boys are as hot as ever, but we now have the huge splash of dominance and submission going on. The tension between all three is like a delicious tug or war where they are all try/fighting to be fair in regards to the situation.

Ryan . . . *fans self* was the focal point in links to Lydia in book one, but the limelight is now turned to Lawrence and Taylor in book two, but for very different reasons. Darling, gorgeous Taylor is trying to say goodbye to his past, where as Lawrence’s has decided to rear its ugly head. I’m not going in to details because I dare not spoil anything, but my heart really went out to Lawrence in this book and I have developed a deep respect for him.

We also have another couple who make regular appearances throughout the story. Remember Sarah, Taylors ex-wife? Yeah, she has gone and got the attention of something tall, dark, and furry; Amil . . . well, you will find out the deal with him, but he is the character you know you should hate, but you end up loving him; finding yourself hoping for him.

This book runs a lot deeper. We see a mixture of pain from a lot of characters, for a lot of reasons, but we also see their strength; how they survived and how the experiences they have lived through have made them who they are.

Last, but definitely not least, the threads in regards to Lydia’s family and heritage are starting to weave together. Her life and family are still a mystery, and one that is slowly being revealed to the reader, but you just know something interesting is lurking round the corner.

All in all, Cry of the Wolf is a must read. We find out more about the structure of the pack, and how the trident came to be. We learn more about our three sexy alpha wolves. Tension and chemistry still runs high, and the sex scenes are toe tingling good. Action, humour, science . . . The story has it all.

Dianna Hardy sure knows how to pen a good tail tale. (Bad pun, but I couldn't help myself. ;-P) The threads of the series are beginning to weave together and I can’t wait for the third and fourth book.

This stunning second instalment from Dianna Hardy definitely has the wow factor and has pumped up the heat from the first book! I started reading this and the book was nearly always glued to my palm until the end!

As I have come to love and expect with Dianna's work is hotness and Cry of the Wolf had it in bucket loads. Intimate scenes are never held back and I totally love the wild abandon that goes into each moment! Saying that it's not all about the sexiness (although it could be, lol), there is a great in-depth complexity woven into these lusty pages.

I am a character driven gal and Dianna's males manage to stir something inside me that I haven't felt from reading a J.R. Ward book, and without a doubt Dianna's writing is up there in the awesome Warden category too.

By far my favourite character has to be Lawrence - he oozes the hot stuff and has this beautifully broken thing going on - which I love! The wolves are beautiful and believable, I think they have an earthliness to them that captures the essence of werewolves perfectly and I'm yet to come across wolves with such an edge to them.

The storyline picks up right after the events of book 1 and immediately managed to pull me right back in. Lydia is trying to adjust to everything in her new life, including 3 wolves to call her own. But she won't have long to adjust because shocking secrets come out of the closet and their enemy have stepped things up a notch in the war....

I adored each of Lydia's relationships with her mates and each relationship had it's own unique beauty. Watching Lydia discover and get to know each of them was a joy and I think Dianna has managed to make having 3 mates work perfectly and it's actually quite beautiful.

I think this is a fabulous read that is full of action, danger, shockers, mystery, lusty scenes, touching moments and is all brought together with such wonderful writing. I cannot wait for the next book!

I received this book to give an honest review.

Wow what more can I say? Awesome, exciting, sexy, there are so many words I could use to describe this book. If you read book one which I would highly recommend you do because you could easily get a bit confused as to what is going on with all the main characters. The way the plot is damn, keeps you so engaged that you really lose track of time or at least I know I did. I did not want to put this book down at all, and let me just say the sex scenes in here just wanted me to jump all over my husband. Hell I think it would be great to be part werewolf with how hot the sex seems.

There are plenty of secrets are going to come to life, from pretty much everyone. Someone in Taylor's previous life comes into play and we hear a bit more about that. Lawrence has a secret that it seems one person really knows about. Lydia is falling in love with all three men, but do they happen to feel the same way about her? There is also a traitor in the mix but we do not find out who later on and let me say I TOTALLY DID NOT SEE this coming at all. I was like what, way to put a twist on the story and leave me wanting more. I mean come on, now I have to read book three to see what comes to light.

You do get new characters and one of them named Amil well he plays a big part in this story but I wonder what he his story will be in book three. And how will his relationship with Sarah will play out. And who is this mysterious person who we only read a small part about. What is her role in all of this exactly.

If you are into adult paranormal, sex with some class, hot werewolves. A love triangle that is not complicated a story line that will keep you intrigued and wanting to know what is going to happen next, then you HAVE TO get Dianna Hardy's Eye of the Storm books. They are a must read.

Warning: May contain spoilers if you have not read book 1 - highly recommend reading book 1 before reading book 2.

Lydia finds herself in an interesting situation - bonded completely to not one, not two, but three werewolves. This along with the sudden realization that she is a storm-wielder, a rare gift that is looked on with fear, leaves her feeling a bit winded and at a loss for how to deal with it all. While one of her mates is fantastic, she hasn't quite figured out the other two just yet, but her inner wolf won't let her wait to know them much longer.

Much of the story revolves around Lydia coming to grips with her new life and trying to exert her independence with three very dominating males. As everyone's history and emotional issues begin to come forward, they all find it difficult to cope. Watching them come to terms and learn to care for each other - flaws, history, and emotional baggage included - was endearing and very thoughtfully written. Told in a way that you can't pick a favorite, just as Lydia can't either. I loved them all!

But we have to have a some more happening in the background to make things a bit interesting and keep everyone on their toes right? The group that kidnapped Ryan in book one is back and looking for the she-wolf that called the storm down, and they don't plan on giving up until they find her - but there's a twist there as well - can't say much more, it's a surprise!

While I enjoyed the first book just a little bit more, Cry of the Wolf was a great follow up in the series. With a bit of a cliffhanger ending, I know I will need to read book three as soon as I can!

Dianna is one of those authors where you can tell with whatever she writes, she does it with intense passion and belief that her characters are real. I really want to live in her world. Dianna's Eye of The Storm Series is an intense roller coaster ride of emotions and suspense. The entire time reading this story I was on the edge of my seat. Unlike the first book, Releasing The Wolf, Dianna has added many more back stories and new angles with her characters. Whereas I love reading about Lydia, Ryan, Taylor and Lawrence, she has added Amil, who is a bad ass Trident from the first book. Many dots are being connected in this story as well as new complications full of deceit and lies. I have to look back on what Dianna told me about this new series from the beginning, this was not going to be a happily ever after. Her characters were going to be put through the ringer, and what can I tell you...it works. Unlike anything you have ever read, Cry of The Wolf, is going to make you question everything and everyone. I can't wait for the next book. Enjoy!

O.M.G ~ this sequel to Releasing the Wolf is brilliant! Lydia's relationship with her 3 wolves is greatly developed and the reader truly has an opportunity to understand the history and "issues" that Taylor and specifically Lawrence have dealt with all of these years. While I was true "Team Taylor", after finishing this book I am completely and utterly "Team Lawrence" and you all will have to read this novel to find out why:)

It is no secret that I LOVE everything that Dianna has written. I have had the great gift of receiving ARCs of her work and I can tell you honestly that this novel will not disappoint - I was amazed as I got towards the end of this story how the author managed to tie things together and revisit items that may not have seemed important at first read but - WOW were they vital details....

Pick up this series and read them in order - they will not disappoint!

I was given this book by the author in return for an honest review.
Lydia, Ryan, Taylor and Lawrence are all trying to find their way in their Triple Bond. Lydia is trying to learn how to use her storm wielding power's as well as coming to term's with the fact that she is a werewolf AND has 3 mates!
Both Taylor and Lawrence are struggling to accept their past's but can they do it without breaking "their" mate's heart or the bond!!!

This was just as hot and just as addictive as the first book and I can't believe I've got wait to Dec '13 for the next book!!!!
I also loved the fact that even my hometown appear's in this book and I could picture the character's running through the fields that surround me.

cry of the wolf. brilliant book better than the first. This book was more about Taylor and Lawrence. With the first I didn't like Lawrence thought he was standoffish and was for Taylor as much as I liked Ryan. But in cry of the Wolf you couldn't help but fall in love with lawerence I felt myself being drawn to him. All 3 Suited to Lydia as different personalities. I feel the 3rd book will open more on Lawrence as I think he still plays a big part. One again another great book from Dianna. I loved the witching pens novels and definitely fallen for werewolves x

The heat level is high but the momentum from the first book is different. Then there is the begining of an m/m pairing within the 'harem'. Not my thing to be honest.

Three weeks after the first book and Lydia has been with Ryan but pushed her other mates to the background in a way but now the Tridents are on the hunt for the storm wielder to put in their cage so they can do their 'mating' with the only thing that they cant create. Taylor has been like a friend to Lydia but haven't pushed her into the bonding but he is still in mix emotions with his wife that was taken from his life and brainwashed of him to help her get past her brutal attack that Taylor got the worst ending from. Lawrence is dealing with American actor Maddox and his claim to the family empire's name. Truth comes out about the secret Lawrence had been dealing with for 20 years and the day Lydia found her butchered friend is hoe the secret came to light. Can Lydia ever look at Lawrence again with out seeing Brendan brutalized body? Or can she deal with the love of 3 males that haven't said the words to her or their actions of said love? This was a perfect second part to this series and its getting better with each book

This second installment has slightly better pacing than the first, but Lydia's constant gear-shifting and her sudden reveal as a truly awful waitress really grated on my nerves. (Uh, what? She's held down multiple waitressing jobs for FIVE YEARS but she's awful at it? Please!) We also find out she's a super special and unique snowflake and someone close to her is actually working against her and her family. This one focuses primarily on Taylor and his wife-related angst. Then you toss in an evil werewolf who's secretly not so evil. And a major reveal about why Lawrence is so bloody pissy and closed-off.

It's just so damned convoluted that I gave up the series after finishing this one. The author expects readers to pay more for each of these novellas? Not this reader.

Character death, mentions of torture and noncon.

(The sex is hot, but even that wasn't enough to get me past this second novella. It's M/F all the way through, with one a couple squint-and-you'll-see it hints that there could be, maybe, possibly be more in future parts. The menage tag is very misleading.)

Soul Touching

You learn so much more about the main characters in this installment. Your heart will break for Taylor and Lawrence. Each of them have been through so much sorrow. Ryan always holds a jolly persona while Lydia is learning how to handle all the changes in her life. The villains are slowly revealed in this installment although a lot is still left out as to the reason behind it all. A foe finds redemption in his soul via love. There's so much going on in this novel but the author has created each event in such a way that there is no confusion while reading it.

Smoldering hot, fabulous characters and a gripping storyline. Cry of the Wolf is a fabulous follow-up to this sexy were series.

I love paranormal romance, and paranormal erotica even more. This book, while clearly holy hotness heavy, has beautiful touching scenes too, making it a pretty perfect read for my tastes.

Dianna Hardy is such an amazing craftswoman. Her writing is meticulous and natural flowing. I can't wait to start the next book.

This series is crazy. It's so open ended that I feel like it's a serial. Anyways Lydia and the guys are all navigating their new mating, as well as staying away from the Tridents. We get quite a bit of Sarah which annoys me a bit. I am more interested in Lydia's relationship with everyone rather than the subplots. Laurence (which I probably spelled wrong) has a big secret come out. Just everything is so fascinating.

While I found the plot to be a bit more interesting in this second book of the series, I was hoping for a little more character development for Lydia. I enjoy the three male characters (although someone needs an attitude adjustment, might I recommend a rolled up newspaper to the snout?). A fun read.

I would give this book between 2 1/2 and 3 stars. It was kinda confused but still wanting more. It was like not having all the pieces to a puzzle. I still liked it though. I am really sad we have to wait until December to read the next book.

I couldn't put this book down! I was amazing. The characters were really well defined and left me want to know more about each and every one of them. The story line Judy keeps building leaving me hanging on every word. And it's so HOT, my insides sizzle!
