Melisande, at 33, is a dowager duchess and even though she's technically free, people are still telling her how to live her life. So she plots to ruin herself so she'll have to be exiled from London society and maybe finally experience the freedom she longs for. She doesn't count on Grayson Sanbourne, who tempts her to be herself and who sparks her desire for adventure with him. This was really cute with two very likeable characters, but the ending needed an epilogue or something. It ended abruptly.

It was a short story, but very well told, if a bit unbelievable, but McAcbe wrote something in 48 pages that some people can't write given 300 or more, and that was emotion, passion and entertainment. Will definitely look for more stuff from her.

44 pages of excellence. I would have enjoyed it even more if it 120 pages. It is a sexy novella. I found it well-written. I liked the plot. It had an easy to follow storyline. I was impressed. I generally enjoy novellas. I would re-read this in a heartbeat. It felt very original and captivating. 💕💕💕

Short books and I really have a difficult relationship. I always end up feeling everything was forced and rushed and this time it wasn't different.

And there was a lot of potential. The author could definitely have worked more on Melisande's painful past and developed that, not only for the sake of the readers, but also for Gray.

Well, if you're looking for something light, this is definitely the way to go. Just don't expect too much,
