When a playdate unexpectedly turns into an overnighter, poor Edward finds it too stressful to cope.

This one has me torn - I feel kind of sorry for the tyke, but at the same time, I think he's being overly-coddled, and needs to tough it up a bit.

Edward is a little apprehensive leaving his parents to go and play at Anthony’s house, but he does. Unfortunately, it snows harder and harder and Edward’s parents cannot come pick him up. How will the staying overnight workout? Definitely this is a common “fear” for children that first time staying away from home and many parents have had to do exactly the thing Edward’s parents do. I am not spoiling the ending.
This title is part of the Edward the unready series by Wells.

A fast read for a parent at a young child’s bed time, Edward the bear goes to his friend Anthony’s house , but as the snow gets deeper, Edward can’t get home. Edward does not want to stay the night, so Anthony s parents take action, to get Edward back to his home. Cute little book. Read it In seconds. Only 29 pages.

I was always the first to recommend sleepovers as a kid, so this one may not have done much for me then, but I love that this book addresses childhood anxiety. I think many kids would find it very reassuring. These days, I always prefer being in my own comfy bed at night and have difficulty sleeping elsewhere, so I'm right there with you, Edward!

Like Edward, many children relate to feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, and disappointed. It is important for teachers and parents to acknowledge these feelings and help children learn to cope in a healthy way.

If I were trying to teach a lesson about bravery, I certainly would not choose this book.

Cute

A very nice story and my kids loved the characters. Good to teach no pressure to do the things they see on tv. They give it 105 stars.
