London’s version of gossip girl mixed with the best romance trope. Detailed descriptions of how it feels for something to be right but go so wrong. Absolutely yes. Loved this series and would recommend to anyone who wants a bit of gossip and a lot of will they, won’t they.
I love the magnolia parks universe. Book 1 kind of repetitive and a little absurd at times but by book 5 I’m deeply invested in characters and ready for next book. Satisfied adult gossip girl book crave
DNF: I had every intention of seeing this series through but I can only handle so many chapters of being expected to root for a completely toxic and exploitive relationship. I was honestly disgusted whenever Magnolia would say “now I know he sounds completely perfect at this point” or something a long those lines. No. He doesn’t sound perfect at all. BJ is a selfish person who treats women like pons in a cat and mouse game with his ex girlfriend/best friend. PSA: Relationships with someone who treats you with respect and considers you in every decision they make do in fact exist. I wish I had the patience to find out if this series turns around and I hate to be critical of books I couldn’t finish but just based on what I did read, I felt like this book was romanticizing an unhealthy relationship which I find unproductive and frankly harmful.

These books are the equivalent of a bag of Doritos: impossible to put down, maybe not the best for you, but damn enjoyable!
Imagine if Gossip Girl took place in London, but tossed in a few kids who get their family fortune through less-than-legal ventures. These books are filled with toxic relationships, incredible fashion, and absurd lives. All that to say, I was totally obsessed with the series and loved it, and I'm not proud of it!
Here's some more scoop on this series: Magnolia Parks is basically the IT girl of London, rich, gorgeous, & incredibly self-involved. 2 books are from her POV, with one more coming out (date TBD). Daisy Haites is another person in the Magnolia Parks universe, and 1 book is from her POV, with 3 more coming out (this feels like an unnecessary amount of books, but who am I to judge). I decided to read the books in the order they were released and felt that this made the most sense to me.
Here's a little breakdown of the books:
Magnolia Parks (Book 1): Sets the stage for this universe. Follows a totally toxic relationship that you can't help but root for. Many highs and lows, lots of drama. More name-dropping of designer goods than you know what to do with.
Daisy Haites (Book 2): Daisy's POV. I personally like Daisy more than Magnolia. She is a badass chick from the most powerful crime family in London. Guns, violence, love triangles, oh my! Our girl Daisy uses footnotes to communicate with us throughout these books. I had a love/hate with the footnotes, but overall found them cute, if not a bit distracting.
Magnolia Parks, The Long Way Home (Book 3): Back to Magnolia's POV. Back to the longest will-they-won't-they scenario EVER.
Suppose you want to take a mental break from any heavy books/topics/etc, this may be the series for you. The characters feel a bit immature, but this doesn't seem like YA to me. At times, this series reminds me a bit of After by Anna Todd without any of the explicit scenes (this is pretty much a closed-door novel, aka not a BRAD).
Magnolia Parks (the woman) catalogs every outfit she and her friends wear throughout her books. This Instagram account is dedicated to those outfits, and I am obsessed with it. This almost made up for the fact that she wrote four novellas that should have been feature-length books/films.
I didn’t expect to love this series as much as I did, but I was completely hooked! While I enjoyed both storylines, I have to say I preferred Daisy’s books over Magnolia’s.
Magnolia’s story revolves primarily around her and BJ. From the start, BJ is a complete player—sleeping with anything that moves. Even after they officially get together, he cheats on her with her best friend but hides who it was. When the truth comes out, they break up at the end of book one. Magnolia struggles with being alone, so she finds herself in different relationships, while BJ moves on with a new girlfriend. She eventually starts dating Daisy’s brother, Julian, but in the end, she and BJ find their way back to each other. However, just as they reconnect, tragedy strikes—her sister, Bridget, dies at the end of book two.
Book three focuses on Magnolia and BJ planning their wedding while also working through their toxic patterns and deep-seated issues. We finally get insight into why BJ made the choices he did, as well as more details about Magnolia’s family trauma. In the end, they get their happily ever after with a beautiful wedding.
Daisy’s books, on the other hand, start by exploring her relationship with her brother, before diving into her romance with Cristian. The storylines in her books run parallel to Magnolia’s, so there is some repetition, but the added perspectives of Daisy, Julian, and Cristian make it feel fresh.
Book two ends on a major cliffhanger—we’re told Daisy cheated on Cristian with Rome, but there are hints that something more is happening within the crime families. It seems like she might be sacrificing herself to protect Cristian, but we don’t get all the answers just yet. I absolutely loved Daisy’s story!

As a whole I loved this series the toxicity did my head the pain I felt for the characters. The love, growing, healing and full circle moments that happened in this series made up for the toxicity in my opinion.
The daisy book in between was so good and gave me a brake I loved there story line love the story’s of Julian and magnolia, Daisy and christen where so cute together, gang lords need love too 😂😍
Side note did not like the little side notes at the bottom I got lost so meany time going to find them and trying to find my place again or missing them completely.
These books and these characters live rent free in my head. I constantly think about them. You can’t just read the first book, you HAVE to read them all to understand the whole story but it’s so worth it. Jessa Hasting’s writing is so poetic and magical. It’s so beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time💕💕💕 My all time favorite book series and author.
I LOVE LOVE LOVEEEE IT!! it was and will be the best series i‘ve ever read!
i was not quite sure in the first one if i like the series but the characters are so well written that i continued and fucking loved it ! the 3rd is the best in my opinion.
the characters are so different written in contrast to other romance books and realistic human beings.
Best series I've read in a while. Jessa really has a way of sucking you into the drama of it all. The stories intertwine so well and make more and more sense the farther you read. The swoons are felt just as deep as the heartbreak. I found myself not knowing who to root for in the end because I love little pieces of all the relationships.
