An engaging look at wildebeest migration in Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. Follows the herd's path throughout the year showing the different challenges along the journey. Uses a mix of photographs and illustrations and contains maps and fact boxes as well as an index. Really interesting nonfiction for lower grades.

The Great Migration is about the journey Wildebeests and other animals take in Africa as they migrate from the Serengeti National park to the Masai Mara reserve. I found myself swept up in this technical book, and I learned plenty of what I never knew before. The pictures are very vibrant and specifically show the routes these animals take while depicting the dangers they face. It's an all encompassing book for the visual or verbal-learning child.
