When the shy and reserved Midwesterner Olivia Rowland met Max Dalton, one of the brightest and most successful writer/producer/director Hollywood had seen in years, the two set off on a wild ride of extremes—passion, lust, fear, doubt.
The two have been tested by each other and by outside forces.
Olivia and Max seem to be on a path to having everything they both desire—an unbreakable union above all. But in this conclusion to the FADE series, they will face some of the toughest challenges neither of them could have imagined.
*AUTHOR'S NOTE: This ebook is no longer being published as an individual book. You can find all 3 novellas in this series combined in 1 book -->> Fade.
We’ve both learned that neither of us is perfect. What we are, though, is perfect for each other.
I guess, having now completed the trilogy, that this is just a gentle contemporary romance. It’s not particularly intense and the plot isn’t very dynamic and, if that’s what the author intended, just a light quick romance, then she succeeded. Having read the synopsis and judging the books by their cover, I really was expecting something a little deeper with a whole lot more angst.
The main problem is the length – there’s just not enough time to develop much more than the central two characters. I did actually grow to really like Max after find him rather sleazy in the first novella and he is a worthy hero – he’s loyal, dependable and very, very sexy.
I just felt that the story had great potential but that it never really got into its stride. The secondary characters were two-dimensional and stereotypical and Chris, the abusive ex, seemed like he’d come straight off a factory-line of villains. There was no real depth to him and I had no understanding of what motivated him to behave the way he did and why he was so obsessed with Olivia.
So, I’m giving this 3 of 5 stars for a mildly steamy, contemporary, quick romance.
This is a mystery book. The mystery stars me. The entire story is me wondering how such a terrible book like that got to be a bestseller. It was so bad that I thought I can be a writer too. If Kate Dawes can do it, why not me? There was little padding or missing info that I didn't know going into reading Fade Into Always. But I'm still wondering how this book got through any screening process. Was there a first draft that was improved on to beget this mess?
This book will be the first one to be forgotten in the near future. Many works are forgotten. You can see this with movies. With movies, there's always a group of fans who remember a guilty pleasure. Or the hypothetical film is always being rented by someone, watched by new people. But we at large, remember the great ones most. This book is light years away from that.
I don't know what type of people buy this kind of books. I have read free erotica written with more talent and taste than this dreck. There's an author on the internet called bradley_stoke. He's the most reconstructive amateur writer ever. There's also G.H Lawrence. Check him out, at your discretion though. Fade Into Always is such an apt title. Fade into always and stay there.
A good read, but I do recommend purchasing and reading all three books back to back. Each book is short and while the author could have gone into a little more detail, I found that I was sucked into the series from book one and stayed up late to finish all three in one night!!
Love it! I throughly enjoyed this series of short reads (now out in 1 book). I loved the story and the characters. It had the perfect balance of emotion, sexual chemistry and naughty time between the sheets. I can't wait to see what author, Kate Dawes has in store for us in the future!

I wanted to like this!! I am totally in love with new adult and love romances. But why did he like her? What did she offer to the relationship? He helped her the whole time and what did she do? Was she really funny? Was she kind? Was she really in that much trouble to need him to watch over her? I am sad to say, these books were just okay. Maybe I just needed more. They were def short as I read them all in a couple hours. Maybe they just needed more detail, more pain in book 3, and more character development. I want to like them. I really do... It had potential.
The Fade Series by Kate Dawes is a series of 3 e-book novellas (each only $.99 for now). Even all together, it is still a fairly short book, about 200+ pages total. They are also available together as a paperback. I had planned on reviewing them individually, but I wasn’t able to put them down in between, so I will review the entire story together.
Fade Into You (Fade #1) Olivia is from the midwest and has been living in Hollywood for about 3 weeks. She left her cheating ex-boyfriend behind and is staying with a hometown friend of her sisters and working for a Hollywood casting agent. Then she meets Max. A hollywood producer, director, and writer, Max has the reputation of a very active casting couch. He sets his sights on Olivia, and after a few sexy flirting meetings, they have a super-hot encounter in his office. Then another, even hotter date.
“That was amazing”, Max said. “The best.” I wasn’t lying. It was indeed the best sex I’d ever had, no doubt due to him being the hottest guy I’d ever been with, and the way he did it–taking control, taking ME.
Then Max fucks up. Then makes up for it in MANY hot ways. And as soon as the book ended, I had to read the next.
This book was a great, 5 star beginning to a series. I would also give this first book a 5 for Heat.
Fade Into Me (Fade #2) continues right where the first left off, since this is really just 1 book broken into 3 parts. Max and Olivia take off in his jet to Napa Valley and get to know each other more. I really like that the author showed the couple getting to know each other rather than just fucking and falling in love. But Max was still holding back a bit. They also travel to New York together, and WOW, that plane sees some really HOT action! Then the paparazzi fuck things up…
This book was hot as hell. Max is dominant and controlling in bed, and a big part of this book is the sex (no complaints here, it was GOOD sex). This was even shorter than the first, however, and I wish she actually made each installment longer rather than shorter. Rating for this one is 4.25 stars, and 5 for Heat.
Fade Into Always (Fade #3). This book has Olivia rushing a little too quickly to forgive Max when she doesn’t even know the story, but a little more happens in this book. Olivia’s boss messed up, big time, and Olivia finds herself wondering what to do for employment. The mystery about her roommate comes to fruition, her family comes to visit, and a dangerous person is out to get her. All of this in about 60 pages.
This book felt rushed, almost like the author had the story in her head, but got a little bored with telling it. The sex was glossed over and all the problems were resolved too quickly, but I loved the end and epilogue. Rating for this one is 3.75 stars and 4.25 for Heat.
Series Review: I highly recommend this short series if you liked Fifty Shades and Bared to You. I liked the characters very much, the sex was amazing, and I liked that the couple was shown to get to know each other a bit before declaring undying love for each other. There were some really cute and funny lines, and I thoroughly enjoyed the banter between the couple. Max was sexy and romantic, and alpha to the core.
“I’ve never believed in fate,” he said. “But honestly, when I was writing that–specifically her character–it was different from all the other things I’d ever written before. Or since, actually. I’ve always had to work on characters for a long time, getting them right, changing things about them. But she was different. She just…came to me…out of nowhere, already perfect. Just like you.”
Likes:
-Scorching hot sex, with a commanding dominant guy, but not a Dom. He holds her wrists, and demands what he wants in bed, but that’s it, and it was awesome. -The characters had some witty banter and a believable progression of the relationship. -The side story about the roommate, Krystal was believable (though I would have liked more) -I liked the unique idea of a movie writer, and learning how Max became what he was.
Dislikes:
-If we are going to have a three part series, expand it. This would have been 5 stars if it went to 4 or 5 parts. -I don’t like broken up books, but since I bought this when it was all already out, it didn’t really bother me. -Everything wrapped up too quickly and easily, but maybe that’s because I wanted MORE!
Series Rating: (for a novella) 4.25 stars, 4.75 for Heat
Do I recommend this? Absofuckinglutely. Do you need BOB or a man? Yup. Would I re-read it? Sure would. I will be looking forward to the Kate Dawes next book!
FADE INTO ALWAYS is the third and final novella in Kate Dawes’ Fade trilogy. And once again, the storyline continues as the same spot where Fade Into Me left off. There was a major revelation at the end of FIM and our heroine Olivia is so overcome that she is willing to forgo all explanations from the man with whom she is falling in love and jump right into bed. At this point, I digress, because the information revealed ( in the previous storyline) would have put most women off sex with the knowledge that their current love has some major damage control on the horizon.
AS the story progresses, we discover that the information was a little tainted and explanations were required to clear any misconceptions. As well, Olivia’s roommate Krystal is on a fast road to self-destruction when the only available acting work leads her into the darker side of adult entertainment. But it is Olivia’s boss Kevin that will try and take advantage of his assistant when he believes that Olivia is willing to put out because of her relationship with Max. As Olivia’s business life begins to crumble, Krystal will reveal that her involvement in the industry goes much deeper than Olivia had thought.
Throughout the series, we get glimpses into Olivia’s family life back home. Like many Midwestern families, they are worried about their daughter living in LA. But when they decided to come for a visit, Olivia is worried how they will react to everything that is going on. Trying to hide her relationship with Max and Krystal’s spiral into drugs and porn, Olivia will soon realize that she cannot forget the past, and with the arrival of her family, so too, comes the arrival of the man she has been trying to forget.
The FADE series is a quick read. I ordered each book in succession and within a matter of an hour I had all three novellas read and the review written for your consumption. Overall the trilogy is a sexy diversion from everyday life. There is nothing new or revolutionary about the series premise-a rich and famous millionaire who falls for a beautiful young newcomer: each with a past of secrets and pain and of course, the requisite stalkers, roommates and friends. But overall, it had a HEA, a Hollywood style romance and an epilogue that fast-forwarded two years and left you wanting to learn more.
Ceritanya kelewat simpel dan mudah di tebak.... Banyak adegan yg bikin gw berasa 'DejaVu' dg buku2 lainnya.... Karakter Max mmg manis sih.... Tapi ga cukup nendang bagi gw.... Konfliknya umum....kurang menggigit ! Narasi dan deskripsi biasa aja..... Kesan cerita kek 'terburu-buru'....dan fokus hanya pada adegan uhuk2nya aja (namanya jg erotika booo !!!!) Uhuk2nya mayan....cukup bikin mendamba..... 'Normal',ga neko2..... Pdhl dlm bbrp dialog sempet ada percakapan 'menjurus' aneh2,kek spank dan iket2.... Tp pd prakteknya.....gada,"̮♡hϱ♡hϱ♡hϱ♡"̮
Gw jd ga ngerti,di mananya yg bs bikin ni buku jd 'menghebohkan' dan 'menyaingi' fifty ???? Terlalu jauh bila mau di sejajarkan baik dg Fifty maupun Bared..... Apalagi Gabriel ??? Hell yeah BIG NO !!!
Kl mw di sejajarkan,gw bilang sih lebih selevel dg Anything He Wants.... Tapi Anything konflik nya lebih ada naik turunnya...
So,kesimpulannya ?? Bagi yg suka cerita erotica manis, buat 'cemilan',bolehlah seri Fade ini di coba.....
Tp....ini jenis cerita yg bakal cepet di baca dan cepet pula di lupakan.... Seengga2nya bagi gw.....
Meski ga gitu nendang,tp gw tetep ksh 3 bintang.... Why ??? Cz karakter Max Dalton cukup manis menurut gw... Kl ga,udh gw ksh 2 dah tuh.... (⌒˛⌒)
Overall I give this series 3.5 stars. It's a quick read and for those who want a general love story and intense love scenes without the buildup of a typical relationship it's the perfect book. Personally, I think they story was rushed and could have went further instead of the epilogue thrown at the end which threw 2 years worth of their story into a few paragraphs. One thing that I really enjoyed about the series was the relationship between Max and Olivia. They were carefree and the banter between the two made you feel like you could connect with them more.
I've really mixed feelings on this trilogy. On the one hand I couldn't put them down, on the other they are a bit bland! Standard contemporary romance - you're not really going to find any new scenes in these books.
I think that I was chasing a HEA and coping with the annoying bits.
I've pasted this in from the second book review as really it's just a book split into chapters to make more money out of us.
Overall: readable, but not exciting or breath taking in any way
The series was great however too short! I could've read more about this couple....plenty of sex scenes if you're into that but a good story after all! Felt that these characters could've been developed more but the novel was "rushed!". Some parts were predictable but overall...I liked it!
Ok so having completed the trilogy or whatever these books are I can write a review...ok wait I still can't cause I still waiting for the story to begin...so it lucky it get a star! Everything was porn or the family that annoying...no depth nor real point to any of it.Don't bother to read this it is a waste.
found myself skipping through the unrelated topics to get to the main plot..could have brought more detail in to this story :( its good for a short fast read..but found a lot of repetition even with the sex scenes :(
Good ending to a good story. I purchased and read these 3 books in 2012 that's why the volumes are different from today's version. I will read other books by this author.
I still can’t classify this as a ‘romance’; it is still very much a porno. I didn’t feel anything towards our little protagonist when that major “life threatening” experience happened. Not. A. Thing. It was more foreplay than anything truly dangerous, dontcha think?
Oooo now let’s move on to favorite quotes!!
Sometimes Grace could be really rational and insightful. Sometimes she could be really naïve. And Sometimes she could be both of those things at almost the same time”
This was a statement that was made by little Olivia after her sister has the au-da-city to claim that she was in love with Max, how dare she right? That Bitch…even though she hit the nail on the head…no, no you’re right Liv, she is just SO naïve! What the hell does she know, right? Damn sisters and their goddamned perception!
AND...
“But I’ll need an assistant, someone who will read all of my stuff and not bullshit me with empty praise. Just like you did the other day. You were so brilliant, Olivia. Your ideas made the story so much better”
Said after Olive juice, mentioned that there was on aspect of the girl’s reaction at a certain point in the story that she thought would work better if he changed it a little…YES, Olivia you ARE a great critic, there was AB-SO-LUTELY no bullshit there, you did make it better, the story WAS 10 times better because of your input and because of that one aspect of the girl’s reaction that could be slightly changed that you mentioned…You know what? Matter of fact, you busy? Cause I have a script I need you to read and since you’re so good at it, you can spare me the bullshit and give me a vague description of one of the character’s personality that could be indiscernibly altered at some random juncture in the script.
Thanks Liv, you my girl!
There were just so many quotes that had my WTS flaring up…let me stop here.
Max berusaha meyakinkan Olivia mengenai kebenaran kalau ia tak terlibat skandal yg sedang beredar.
Hubungan keduanyapun ternyata direstui.
I am going to try really hard to not spoil all three books, however, both of the times I have read the Fade Series I have plowed through all 3 books in one night. Why? Well, because I cannot put them down.
I was very quick to fall in love with Olivia and even faster to fall in love with Max. But then again, I am sucker for the hot rich and sexy man that everyone wants. One of the reasons that drew me into these books was not just the exciting sex scenes, but the banter between Max and Olivia. There is something special about a relationship that can pick and play with each other in the ways that Max and Olivia did throughout all three books. A relationship like this shows comfort and a growing relationship.
So many of these book with heroines with self esteem issues get old after a while. Olivia was no different, only that she was concerned with a broken heart than with whether or not she deserved to be with Max. She never really questioned his motivations and whether or not she deserved him. She just accepted what he had to offer her. That to me made these books special and realistic. The story between Max and Olivia is real, its something that happens everyday. Something that gives us hopeless romantics something to strive for and hope that true love is real and obtainable.
Because I am a hopeless romantic I couldn't put down the books and was turned on by hot and steamy sex scenes, I give Fade Into You, Fade Into Me, and Fade Into Always Five (5) Fabulous stars!
Max comes over to Olivia's to explain the picture of himself and the soap actress. It seems she doesn't know who the father is of her baby and wanted him to say he is, since they had dates a while. He said no.
Kevin, Olivia's boss puts the moves on her when they go out for a dirnk after work. She immediately quits her job. Max ends up offering for her to work with him as his editor.
Krystal confesses that she is doing porn and drugs and owes a pimp 20,000. Max offers to pay if she will go into rehab.
Olivia's parents and sister come to visit. They don't like her living in a big city. They go back to hotel and she calls Max and asks him to come over. He hadn't met her parents yet at her request. She hears her door opening and thinks it's Max, but it is Chris. Chris attacks her and she fights back and gets him down and calls the police. It seems he has also kidnapped Krystal and she is in his trunk.
Max meets her paents at the hospital and they ask him to take care of her.
5 stars

Likeable/Loveable characters Interesting storyline Beautiful Love development Sexy Male lead Scorching sexy scenes that are each different
I loved how Olivia was a little insecure in her realtionship with Max madfe it more believeable and I loved how down to earth Max was with a little cockiness for good measure and character building.
Definately you need to read this whole 3 part in one reading a real page turner.
The reason I couldnt give this a full five stars is that I couldnt help feeling it was like I was reading Fifty Shades of Grey, also some of the spelling mistakes were really annoying a few times I had to reread a part just to check what I was reading, I prefer a faultless flow, I am finding the spelling issue quite common in a lot of books today its really getting ridiculous.
Fade Into Always is the third and final novella in Kate Dawes three-part novella series. This book addresses all these issues as well as a few loose ends. Olivia’s roommate and friend appears to be headed down a very dark path that appears to involve drugs and pornography, and Olivia’s boss is making uncomfortable and blatant advances toward her that eventually force her to quit. She finds herself without a job, without a best friend, and without the support and love she craves from Max. Things only take a turn for the worse when her obsessed ex-boyfriend shows up back on the scene and stirs up trouble. The book is short, sexy, and to the point. The sexual connection between Olivia and Max is graphic and titillating, and he is definitely a character that will have women lusting long after they have finished the series. Enjoy.
I'm kinda disappointed. The whole series couldn't get better than 3 stars. It really couldn't.
What was good: The sex was hot! In this book as well as in the other two.
What was bad: The writing was not that great. Some of the plot just didn't make sense. I was rolling my eyes quite a lot, and even laughed out loud at some point.
I was actually waiting for something else to happen, something good maybe, don't know. Didn't happen. Oh well.
Simply amazing! I just had a feeling that physco Chris would come back and of course he did! It made my heart happy that he could finally open up to her family about her new life, because all that lying was getting out of hand! I found it sad that it took a tragedy to get her to open up to them! & I was so torn with how she didn't let her family meet Max at first, but then I see where she was coming from! It's not everyday that you meet a big shot Hollywood director & fall in love! I'm so glad they are married and have a kid! I wish we could have gotten more from that part in Olivia & max's life... So maybe we could get a book #4 ?! This is a must read, I loved every thing about this series!
There was nothing..I mean nothing Alpha about this hero. No dark and dangerous vibe. It has been my thing for so long. But I liked him. I liked the storyline and even the heroine. Simple erotic read.
I had a problem though..the author didn't complete few situation. I think the epilogue could have been written after clearing some things up. these few things were left out. They were like missing pieces. Gaps.
Hmm.. 4th book, which is a novel..I think it's totally unnecessary. A novel after a novella and epilogue was a bit silly. But there were so many gaps to be filled,it ended up being a novel.Overall, great writing, perfect characters, hot sex,bit of action,no too drama or stupid misunderstandings.
All three books were good, however, they could have all been combined into one without losing any of the effect. Though they were not the primary characters in the story, the roomie and exboyfriend should have been a little more in depth especially since Max was willing to shell out so much money for Krystal and just shrug it off as an it happens in this town kind of thing. And the thing with Chris should have been a little more elaborate especially since he was going to jail. It was a secondary story to the plot and really could have been omitted. Not the best thing I have read, but the three books proved to be super quick reads.

Truly a wonderful way to end a fun read, page turner book! I knew Chris will be back! Ha! There's always a villain in these kind of novels. I put 4 out of 5 stars because it's true! I love it, hey, but in 3books I have to say my favorite is the second - there are really good stuff there about Max and Olivia and I enjoyed book2 soooooooo much! :) Don't get me wrong tho the ending was fantafab! But. For me I just have to be honest and give book3 4stars :) kudos to Kate for an amazing Trilogy!! I'm keeping them for future read!
What a great ending to the series. I knew Chris would be back, though I had no idea how scary it would be. Totally off the deep end, that boy. I was happy that Olivia's idea of keeping Max separate from her family ultimately didn't happen. Not happy about why, but I'm happy they got to meet him. And she was able to come clean with everything else. I understand why she kept it from her family, but I'm glad it all came out. The epilogue was great, too. It's really sweet for things to work out so well. Great story overall.
This third installment Fade into Always had me hook from start till the finish. I love how the story is played out further and the level of intensity of the scenes gets up another notch. Believe me Max is a dream guy and I will let him take me wherever he liked just to be close to him. But in short I love the story and the characters and getting to see more of what's happening with the side characters is awesome and hard and the same time, but loving it all the way., Yes the speed off the story is still fast pace but its still understandable and it intrigues me a lot.
