The Mythological Atlas of Greece is a culmination of six years of intensive fieldwork and exhaustive study by the Spanish Hellenist experts Pedro Olalla and Aranzazu Priego. This is the first book in which the geography of Greek mythology is marked accurately on detailed maps. This work combines scholarly documentation and impressive photographs by gathering a wealth of information on the figures of Greek mythology, by inventorying the ancient literary sources, and by indicating all the ancient sites clearly on maps, with codification of their state of preservation today.

Pedro Olalla González de la Vega (Oviedo, España, 1966) es escritor, helenista, profesor, traductor y cineasta, y en estos campos desarrolla su actividad profesional en colaboración con editoriales e instituciones educativas y culturales de diversos países del mundo. Desde hace más de treinta y cinco años, mantiene una intensa relación con Grecia, país en el que se inició en el helenismo y en el que, en 1994, fijó su residencia. Sus obras literarias y audiovisuales exploran y dan a conocer la cultura griega y humanista combinando elementos literarios, plásticos y científicos mediante un lenguaje marcadamente personal. En el ámbito social, el autor defiende activamente mediante sus escritos, iniciativas, conferencias e intervenciones públicas, una mayor participación del ciudadano en la toma de decisiones políticas y en la definición del interés común.

what a perfect book. you search the god or hero you want to look up and are presented with all the real places in greece, where this person has made mythological history. there are plenty of pictures, references, illustrations and the book is very thorough. for me as a myth and ruin freak this is the perfect book. i am very happy i found this in a good price and decided to buy it. this is the ancient greek gods and heroes bible :-)
