Award-winning humor writer Jackie Papandrew offers us a look into her funny family and goofball psyche with true stories that will have you rolling on the floor. A memorable frolic through motherhood, this book should come with a free package of Depends. You might just wet your pants reading it! "Jackie Papandrew is a genius at laughing at herself when she just can’t seem to get the motherhood thing down pat," says Susan Heim, parenting author and Chicken Soup for the Soul editor. "If you’re a parent, you’ve really got to read Days of Derangement! These short stories can easily be squeezed into your busy day and bring a smile to your face when you’re feeling the stresses of motherhood and marriage."
This book even though it was quite well written wasn't for me. I started it thinking it was ok but I just couldn't get into it.
It is great in the sense that it was very much like real life and I felt like I could relate to some of the day to day issues that were mentioned but I just couldn't get into it.
The writing style was good and I will probably give this another go some time in the future but for now I'm going to pop it to one side.
Very funny. In the beginning I thought it would be like an immitation of Ephraim Kishon's stories, but it is not. Jackie Papandrew has an original writing style, the stories are short and to the point, reflect modern family life.
While I identified with the author as a parent, and found many parts funny, I had a hard time finishing this. Perhaps if it had been written as a story rather than newspaper columns, I might have enjoyed it more.
I’ve come to the conclusion that I should stop reading self published books unless someone else has read them first. There’s a lot of junk out there flooding the market. This is one of them. Sorry but this need help.
