I'm dipping my toes into goodreads to see how it works. Thanks for finding me here, and thanks to everyone who has read and written about my books. I love to know you're there, even if I don't come here too often to say so.
Helen Frost is the author of eleven novels-in-poems and seven picture books for children and young adults. She lives in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Aeverie and I read this together after school and it was an informative little story covering the T-Rex. He loves dinosaurs, but I think he was looking more for a story about a dinosaur rather than an educational one. Even though, the illustrations were marvelous and he did enjoy seeing those.
First, I need to explain that this book chosen from Goodreads is a Pebble Plus book about Tyrannosaurus Rex, but is most likely not the same book I read on Pebble Go. Since I could not see the cover on Pebble Go and the citation did not provide an author, I chose the closest book I could find to do my review. The book, Tyrannosaur Rex by Pebble GO, would appeal mostly to boys from kindergarten through second grade. It was appealing due to its simple text and rich illustrations. One thing I did not like about the ebook was that there were a few bolded words (prey, predator and scavenger) that the book did not provide definitions for in text nor did it provide a glossary of terms to define these words. Boys really like dinosaurs and this ebook would be great for early and struggling readers.
I thought this was a good introduction to the dinosaur - T-Rex that so many children enjoying reading about and learning about through television (especially Dinosaur Train).
This book was very easy to read and by that I mean it had a few short sentences on each page. These sentences are all facts about the T-Rex. My son loved this book and the short sentences helped keep his attention. The illustrations are not bad either.
