This book is about a Dinosaur called Sid, who loses his voice/ roar. The front cover of the book, is very colourful which will initially attract young readers to read the book.

Furthermore, many young readers, who like dinosaurs will also be attracted to read the book.
The storyline is very simple, however, it includes comedy and colourful illustrations and pictures which back-up the story making it more interactive and interesting for young readers.

"This is a story about five dinosaurs--Sid, Spike, Ross, Ollie, and Rex."

You can't go wrong with an opening like that!

A great book about a dinosaur who scares his friends, falls ill, and then has to save them. Great for getting children to think about telling jokes and how some people may not find jokes funny.

The Dinosaur Who Lost His Roar is the story of Sid the dinosaur who loves scaring the other dinosaurs but they don't enjoy it and then one day Sid discovers what happens if he lost his voice.

This is a nice story but shortly after starting reading it it reminded me of another story we'd bot long read which had pretty much the same storyline but in a different book. Which book came first and who's copying who, I don't know, but I know that I and the children preferred the other book over this one as whilst this is a nice story it takes a lot longer to get to the point in this book than the other one we read. For this reason the children weren't too interested in this book as it felt too long and we'd heard the story before.

The illustrations are nice with fun looking dinosaurs and a more colourful and pretty look than other dinosaur books we've read. The children liked seeing the dinosaurs in the story and watching them react to Sid but the pictures didn't keep their attention for the whole story.

This is a nice story to remind us that we should be considerate of others and no cry wolf unnecessarily. It's a good book but we preferred the other similar story we read over this one.

This dino loved to go around scaring his friends with his great roar. One day he woke up with a soar throat and could not roar. He went to all his friends and tried but nothing came out. Then he went looking for his friend again but no one was around. All of his friends were captured by a giant T-rex. Sid gave it his best shot and roared so loud that the T-rex ran away and never came back. Cute book about how some things are better in the right timing.

The book is about a dinosaur, who kept on scaring his friends by creeping up behind them and roaring really load. This led to the dinosaur losing his voice! The book is about friendship being tested and courage. My son enjoyed the story, illustrations, and understood the moral of the story.

This was a cute book. When I started reading and realized how long it was I did not think my newly 2 year old would stay interested for long, but she really liked it and we made it through the whole book! She roared and croaked with Sid and celebrated at the end.

A fun story where kids can learn that its not nice to play jokes on your friends if they don't think it's funny too; and also that its important to use your skills when they are really needed!

Read to my nephew, who loves Dinosaurs and was giggly and entertained as I read with all the voices and enthusiasm as the story progresses.

I love this. It is so cute. I love all the dinosaur names. The names are Sid, Spike, Ross, Ollie, and Rex.Rex is the mean one but also the scared one.Sid is the main one in the story. It takes exactly 5 minutes to read.

Sid scares the 3 dinosaurs. He got a sore throat from roaring. when he got better, he went for a walk to say sorry but they were not there. A big dinosaur caught them to eat for dinner but Sid gave the loudest roar and the big dinosaur ran away.

A cute story in logical rhymes!
(I'm not sure I liked the dinos standing on two legs - that makes them a predator. But that's the only thing that was strange.)

I read this story not long after reading Boo! - Colin McNaught and felt a similar rhythm to the story, they both bought a smile and I like that the endings lead to their own clever conclusions.

The dinosaur's throat went hoarse from shouting; this picture book's plot is particularly ingenious.

Sid loves to sneak up behind his friends and scare them with his ferocious roar, which his friends don't enjoy nearly as much as he does. One day, he gets a sore throat, and his roar is gone. When he goes to visit his friends, they are gone, too! Now, his friends are in danger. Will Sid be able to save them with his powerful voice? This cartoon illustrations use almost neon colors, causing the dinosaurs' presence on (or absence from) the page to be immediately apparent to the reader, with simple text and an engaging story. Suitable for beginning readers aged 5 to 8. Recommended purchase.

Lovely illustrations and a positive message

A friend of mine lent me this neat little book and I just read it to my child. The illustrations are quite charming; I like the vivid colours and character definition. The text itself is in rhyme, which I find very useful in teaching children to enjoy reading, intonation and drama. I will definitely use this in my English lessons with my little students to teach them about nature, colours, actions, role-play; but also the importance of being kind, brave and a good friend. And they will have a blast playing dinosaurs, no doubt there!

Brilliant, at the end I liked the bit when the other dinosaurs cheered for sid.

Before that I liked the bit when Sid scared Rex.

And I liked the bit when Sid followed the footprints, and last but not least I liked the bit when Sid thought about the dinosaur's feet.

I liked the pictures, and the bit where he croaked at everyone.

I liked the bit when Sid laughed at everyone and grinned.
