This is an alternate cover edition for B0094A9KI0.

When I moved back home, I was at my most vulnerable: no job, newly divorced from my possessive ex, and living with my parents…which might have been okay if I could get along with my mother.

Once I’m settled in, I find a job quickly—and a guy named Scott who makes my pulse quicken, both because he’s a sexy tattooed drummer and also because he’s an arrogant prick. I love him as much as I hate him—but I’m damaged goods and have no right to him. Besides, this bad boy has his own possessive not to mention his own issues.

Can we heal each other and find redemption, or are we destined to live our lives alone?

I so wanted to like this book. By the description of this book I thought this would be a pretty good read. I read each page hoping it would get better. It started off differently from most books. Almost like a diary. I thought ok maybe this is just a new technic.
I didn't think the book flowed very well and the story line was choppy at best.
*spoiler*
The fact that Casey was attacked physically by Jim in the bar and nothing was said of it. Then she was almost raped by Jim in her boyfriends house and the only thing done was Scott gave Jim a "Shiner" as he grabbed him off of her. And yet she stilled worked with him, was in the car that dropped Scott off at her house, and no confrontation or charged were made!!!! What!! That just made me sick.
Scott I thought was going to turn out to be some dream but.... He just let Jim do all those things to Casey. Then! When her ex husband DRAGS her out of the house and forces her in his car all the whole Scott is just standing by.
The listen explanation given to explain Scott's non actions were so weak it turned my stomach.
Not to mention her ridiculous action of running away because she "thought" she was pregnant.
The whole thing was unbelievable and left a bad taste in my mouth.
Only hi-light was her best friend and Scott's cousin Dave. I would of rather of read the story about him then anything else.

Casey and Scott...how do I love thee...let me count the ways =)

I got this book as part of Backstage Passion but I want to review each book separately. I really liked this book for many reasons.
First of all...the whole going back home thing after being on your own was something I could really relate to (been there and done that)and it was SO not easy to do or pleasant and that is exactly how I felt.
Secondly...starting over from the bottom trying to make money any way possible, so that you can be independant again and escape the strings of mom and dad, is also something I (as well as many other women I'm sure)really understand and the whole journey that Casey went on, I was with her...rooting for her...supporting her...and feeling her frustrations! Finding her true passion in art was a big bonus!
Scott came off at first as being cocky and aloof and I wasn't sure I was going to like him...but lo and behold...we get to see him in a whole new light and the story gloriously goes from there.
It contained passion, sexy lovemaking, music to bind the hearts and a little bit of ugly violence thrown in to keep things interesting. I was nervous for Casey the whole way through though, and held my breath till the last chapter. Great, fun read.

*****5***** Kiss me hard stars =)

I might have given this book 5 stars, but for the fact that I found Casey maddening. The story is told completely from her first-person POV, but I never fully understood or related to her. I don’t think that’s the fault of the author. I just couldn’t relate to Casey’s actions at all and I never really felt her pain. I read this book years ago when it was called “Then Kiss Me,” which became immediately apparent to me as soon as I started reading and recognized the character names and initial events. The description said that this book was different somehow. It wasn’t different enough to justify reading it again, since I really didn’t like Casey.

There were a couple of things I liked about the book. I liked the introduction of Nicki Sosebee, the main character from Ms. Jamison’s other series of mystery books (which I haven’t yet read). I loved some of her metaphors/imagery, like this one: “My flesh crawled. If it could have, it would have jumped off my bones in an attempt to avoid his lips.”

There are some potentially triggering themes including domestic abuse and rape. I think these are addressed in a sensitive manner and never cross over to gratuitous. They are vivid enough to paint a clear picture without going overboard. I found it interesting when an attack brings on a memory that Casey had forgotten. She wonders, “How the hell had that escaped my mind?” This was an insightful moment in the story because it reminds the reader that, as human beings trying to survive in a cruel world, we often push down the bad memories to cope, and our minds are so good at protecting us, we actually forget what we’ve repressed. Until the memory is provoked by outside forces.

Although I didn’t love the book, I cannot deny it is well-written and realistic, painting a memorable picture of characters and events in a small town. It was worth reading once but it’s not a story I’d be drawn to read repeatedly.

I love Jade C Jamison's writing so I'm merrily reading anything and everything I can from her previous releases.

"Then Kiss Me" was an unusual book. I loved it don't get me wrong but there was a difference to the writing style from Jade's more recent books. Whether it was deliberate or not it worked from my perspective. I suspect Jade just developed her own writing style from this point forward.

I really enjoyed the story and the relationship which developed between Casey and Scott. The characters blended well together although Casey was another female lead who I wanted to scream at and possibly get violent with, despite that the story ended with a HEA so I'm a happy bunny!

Although Scott plays in a band this is not really what I term a "band based" book, unlike some of Jade's other books, but the connection worked and brought the characters closer together.

What shall I read next???!!!! MADversary me thinks.

Casey is an artist who has left her loveless marriage with the intension of starting her life over. With plans of exploring her passion for painting and drawing, she quickly gets a "day job," a rental home, and a crush on one of her new co-workers. Finding out he is the drummer in a local metal band is the very best flavor of icing on the cake. Soon Casey and Scott are inseparable, until something has Casey running and leaving this life behind as well. Will she always be on the run, or is Scott a reason to return?

I am very drawn to Casey. There are times when I would love to run from everything that is my current life and holler "do over" like a child playing marbles on the playground. Not only did she do it, but she did it with gusto! I loved this story. The more I read from Jade's works, the more I want to read them all!

I couldn't put this book down. The challenges Casey faced returning to her hometown were so compelling. I loved David and Scott. I don't want to give away any of the story but believe me when I say that this book is Jade C. Jamison at her very best. I'm looking forward to the second book in the series.

I started this book yesterday and finished it today. I couldn’t put it down. The things Casey had to go through to finally find herself were so real. Her friendship with David was very refreshing. Love her and Scott and how they both helped each other to become a better version of themselves.. Five stars all the way. Ready for book 2

Why 4 Stars?? Because this is as close to a true to real life romance I have read in a long time. No OTT Insta love, no billionaire, mafia, biker, unnecessary drama, no non-communication skills.....

It's a straight up small town romance where two people meet working the grill at a local restaurant and fall in love with each other... She has a pregnancy scare and runs for fear of rejection... He knows something not right with her leaving on a dime...

She learns she was never pregnant and retuns and feeling are hurt... The lines of communication are open, fellings are validated and the love continues to grow for the couple... Leaving the readers with a sense of life time happiness and love.

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

Now I am going to start this review out by saying DUDE SCOTT….YUMMMM in so many way. He is the “bad boy” or is he? I mean he is the guy every woman wants but is he the player we think he is??? I llllllloved his character and the chemistry between Casey and him.

Casey….Ok so I understood Casey a lot in the book. Being someone who is divorced I got why she shied away from a relationship right away and was more looking for a good time. BUT there were times in the book when I wanted to straight punch her in the face and steal Scott away from her because she was an absolute idiot.

Now, are both of these characters flawed? Yes. Do they both have some past issues that cause problems for their current situation?? HELL Yes. But haven’t we all done stupid crap and then wanted to kick our own ass in the end??? UHM YES!!

This story is about Casey, who just got divorced and came home due to lack of funds to live anywhere else. She meets Scott and the chemistry is instant. We see them flirting and start to wonder if the line will ever get crossed. Along the way, Casey befriends David, Scott’s cousin, but stays clear of Jim, Scott’s brother from another mother. Casey also has to deal with the nosy ex sniffing around her and Scott’s blooming relationship and putting “thoughts” into her head.
We see the couple dealing with a lot of problems and sometimes they worked it out correctly and then times…well remember when I said I wanted to punch Casey???? Yeah that stuff happens. But in the end these two need to decide if what they have is worth it all and worth the risks loving someone is.

Again, I am going to say, Scott is everything in this novel so be ready for him claim a spot in there along with other favorite guys in Jade’s catalog of men.

I bought this book just because I loved Jade’s rocker book Bullet and need to read another rocker book. So thought I would give this one a try. What can I say I loved this one too! Don’t get me wrong there were times I was shaking my Nook just wishing it was Casey I was shaking and found myself yelling at her “what are you thinking girl”. Hello Scott, who wouldn’t love him, he can cook, plays the drums in a heavy metal band, and supper sweet when you get to know him.

Casey realizes her she no longer loves her husband gets a divorce and moves in with her parents. This only lasted a few days because she got a job at Bob’s Southern BBQ, rented a 2 bedroom house, and puts some of her art work on display for sale. Enters Scott, who she sees when she is interviewing for the job at Bob’s Southern BBQ. Casey becomes close friends with Scott’s cousin David who also works at Bob’s. Things are going good for Casey and Scott then just like everything else in Casey life it starts to fall apart. So she does what she has to do and runs away, that’s right she runs......Leaves Scott heartbroken and runs. This is where I start shaking my Nook and wishing I could slap some since into Casey. Want to find out the rest of the story you'll just have to purchase the book because I'm not telling. Happy Readings.

Well, it was good but it dragged in places. The characters were interesting and believable, I just didn't really relate to Casey. So in the end its a good, relatable and believable story and characters. But I just didn't relate to Casey!

Casey ~ Don't get me wrong she was a hoot, but at the same time I just didn't like her. I really don't get why she ran when she thought she might be pregnant. I mean she's 26/27, she dealt with it like a teenager. I know from experience, I became pregnant when I was 19 but I didn't run I dealt with the consequences and became a single mom at 20. But in the end she did put on her big girl panties and face the consequences of her actions! I just thought it was too easy for her when she came back! But that's my own opinion!

Scott ~ I liked/love him a lot, he was such a good guy even with the rocker facade! He didn't play it like he was one. I think that's why he stood out so much to me, I would of seen him make Casey apologize and/or prove how sorry she was. Instead he took her back with almost no explanation, but hey to each his own!

Overall its a great story, I just didn't like Casey! But she isn't the firstMC I haven't liked and probally want be the last!

Till next time ~ Sweets Books

I didn't really connect with this book. There was nothing wrong with the writing but I found it a bit boring. Nothing in the story made me want to keep turning the pages to find out what happened next. I did finish the book and the author did try and inject some drama but all of it just fell a bit flat. The whole ex-husband episode really didn't add anything other than make the H Scott look a bit of a wimp. I love a strong alpha male but unfortunately Scott fell short of this and seemed to be far to easily manipulated by people he considered friends. The h Casey spent most of the time telling us that she hadn't acted in various ways since she was sixteen and then proceeded to carry on acting the same way. So in conclusion this was just an OK read for me and not one that I'll ever re-read.

Great characters!

This was previously released under the title “Then Kiss Me” and I read it many moons ago. I loved Scott and Casey then and still do. Although there were a minimum of dark scenes, for the most part it is a sweet love story.

The romance between Scott and Casey was not easy. They both had to figure out what they needed for their HEA. I enjoyed as Casey learned to deal with her past and how to move on. Their story was filled with plenty of drama that kept me wanting to see what would happen next.

Fantastic Emotional Read

Casey is recently divorce from a domineering, abusive husband that does not want to let go. She tucks her tail between her legs and leaves the big city of Denver to run home to her parents and her small hometown of Winchester, Colorado. Now she is there she feels like a fool. She has never been able to live up to what her mother wants for her. She will never compare to her perfect older sister. Her one alley is her father. She knows she can not survive living with her parents so she needs to find a job to support herself and a place of her own to live. Her dream job is as an artist, but she know that will not support her so she will pursue her dream on the side. When she gets a job at Bob’s Southern BBQ, she meets sexy fellow cook, Scott. The strong immediate attraction has her thinking maybe she is ready for a rebound guy, but this one comes with load of issues. Both Casey and Scott are on their own road to discover who they are and what they really want in life. It is a very bumpy road for each of them and even bumpier together. This is an emotional story with lots of drama along the way. Jade C. Jamison does a wonderful job of portraying the characters. Many will be able to relate parts of this story to their own lives.
I received an ARC of this book from the author in return for voluntarily writing an honest review.

Casey and Scott—they met working as cooks in a diner. She was recently divorced, and he was a little shy about being in a relationship. But they couldn’t fight the attraction between them. She leaves town when she thinks she’s pregnant and she’s scared, so when she learns she’s not and comes back, he’s not receptive. When her ex shows up and tries to physically drag her away, Scott defends her and gets her away from the ex. They’re still not OK, but then she gives it one last ditch effort and tells him she loves him and he makes her promise never to leave again or keep anything from him again. So she moves in and their HEA begins. Some of the reactions in the book don’t feel realistic and Casey’s mood swings are a little over the top. I’d give it 3.5 stars if I could.

I have a lot in common with Casey – we both should’ve never married the person we did, both had a nasty divorce and we both moved back “home”. It was like Ms. Jamison was writing my life story….. except I am still looking for my Scott.

Casey and Scott are both on a journey to discover who they really are and want they want out of life. Its not all sunshine and roses, that is for sure! Between Jim (the creep) and her ex-Barry, there was enough drama to keep me turning the pages. David – heck everyone needs a BFF like David!

Finding everlasting love

Casey and Scott after she moves back after her divorce. She always loved art and working with it. Scott was a drummer on a local band. Together they met while working at a local Barb-b-q. Love blooms and turns into happily ever after.
