I’m an assassin. My first mission? To kill the most powerful Vampire in Europe. What can possibly go wrong?
Entering The Gambit, a sinful supernatural club owned by Count Balthazar Rossi is the last thing I want to do. But I’ve been imprisoned in a vampire coven all my life, and to escape my stepfather’s vicious rule, I’ll do anything, even attempt this impossible task.
Inside the club, I don’t know where to look. Half-naked demons, deadly fae, sexy shifters, and beautiful Original vampires eye me like I’m dinner. I’m way out of my depth, and I know it.
When my assassination attempt is defeated by the Count’s lethal and sexy second in command, I know my life is forfeit.
Davlov Zoltar is hot, broody, and dangerous. Exactly the type who pushes all my buttons. The problem? I’m the lowest of the low, a half-blood human. And he’s an Original vampire—my enemy.
When I find myself chained to his wall, I’ll do whatever it takes to escape with my life.
Except Davlov introduces me to a different world, one where I can be strong and in control. I soon discover my whole life is a lie. It shouldn’t surprise me, not when my stepfather treated me worse than a blood slave. Now my goal has completely shifted. I’ll get out of this situation alive, then vengeance will be mine.
But can I really walk away when Davlov’s touch makes not only my blood but my soul, sing?
This standalone M/M vampire paranormal romance novella is set in the dark and seductive world of The Blood Throne Saga where vampires are powerful, sexy, and have no rules about who they play with. Anyone is fair game.

4.5 STARS | DARK and DELICIOUSLY SPICY as VAMPIRE CHAINED is the perfect M/M Romance to read for the spooky season! I loved this book and loved the two MMC’s! If you love gay alpha vampires, this book will seal the deal! The story follows Elliot is an assassin and is on a mission to kill the most powerful vampire in Europe. When he enters The Gambit, a sinful club owned by Count Balthazar Rossi, he is then attached to Davolv Zoltar, the Count’s lethal and sexy 2nd in command. Elliot is then chained in the dungeon as Davolv determines to know why Elliot wants to kill the Count. And it might make Davolv protective for Elliot as he tells why. But can Elliot walk away when Davlov’s touch make his blood and soul sing? A fast-paced gay novella that is steamy and was absolutely enjoyable!
I actually had a great time reading this!, this is a new author for me, it came up in my feed and I couldn't ignore this cover, it is sooo good!.
Taking into account the length I don't expect a super deep drawn-up character/romance/plot development so I can't even complain about that; vampires and paranormal books are usually neither my go-to, it is just lately that I've been having fun reading some of them. I just know that even with holes here and there I enjoyed it and even had some giggles with some of the dialogue bringing some telenovela drama.
I love both Elliot and Dav as well as the secondary characters, I'm quite curious to see Count Balthazar story too in the future.
This was a super quick and easy read with a good plot line. It does read as an opener to a series so expect lots of plot points to not be wrapped up at the end. In fact the epilogue gave more questions than answers. The main characters ARC however, of them becoming mates was satisfactory and had some really great moments. Did I get frustrated with them at times yes, but that kinda tells me I’m invested. The spice was lower than I expected (I don’t know why when this is the first book I’ve read by this author, but some reviews made it out to be very spicy…?)
Overall an enjoyable read and good take on the vampire romance.
Great shorter story to lead to a new series that I’m excited to read when it comes out! This was a M/M romance with mate bonds and great plot, backstory and the spice was an integral part of the storyline and well done! Definitely can’t wait to see what the next book brings and what happens with these characters in the series to come!
With this steamy, quick prequel read we get an glimpse at this world and its vampires. Dav and Elliot start out on opposite sides of a long time conflict but not everything is as Elliot has been led to believe. Some smexy times and lots if hints for the series to come.
Very Harlequinesque. Not much relationship development. No communication. Dem became cold and distant because of his own issues. Relationship started out D/s but was dropped. Plotholes. Storyline was cut short. Epilogue was unfulfilling.
I telly enjoyed this story, it is dark and romantic with plenty of drama and steam. I really shouted Elliot’s growth throughout the story and how sweet Dav is.
If you love J.R. Ward's The Black Dagger Brotherhood series you're going to love Karen Tomlinson's 'VAMPIRE CHAINED' novella from her new & exciting The Blood Throne Saga Series!
If your not sure you'll enjoy male-on-male sex scenes, I truly suggest you check this one out. It's quite tame on the spice scale, while exceptionally well written. Honestly I'd rate The man-on-man 'Spice' as 1🌶 out of 5🌶. Easing you in gently, like a caring & compassionate lover.
In this quick and easy read novella Karen Tomlinson introducing us to her hot & sexy as sin intriguing new vampire world 'The Blood Throne Saga.' A M/M Vampire paranormal romance set in a dark & seductive world where multiple 'Supernatural's' exsist right along side us, with most passing as human.
Meet our main characters; Elliott: a young handsome half original vampire and half human tortured & imprisoned for the 1st 25 years of his life. His only crime, being born & punished for his mother's wrongdoings by his evil stepfather Victor Hamilton, a ruthless & powerful Made Vampire.
Davlov Zoltar: a 600+ y.o. Original Vampire. His old, power & loyal to a fault, well until Elliot walks into The Gambit.
Count Balthazar Rossi: Older than his oldest friend Dav Zoltar, Rossi is even more powerful than the Vampire King sitting on The Blood Throne & the most powerful Original Vampire in Europe. Shadows move around him as moves.
This is a male to male romance that is quite tame actually with the sex scenes
This is the meeting of Elliot & Dav & their love story, and while the war between the Original & Made's has been waging/raging for some time, the meeting of these two brings the footsteps of this war right to Count Balthazar Rossi's doorstep! He can no longer sit by as a spectator.
I can not wait for 'Blood Lust': Book #1 in The Blood Throne Saga Series.
I RATE VAMPIRE CHAINED 5☆ OUT OF 5☆
I highly recommend this book, series & author. Happy Reading!

Well, Elliot is as blank as Twilights Bella. He might not be a teenager (at least that), but he never left the house and his daily (!) live has been torture. He does not have a single person to confine in and no hobby or occupation that kept him sane. Despite this, he seems well adjusted enough not to behave absolutely phenomenally strange among humans or vampires. If not for the damn fated mates trope, there is zero reason the older very competent vampire would see him as anything more than a rescue case. And of course Elliott learns with lightning speed, faster than the best and impresses the older vampire, just because. Just because of genetics? Lame. Learning is a skill too, and there is zero evidence in the story that he practiced in.
And Dev promised Elliot not to do anything sexual with him (even if he wants it) while he is still his prisoner. And he promised himself, he would not do anything sexual while Elliott could still be compulsed, even if he wants it and is not compulsed in that situation. And then Dev gets a bit angry, the compulsion is still clearly an option, he frightens Elliot and against all his promises to Elliot and himself, he is getting sexual with Elliot. Dev afterwards: "Being with me had to always be a choice."
Oh, and of course the ancient vampire is dramatically withdrawn after he gave the love-starved Elliot his full attention just long enough for Elliot to trust him a bit. Shouldn't half a thousand years of life teach you a bit more emotional maturity?
All the cheap drama, as if they were 13, not adults.
Last but not least: "Don't leave the room or somebody can't control themselves and will rape you". Yikes.
This was a really good story. First time reading this author and can’t say anything bad. The author knows how to draw you into the story and keep you hooked.
Elliot hasn’t had a great life since he was born. He suffers from so much trauma this has happened to him by his own Stepfather. When he is given an assignment, he has no choice but to follow it. He doesn’t think he will succeed but he doesn’t have a choice. When he tries and gets caught, he doesn’t expect Dav to save him.
Dav is the 2nd in command to his Count. He is the protector and everyone fears him. When he sees the human, he can’t help but feel the pull towards him and needs to know more about him. When he sees what he is going to do, he is there to stop it.
These two are so good together and Dav helps Elliot learn more about himself. These two must come together and see what everone else does.
This is the first book I have read by Karen Tomlinson. I was not disappointed. This novella is a M/M love story set in the world of the Blood Throne Saga a future series being released by this author. The two main characters have an amazing chemistry. Elliot has suffered a very abusive and stunted life. Dav is a powerful and loyal ancient vampire. He is the main enforcer and best friend of the Count. It is his job to protect the Count at all costs. So when an assassination of the Count is attempted, Dav's world is turned upside down. This story is a great introduction to several characters and sets up background information for the setting of the new series. I highly recommend this story and I will be checking out more of this authors books. She has gotten a new fan in me.
This is a brand new author to me and I literally stumbled onto this book. But I am so glad I did! I can’t believe this is just the Novela in a larger series that I’m hoping it’s still coming out??
Story: 5/5 quick and oh so good Steam: 4/5 it’s a short book…first kiss around 45% though the tension is delicious.
Davlov is second in command to the most powerful vampire lord who Elliot has been sent to try and assassinate. Dav immediately recognizes that Elliot is no assassin but is rather his fated mate.
Elliott slowly learns his whole life has been a lie and starts to believe he has nothing to fear from Dav.
Beautiful claiming and a super sweet HEA that gives suck a teaser for for to come.
It is a nice introduction to a new up and coming series... I liked Dav and Elliott... I look forward to reading more about them in future books... I wonder how Victor plans to take the throne... The hinting of Sorcha and Count Bal's relationship is promising...
Nothing personal, I just didn’t like that Eliot came across so incapable, think it was more of an issue with the trope. I can’t really put my finger on what I didn’t enjoy about this book - possibly the way the writing came across. It was a lot of telling rather than showing.
This was short, and there wasn't much time for getting to know the characters or to make much of a plot, so there is a fair amount of unsubtle content that is just unloading facts on you. Still, it was quick and hot and I always love reading vampire stories.
Yummy! A deliciously sexy m/m vampire romance that sucked me in from the start. I loved the characters and enjoyed watching their story unfold. More please!
This is a standalone M/M vampire paranormal romance novella set in the dark and seductive world of The Blood Throne Saga where vampires are powerful, sexy, and have no rules about who they play with. Anyone is fair game.
I love these characters so much, and can't wait for the Blood Throne Saga to come out next year! Here's the description for this spicy novella! You can read on KU or buy from Amazon. It may go up for sale on other retailers in the future, too.

I'm always excited to find more vampires in MM and this was a fast-paced, action & spicy read. Elliot & Dav have so much chemistry, there is some lack of communication here but it worked with the story.
Elliott's history broke my heart, I adore how he develops in the tale finally recognising the truth and coming into his own. Able to stand for himself at last and goes after what he wants in the end, it was lovely to see him find a home at last.
Dav is wonderful and frustrating, yet understandable his reluctant to get too close when worried over the count. His desire and loyalty at war, can't help but fall for him though as can see how much he adores Elliott.
These two are stunning together with all the heat, fight and connection between them is obvious. All of the passion and I adored seeing Elliot awaken to his vampire side, that first bite scene was stunning & full of heat 🔥
Overall I was entertained and for a short read it was perfect, there are aspects left towards future plot and the series starting which sounded interesting. I did love the world building, Dav & Elliot get their happy ending.
I'm not usually into books about male-on-male relationships. But this book was written so well that I could get past my preferences and enjoy it. It helps a lot that it was based in the same world as her Shadow Sentinels. We were introduced to Count Balthazar Rossi then, and now we are getting to know him better.
But the real story is Dav and Elliot. Two vampires who couldn't be more different. But, as they say, opposites attract. Elliot is half-human and fully believes he is beneath someone as powerful, not to mention beautiful, as Davlov. And Dav worries that Elliot is simply too innocent for him.
Yet, when they get together, sparks fly. This was written so well that I even enjoyed the love scenes. These two were so desperate for each other that I couldn't help but be drawn in.
This is the start of a new series, The Blood Throne Saga, and I can't wait to get my hands on book 2. I do so love your writing, Karen Tomlinson!
Well done, lady! Exceptionally well done! But then, I expect no less!
