He's the most ideal guy in the world – a college dude, standing tall with that perfect sun-kissed look. He's the answer to every wishful thinking and the gift that heaven prepared for the luckiest girl alive. He has everything that you could ever think of, including that hateful revenge that is pointed towards her.

She's the happy-go-lucky gal – no perfect tan or a bombshell body. She's just that girl in that lifeguard chair dressed in dark, tight fitted clothes that is neither attractive nor repulsive. In a town as small as hers, hearing the news that he's coming back is something that she can't avoid. But shoving the warnings aside, she swears that she knows best.

She is the girl that he plans to take revenge on and he is her worst nightmare. But things turn out a little differently as the crisses are crossed and truths are revealed. It's a love-hate... hate story of two people who are sworn to be enemies. One involving a whole lot of drowning, saving, and making memories, like those of yesterday's.

Review:

CHARACTERS: Reese is a cheerful teenager who loves her family and friends so much. She also loves Jace, a neighbor whom she had a huge crush on, but due to some circumstances that happened during their Sophomore year, that love-feeling turned to hate. Jace is one of those popular kids in high school. He’s part of the band that makes every girl in their high school drool over them, including Reese. Claire and Mason are Reese’s most loyal friends, which helped her solved the mystery two years ago. Brittany and Nick were the characters that I wanted to bury 100 feet underground. But really, I wanted to personally strip off Brittany out of the story. She’s just too much!

PLOT: I started reading Like Yesterday out of curiosity because of it’s title.

It’s Summer time and Reese is working as a lifeguard on the beach. Jace is back and will be the one to boss them around since their previous boss will be on leave for the Summer. And that is Reese’s major problem because she wanted to avoid Jace after two years of being away from their place. Reese and Jace were schoolmates, neighbors and had something for each other. Until that faithful day wherein Reese was embarrassed to the whole campus because of that message she received from Jace. So Reese wanted to avoid him at any cost but faith seems to have a plan on them. Reese never forget what happened two years ago, and Jace wanted to know why Reese did what she did two years ago to their band. But then, Jace’s band needed a guitar player and Reese was there to help them in exchange of their forgiveness. Reese and Jace had feelings for each other. They almost become a couple if not for that tragic incident. But if one truly loves that person, no matter what happens, he or she will always be there and would listen to what explanation she would give. It took them two years before they resolve the issue but it was so worth it.

I personally like the story. It’s a light read and interesting. I, myself also had a huge crush on someone during my high school year. We’re just friends and until now we are though we seldom talk because of our busy schedule. Just like Reese and Jace, even after many years passed, our friendship is still there and nothing much changed.

Good read if you want to kill time.
But for me, its too shallow.
They hold grudges for years just because of misunderstanding.
I don't want to finish it anymore but I'm just a few chapters away so I made a quick read.
Anyhow, the ending is kinda cute.

Jace Hamilton is the epitome of 'boyfriend goodness'! He nailed all the perfect grades in the plotline, and obviously won the girl of his dreams.

About Reece, our quirky MC, I certainly can say that I loved her narration and her imagination. She's one weird, overthinking human, I tell you. She's constantly being oblivious which I think is definitely cute, and cannot exactly be ruled out as "irritating", she had her reasons.

Also, her mood swings were amusing. Hell, she went in seconds from being utterly mortified and angry to contrite and confused.

But... all in all, this book has certainly been added to my list of "CUTEST BOOKS OF THE LIFETIME" and I'm looking forward to have this book join my library!

One of my all-time favorite Wattpad classics of the early 2010s era (arguably the peak of Wattpad.)

As a teenager, I loved this novel - and as a twenty two almost twenty three year old, I’m not ashamed to say that I am still in love with this novel.
Little me was falling in love with Jace while older me stayed in love with him. He is without a doubt one of the least problematic love interests in an enemies-to-lovers romance that I’ve ever read. I never felt ashamed for loving Jace because he was such a stand up guy.

The banter between Reese and Jace paved the way for my guilty pleasure and addiction to the enemies to lovers trope.

Like Yesterday is the ultimate nostalgic read and rereading it over the years has gotten me out of many reading slumps.

Not as good as "My kind of perfect" but i really really utterly liked it. the characters were broken, misunderstandings were eating them up, it was cliche but awesome.

So I wasn't really sure how this story would go down when I started it. It was slow and very confusing at first, but I still liked it. I kept imagining Jace Hamilton as Zac Efron for some reason.

In my opinion, I think this whole book could be solved easily if they just communicated. I hate stories/plots that are based on miscommunication because they're so damn frustrating. I really thought that the big issue in this book would have been resolved early on and the majority of the book plot would follow a different path. I didn't look to see how many chapters there were so I was shocked when it was suddenly the end.

This big plot issue made the book hard to enjoy overall. Regardless, this is another light, fluffy read if you're just looking for something to pass your time (which I was).
