Action packed, imaginative, full of frantic, nailbiting twists and turns with a kick-ass heroine and swoon-worthy guys ~ Prophecy of the Setting Sunrise by Diantha Jones is a marvelous story based on Greek myth that will keep you in its grip with an all-consuming need to keep reading until the early hours.
Diantha Jones did it again! Not only did this book leave me speechless and totally amazed, it also earned one star more than the previous book, (Prophecy of the Most Beautiful) which makes a ful rating of 5 stars for Prophecy of the Setting Sunrise. It was superb!
Diantha Jones asked me to read and review this book for the awesome blog tour and of course I said yes right away. After really liking the first book I just had to know what was going to happen in this one. I was dying to find out more about my man, Strafford and I got so much more amazingness than I had dared to hope.
I have to admit, I was never really a fan of the heroine, Chloe... At least not in the first book. But it has all changed in this one. Chloe was more kick-ass, smarter and more willing to sacrifice herself for the people she loves, even though that was not always considered smart. I admire how she was willing to do everything in her power to save her little brother, Benjy, even with the unexpected events that surrounded him. So I definitly like her now and I feel like she's really starting to find herself and how she fits into the world of myths and the Oracle thing. My opinion about Strafford hasn't changed. I don't think it ever could. Although in this novel it was all so intense and heavy for him, he's still amazing. My Irish with his sexy lip piercing and dragon tattoo. ♥ Strafford and Chloe are so perfect together! They are both willing to risk their own lives for each other and definitely have a bond. I'm glad that Chloe knows what happened to Strafford that made him the disgraced prince. Like, all the secrets are in the open now. Finally. Their romance is sweet with a little bit of sexy involved, especially with the looks and kisses they share and give. And I love their nicknames for each other; Red & Irish.
Reading this book was like coming home to family with all the familiar characters. I love each and one of them. Ace is my favorite guy character after Strafford. He's hilarious and sexy but would do anything to help protect and heal others. Swindle I just love too. We've found out a lot more about him and yet there's still lots of mystery around his character. I need to know what's up with all that! The twins, oh, how I love them. Theseus and Hector are the characters that make the gang complete. I have to say when the disastrous thing happened to one of them at the end my world turned upside down and I had to wipe away a tear or two. So damn sad! A new character sort of join the gang. Anne Maria, one of the god Artemis' bounties. I loved her. She was also kick-ass and amazing like the others. She really belonged with them. And I loved to see her and Theseus together. So sweet! I actually had a favorite scene in this book. It was the scene where Strafford was teaching Chloe how to fight and so they were fighting each other. That was so much fun! Another awesome scene was the cavern water slide, you'll know what I'm talking about when you read it.
The plot of this book was written really well! So fast-paced that I had finished in about three days. That's pretty damn fast if you ask me. The flow was just really good. Just like the first book, figuring out the prophecy took until the very end. I love trying to figure out what it all means but I never can of course. But that's what I love about these books. Another thing of my favorite things is the Greek myth aspects. Me being a history geek just can't get enough of stuff like this. Love! Love! Love! We've met some new gods we hadn't met before like Artemis, Hypnos and even Hades! All very cool and exciting! Of course there were the familiar gods like Apollo joining us and Dionysius. Also a new character that I'm really interested in reading more about is Zeus's son Torrent. I loved how Chloe was insta-crushing over him but when she found out who he was the insta-crush was definitely over. That'll be my new favorite word; Insta-crush.
So, yes, I LOVED this book. I devoured every single chapter and page with ease. The action is outstanding and fierce. This book is not only about myths and prophecies but also about love, friendship and loyalty. Readers will hopefully not only enjoy this book, but also completely be stunned by it as I was.
This book can be summed up in one word.... awesome.
It surrounds Greek mythology which I am becoming to enjoy. Before reading any of the Oracle of Delphi Books, I couldn't fathom the idea of picking up a book on mythology. It didn't spark my interest. As I read the first book in the series, I fell in love with it. The plot seems a bit slower in this book than the first which makes it a little bit longer, but more enjoyable. The characters are believable and likeable which is a great thing. If I can't relate to at least one character, it's hard for me to get into that particular book but with this one that isn't the case.
Strafford keeps his same attitude which I find me giggling at times with. He's a mixture between a romantic and an ass. It's nice to see more of his background is revealed within this book. I loved learning more about him. As for Chloe, she's still the bad ass I thought she was in the first book, even though she seems confused for most of the book. But being an Oracle can't be that easy.
The journey they encounter throughout this book kept me engaged and wanting more. I had to find out what happened. I found places that were action and some that were a bit slower but it was perfect for me.
The only thing that bothers me about this book is the way it ends. It seems like it was cut too early but I'm sure this was the intended point. Keep the readers wanting more. I think the author did a great job on this book. I highly recommend this series. This is why I'm giving this book five ***** stars. I overly enjoyed it.
You would think that being The Oracle of Delphi would be awesome, right? So wrong!
Humans still think that Chloe is out of her mind. While in the reality she is faced with having to save the gods from destruction. This poor girl never catches a break! But at least her boyfriend is a hottie! This book picked up where the first book left off and the pace didn’t lag for a moment. There is adventure, romance, mystery, mythology and my favorite, scheming gods and goddesses! What more could you ask for?
Chloe has never been my favorite character in the book but as her powers grow and her character develops I find myself liking her more and more. But if I was picking a favorite it would definitely be Strafford the a fore mentioned hottie. He is the perfect combination of Bad Boy/Alpha Male and it was great to finally learn some of his secrets!
Diantha Jones is (in my opinion) a detail oriented writer. Sometimes this can lead to over long descriptions but Miss Jones uses it to her advantage in creating a fantastic, multi-dimensional cast of secondary characters that takes this book to another level.
Often the second books in a series are not as good as the first but this one was just as good, if not better. My only complaint – GRRR DAMN YOU CLIFFHANGER ENDING!!!
I found this book to be highly entertaining and interesting. There was plenty going on in the mythology world and I loved seeing all the new and old characters interacting. This was a very creative and intriguing story and I found myself wrapped up in Chloe’s adventures once again. I loved the fact that the pages seemed to fly by and I didn’t even notice at times how quickly I was reading the story. This was definitely a fun and quick read and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
Plot:
Finally! Yes we are finally privileged to learn what Strafford’s big secret is and wow it’s both intriguing and moving at the same time. I won’t say exactly what it is (that would spoil it, duh!) but I will say that I very much understand why he’s kept it to himself. On other news the plot was filled with tons of sub-plots, there was always something going on, if it wasn’t the gang’s conflicts it’s Chloe’s brothers conflicts or the Gods conflicts. You’re not left with no action in this book, it’s full of twist and turns, betrayals and reunions. This is a highly fast paced book and left little room for slower moments. There’s a lot that we as the reader learn about this world and the characters in it. So much happens, so many decisions are made, it all adds up to an awesome second book. The ending was good, left the reader with a small cliffhanger but nothing to bite your nails over. I kind of thought the author did very well on the ending, leaving the perfect opening for book 3. So overall I enjoyed the plot and thought it was full of surprises and twists.
Romance:
The romance is about the same as in the first book, it’s sweet but not too lovey dovey. As for the conflict in the romance area there wasn’t really any, it seemed like the story was more focused on the actual plot than the romance. So overall this was good aspect to the story.
Characters:
Loved to meet the new and old characters again, I was once again reunited with some of my favorite characters and risked back into their world. And I loved the new characters as well, we were able to really get to know all of them and begin to understand why they act the way they do. I didn’t find it hard to once again connect with Chloe or Strafford and actually found their POV’s intriguing and fun to read about. I think we really learned more about these two characters more than anything else. So overall I enjoyed the characters in this book.
Transformation of the Character:
There was definitely more transforming that occurred in this book. We start to learn why the characters are they way they are and learn how their growing from their mistakes and trying to become a better them. There weren’t any specific transformations that stood out to me but the overall feeling was good.
Description:
There was plenty of description in this book, the author painted a very clear picture of each scene. It was more like watching the show than reading it, the attention to detail was very fine and precise and I found I enjoyed the fighting scenes the best. Writing a fight scene is very hard, trust me I’ve tried it, there’s just so much action that it’s hard to put down onto paper exactly all that is happening but this author seemed to be able to hone this skill and zero in on exactly the important parts in each high action scene. So overall I enjoyed the description in the story and didn’t think there was too much or too little.
Style:
This was written in multiple POV’s and in first person. This allowed the reader to get a good perspective on all that is happening and help move this story along. I think this was necessary in the fact that how this story is laid out, multiple POV’s are almost required. And the writing itself was good, I only found a few grammer errors but other than that enjoyed the story itself and al that it had to offer. So overall this was a good aspect to the story.
Quote of the Book:
“The world swirled around her like Apollo had struck a chord on his lyre, transporting her straight to hell…she couldn’t breathe right. This could not be real. She was dreaming, because what Strafford had shown her just couldn’t be her reality.”
Goodreads Summary:
It’s official. Myth is doomed.
And it’s all Chloe Clever’s fault.
Still as whacked out as ever, Chloe is now faced with an even uglier truth: Not only is she the Pythia of the Great Unknown, but she is more powerful than she ever imagined and only the manifestations of her prophetic mind can save them all now.

Last Thoughts:
I would recommend this book to fans of the first book in this series and to anyone who is into Greek mythology. This was a very exciting and fast paced book and can’t wait to learn more about this world and it’s characters in the book to come. So overall I found this read enjoyable and fast.

Series: The Oracle Of Delphi #2 Genre: Young Adult, Greek Mythology, Romance Release Date: November 12th 2012 Source: Review Copy From Author Cover Rating: 4/5 Stars Overall Rating: 4/5 Stars Synopsis: It’s official. I had high hopes for this book because I had really enjoyed the first and it lived right up to them. I think it may have been better than the first. What made me love this series in the first place was the rich world building detail and the charismatic characters and this book had all that and more. The book starts where the first left off, I was a little confused at first but after flicking through the last chapter of the first book I remembered what was happening. Chloe has accepted that she is the Oracle Of Delphi, Pythia, and she must use the prophecies that come with it to figure out how to save myth and her little brother before it is all destroyed. Luckily for Chloe she has her (awesome) group to help her out. Their strength and loyalty plus her prophecies may just be enough to succeed on her mission.
As I said before, the characters are one of the main things I love about these books. Chloe was my least favorite in the last book and she still is but I liked her a bit more than before. When she fully embraced being the Oracle and headed out to find her brother I began to respect her character more and who knows I might like her even more in the next book. I of course still love Stafford but I have to say my heart still belongs to Ace, he's such a sweetheart that I can't help loving him. When I finally get around to writing my top ten favorite characters list again he will most definitely be on it. I liked the twins Hector and Theseus and I am intrigued by Swindle's story and can't wait to learn more about him. Something I loved was meeting more of the gods and goddesses, I love Greek mythology so thoroughly appreciated that.
Overall this book is one that has me eager for the next. The lavish detail is what pulled me into the book but it is the characters that kept me captivated until the very end. If a book has horrible characters or little to no detail there is a huge chance I will hate it but this ticks both boxes on my vital list. Prophecy Of The Setting sunrise kept me up till 2am but I do not regret the lack of sleep and that's saying something. I would recommend this to those who enjoy greek mythology or are maybe just looking for a good story.
My Favorite Quotes: “I found something, jukkas,” he said, opening up a book onto the table. “I really wish you’d stop callin’ us bloody idiots,” Ace said, stuffing lo mein into his mouth. “Is that what jukkas means?” she asked and Ace nodded. “Rude, Swindle.” The demigod laughed. “I always mean it in the nicest possible way. Now hush up and listen. Jukkas.”
"And speaking of, why didn’t you jump in sooner, Ace? You knew it was Smurfey!” The demigod grinned, handing her a bag of herbs for the bruises that were sure enough forming all over her face. She snatched it from him. “Why would I break up a perfectly good cat fight when the odds were so evenly matched?” --- The herbs obviously hadn’t kicked in all the way yet. “Smurfey happened to my face.” “Smurfey?” She pointed and when he saw her friend climb out of the truck looking just as roughed up, he smiled. “Ah. Cat fight.” “You and Ace are sexist pigs.” “Don’t you mean sexy pigs…”

4.5 Stars
Review This is one of the few books that I've really enjoyed in such a long time. I mean, there are some that I've been extremely excited about, but kind of fell flat, but this is one of the few books that I've been dying to read and has met my expectations. Bravo Diantha! Prophecy of the Setting Sunrise has wowed me beyond belief. There's just so much packed into the pages that allows one to devour this book with such a satisfying feeling.
We begin with Chloe and the gang instantly stuck in between a rock and a hard place. Basically, the human police are kind of holding them up when I'm dying to get to the juicy stuff. Definite problem there! Darn you police!! Despite the odd beginning, which is begins rather awkwardly, the book soon rushes and flies at an ever-increasing rate, keeping the readers on the edges of their seats. So many mysteries are solved and revealed in this book; there's simply so much packed into this book, as if it's bursting at the seams with everything a reader can appreciate.
As the truths are unveiled one after another, we begin to see that this series, Oracle of the Delphi series, takes place in such a large, complex world ready to double-cross the readers and disappoint. New characters are introduced, some good, some screwed up and some with other motives in mind. I wish that these characters had more screen time than they were given, but I can't deny that I love the main characters too much to allow them to be overshadowed by some powerful enemies. My only complaint would be that I wish that there were more chapters with alternating point of views from different characters, instead of seeing events pass by from Chloe's viewpoint for 90% of the book.
Prophecy of the Setting Sunrise is one of those reads that can be read without a dull moment. The action, fast-pace, wittiness and OMG! moments are what make this book stand out among other YA novels. While others usually fall flat when it comes to pacing and plot, Diantha knows how to keep a book on the right path, and not go off on tangents. Although at times I found the romance between Chloe and Stafford a little awkward at certain pivotal moments in the plot , seeing their relationship reach new heights and being tested throughout the plot, made this book stand out above all others, in my opinion. Usually, the main couple in the second book are faced with the largest dilemma that prevent them from hooking up, but it is obvious that this is just the beginning to the long, treacherous road that our heroes will have to face.
I can't stop singing praises on how much this book amazed me. My expectations were exceeded in this book in terms of pacing, writing and execution. There were some points that I wished that certain events or people would have had a larger role in the Prophecy of the Setting Sunrise, but I can understand why their parts were minimal. The second book of the Oracle of Delphi series is the start of a ridiculously dark road that our heroes are just starting to face. Not to mention, the ending was perfect, causing me to need to hyperventilate, waiting for the next installment of these amazing Greek mythology retellings.
First, I will make a disclaimer. I had agreed to review this when it was released, after I had enjoyed and reviewed the first book. Then the author asked me to edit the story. She said I didn’t have to review it, but I have chosen to anyway, but the payment I received for editing in no way reflects on this review.
That being said, if anything, the editing proved how much I liked this story. Because I basically read it twice in less than four weeks to edit it, and I didn’t mind. It was a very enjoyable story, which I’m not surprised since I really liked the first one. (Although the use of Hercules in all the Greek myth stuff rather than Heracles still bugs me. But I’ve already told her this and she’s ignoring me. Like she’s the author or something. Pfft.)
I found this story was, despite being longer, better paced than the first. It has the rolling feeling of a classic adventure, moving from objective to objective with a singular purpose, through all sorts of places and interacting with all sorts of mythical beings and people. There are scheming gods and goddesses aplenty and one still has to love playing in all the old mythology. We get to see a wide variety of beasts and folks, but it’s all fun. Doesn’t seem over-done. Least not to me.
Strafford continues to be awesome, between alpha male and alpha asshole but always falling on the right side. And we finally get to learn more about him, but with mysteries remaining. The Quad is awesome, making the secondary characters just as much fun as the primary ones. I am all hearts about Theseus and Hector, and I love the Chaotics so much, I have declared they are mine.
Chloe continues to grow into her powers, but without ever losing her hard-headed, playing-stupid-never-works, leap-before-looking personality that can drive you nuts but never drives you away from her as a character. Because she’s genuine and loyal, and despite being young (technically an adult, but still in the teens), I like her. You can’t help but like her. Because she’s fiercely protective of the people she loves and always tries hard and means well.
There’s romance all over the place, but I think it’s well done. Campy in the right ways.
I can’t really think of anything I didn’t like about this one, aside from the cliff-hanger-ish ending that I still hate Diantha for. The one complaint I had — aside from Heracles — was mentioned during editing and fixed. *lol* So I guess I can’t complain. 5 for this one. Go read these books! Cause there’s a Strafford novella due early next year I’m already drooling for — I want a Strafford of my own — and then book three next summer!
[Full disclosure: Diantha Jones sent me a free ebook in exchange for an honest review.]
After reading and absolutely loving Prophecy of the Most Beautiful, I didn’t think it was possible for Diantha Jones’ writing to get any better.
I was wrong.
In Prophecy of the Setting Sunrise, not only are we seeing the characters themselves develop, but their relationships as well. There’s also more fighting, drama and conspiracy than ever before. In short, Diantha Jones absolutely did not succumb to Book 2 Syndrome. She improved not only her writing quality, but her characterization and even the way she chose to reveal her plot twists.
Both Chloe and Strafford are acquiring even more depth than before. Chloe is accepting her role as Pythia and really starting to show her backbone of steel as well as her intelligence. She’s no damsel in distress waiting around for Strafford to save her all of the time either! As for Strafford himself, he isn’t just the moody, tortured Sun Prince. We get to see a more tender side of him as he finally realizes just how much he loves Chloe and we finally learn why he’s in disgrace among other demigods.
As for the plot and pacing, I was absolutely glued to my computer screen. Not only was it fast-paced, there were so many unexpected plot twists that my head was spinning. Diantha Jones didn’t spend much time on re-hashing the plot points of the first book, but she added in tidbits of information that allowed me to follow everything despite reading the first and the second book so far apart. In Prophecy of the Setting Sunrise, you might as well just go with the flow because you’ll never uncover the conspiracy behind the conspiracy that involves Chloe’s little brother Benjy being kidnapped. Yes, it’s that unpredictable, but it makes total sense.
I may be a bit biased, but I absolutely love the Greek myths. I always have and probably always will. And let me just say that Diantha Jones most definitely knows her Greek myths, both famous and obscure! She takes many elements from these famous and obscure myths and blends them together to create a scenario in which such myths come alive in the modern era. Of course she adds her own twist onto a few things so you’re always on your toes. What else would you expect from such a talented writer?
Prophecy of the Setting Sunrise is a exciting blend of romance, adventure and enchanting mythology!
Chloe Clever is back, with more prophecy, myth and sarcastic demigods. I love Chloe. I think she's a very relatable and down-to-earth character.
Team Strafford! Oh, he is just too much, I love him (insert fangirl squeal here). In this installment more of Strafford's past is revealed to the reader. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to find out what mysterious deed happened to disgrace the sun prince.
*Mini spoiler-sort of* I'm really curious to see what part Torrent has to play in all of this. I can tell he is going to be one of those characters that I half love and half hate.
This book was full of surprises as well, especially in the later chapters, some good, some not-so-good. This series is very rich in the actually Greek mythology, something some other popular series have lacked. I don't want to spoil anything but it was very enjoyable to read in depth about some myths and places I've only heard about.
And the ending argghhh, I was so surprised! I just wanted to jump in and save everyone. There is also a certain God who is infuriating.
Diantha Jones has once again taken us on a thrilling adventure through the land of the gods and kept us rooting for a red-headed mortal to save the world.
Totally starting the third book...like now!
~ This review was originally posted on runawaypen.com as a part of the Oracle of Delphi Blog Tour.
Okay, so other than saying that this book started where the last one ended, I feel like I would give away too many spoilers, and that would not be very good.
So, I liked this one, too. But, not as much as I liked Prophecy of the Most Beautiful. I still thought it was great, though (how many times can I reiterate that?).
I sort of thought that the whole 'love of my life might get taken from me if I don't-or-do this thing or tell-or-don't-tell this. I feel that more could've been done for this, making it still have the draw that it did (potentially more), but changing the cliche up a little bit.
So... Chloe is still considered a nut job, you guys. That is wrong on so many levels. I mean, she's the Oracle of Delphi! She's supposed to be a little crazy-like with the occasional vision. But, those dratted humans always think that something is wrong with someone who's different *sigh*.
So. Cliffhanger. Makes me want more of this series! I-- can't even tell you how I feel about the end of this one. That's how crazy-messed up I am with wanting the next book. Maybe when I do read the next one, I can give you a more accurate telling of this.
I have to start off by saying that this book did not disappoint! I want to shout from the rooftops about how much I enjoyed it! Fangirling over for a moment, Prophecy of the Setting Sunrise really was an amazing read, continuing the story from Prophecy of the most Beautiful. We're with Chloe as she searches for her kidnapped brother, Benjy. Along with her Prince boyfriend Strafford and the band of guardians known as The Quad, they face some of their toughest challenges yet, including The Labyrinth. There's mystery, action, plenty of "snoggin'" as Ace Remedy loves to point out, an amazing look at the Greek myths and we're introduced to a ton of new characters. I'm back to fangirling but I just can't help myself. I was so happy to have Ace back and I just can't get enough of my Irishman. So, if you love Greek mythology, hot guys and a good mystery, then you should definitely check out Prophecy of the Setting Sunrise.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Why didn’t I read this book when I was supposed to read it. Maybe I would have gotten out of my reading slump a little earlier. I feel like I’m repeating myself when I say that I loved it. Prophecy of the Most Beautiful, the first book in the series, got four stars, but the Prophecy of the Setting Sunrise deserves way more.
There’s so much adventure written on the pages, there’s no way I could rest my eyes and stop reading it. It was so addictive. The group of characters were back again and just like the first time reading about them I wanted more! Strafford, oh wow, he’s seriously awesome. And Ace..damn.. Diantha could he get a book of his own?
And then the ending came and there it was, a cliff-hanger. Oh no! I need to read the third book and I need it right now. Such evil things.
Prophecy of the Setting Sunrise is a really great follow-up. I recommend everyone reading this book, especially if you’re a fan of myths.
(Source: I received a digital copy of this book for free on a read-to-review basis. Thanks to author Diantha Jones.) This is book 2 in the ‘Oracle of Delphi’ series, and kicks off where book 1 left off. **Warning – some unavoidable spoilers for book 1** Chloe is now back home for a visit, only to find that her younger brother has been kidnapped. The police question Chloe and Strafford, assuming that they might have something to do with Benjy’s disappearance, but really have little to go on. Chloe is willing to do anything to save her brother though, even if it means giving him to a god, and entering a labyrinth that could kill her. Can Chloe and Strafford rescue Benjy? Who has taken him and why? And what does Chloe’s latest prophecy mean?
This was an interesting second instalment, but I just couldn’t keep up with the storyline, and I really struggled to get through this.
Chloe was once again not afraid of a bit of hard work, and gladly took on the challenge of finding her brother, even when the task seemed daunting, and she had to practically sign his life away just for a bit of aid. She faced a lot of different trials, and some really threatening adversaries, and still she maintained her faith that she would find and rescue her brother. Strafford and Ace appeared in this book too, although Strafford and Chloe did get separated for a good portion of the book. We did find out some interesting things about Strafford in this one, that we didn’t find out in book 1, which added to his character.
The storyline mainly revolved around Chloe’s younger brother Benjy who had been kidnapped, and Chloe’s trials in trying to get him back. There was quite a lot going on in this story, and there were some familiar but surprise arrivals to Chloe’s story. I did however find it a bit difficult to keep up with what was going on. I have problems with fantasy books sometimes where I just can’t keep up with what is going on, and I think I had this problem with this book. I don’t know why but I just had real trouble focusing and keeping up with this one, and I found it really difficult to connect with what was going on. I think this is probably a case of wrong person, wrong book with this one for me. I honestly can’t say that there was anything majorly wrong with the story or the characters, but I personally just really struggled to make it through this one. In terms of the storyline though things did work out okay in the end though, but once again we ended with a bit of a cliff-hanger. The ending did give us a clear direction of where the next book is going though. Overall; an interesting second instalment, but I found it difficult to keep track. 5 out of 10.
Young Chloe Clever, aka Pythia, aka the Oracle of Delphi, is starting to get a little more confident in her new job as the keeper of the Great Unknown Prophecy. Which is good, because her job gets even tougher in this book: Apollo may be a ruthless SOB, but she's about to attract the attention of beings far more frightening. I won't give it away, but let's just say it's a good thing Chloe finds she can suddenly read a very old and otherwise forgotten language, however much it might dismay her demigod guardians.
If only Chloe could focus on forces of nature striving to take over- and occasionally rescue- the world. Unfortunately, the gods decided to bring the conflict home to her- literally. And while Chloe may think that was all about her, she quickly understands that the victim plays a special role- and more special than anyone could have imagined before. Oh right, someone did figure it out in the last book, so why is Chloe only finding out now? Let's just say it has a little something to do with the bonds between siblings- and the lack thereof between parents and children.
When is her beloved Strafford aka Solar aka The Sun Prince going to explain his dishonor to Chloe? And speaking of parents, why is Chloe's mother taking everything so calmly? And where is Chloe's father, why did he leave and what does he know?
As one of the characters says, it's all about choices. Can even the Oracle of Delphi make the right ones when all this is going on? Maybe, but not without a terrible sacrifice.
Once again, Jones made the myth-geek in me smile. Not to give anything else away, but let's just say that if Apollo is plotting a coup, he picked the perfect god to team up with. Apollo's light needs to be tempered with a little darkness, but darkness comes in different shades.
Looking forward to the next installment, and highly recommended once again for fans of mythology and young adult.
Dear Ms. Diantha Jones, why are you doing this to me? Why have you caused me so many sleepless nights because of your AWESOME BOOK? I really want to blame you for the luggage under my eyes right now but who am I kidding I HONESTLY LOVE YOU, dear author. For writing an awesome series such as the Oracle of Delphi. I swear, if the first book is not enough indication of how great you are, then this book will definitely show how so.
Like the first book, The Prophecy of the Setting Sunrise has the perfect combination of action, adventure, romance and Greek mythology that will leave you turning page after pag. It's as if the Fates have decided to respin your fate and you MUST MUST MUST read and finish the book whatever it takes.
The world that Ms. Jones has created is so breath-taking. I can imagine strolling along Myth or entering the Delphic Chateau or even attending Apollo's concerts. Better yet, I can imagine myself tagging along with Chloe, Strafford, Ace and the rest of the Quad as they go about solving and fulfilling prophecies.
This book is also filled with surprises that had me shouting the inequities and harshness of the gods but still, my need to read the third book is greater than ever before.
This series is one of the few that has fully enraptured me and I truly want to read it all til the end. (Wait, the end? NOOOO. I don't want the series to end) And may I just say, I totally crush you Ace Remedy. I'd be your girl any day. lol.
Fangirling aside, this whole series is something you wouldn't want to miss.
Wow! Are you kidding me? I almost never like the second or third installments as much as I liked the first. The magic did not fizzle in The Prophecy of the Setting Sunrise. Diantha has broken the mold. I loved this book oh so much more!
I enjoyed watching the characters grow as well as Chloe's & Strafford's relationship develop and get pulled at the seams. The secondary characters support the main characters nicely and I appreciated their humor and personalities. Am I the only one dying for Ace Remedy to get his own book? He's a favorite! Go Ace!
You will yearn for the story to never end. This book will keep you enthralled and wanting more. I can't wait to read Solar, Defeated and the third installment, The Prophecy of Solstice's End.
Hear Hear!!! I knew something spectacular was going to happen!! It did!! Ms. Jones Rocks! This series is not for the faint of heart! Awesome world building and I'm very intrigued when it comes to all of these fabulous Demi Gods :)
Good next chapter to Chloe's story. I'm curious to see what happens. But I'm REALLY hoping there isn't a love triangle between Chloe and Strafford and Ace.
I love this series. I adore Strafford and Chloe. Diantha is an amazing author. The storyline line is exceptional, I don't know how she does it. Looking forward to reading book 3.
