I was disappointed after I finished this book, because I went right out to find book number four...and there wasn't one! You can't start an epic story like this, and just leave it hanging like that! COME ON! What about Caitlin and Derek? Or Arriane and Joshua?! So much anticipation!!!!!!
Crushed by childhood betrayal, Ariel trust no one and the last thing she needs is a savage warrior and a love she's never believed in but Ariel is about to find out what the "power of love" truly means in this spellbinding paranormal romance.
Shane has longed for Ariel's return but she's forgotten the deep love that sustained him a thousand years ago and the reader can't help but be drawn into the inner personal battle that wages between memories and the present as Ariel and Shane fight to survive. Their attraction to each other burns hot enough to consume them but the relationship is so far from being emotionally stable that it will take a miracle for Shane and Ariel to overcome the past. The characters are strong and demand the reader's attentions from the very beginning while the fast paced and smooth flowing plot enthralls readers with lots of suspense, excitement and romance.
The odds are stacked against the warriors already with Jonar still up to his usual evilness and destruction and Ariel's father can certainly compete with Jonar on being evil but there's also someone else working against the warriors and it will take them all to win this exciting battle as they search for the Mistress of the Water. Excitement and expectation build throughout the story as the danger escalates and once Ariel begins to learn to command the wind, things really get exciting. The well written scenes and details capture the imagination as the well timed events draws readers in and ensures that is never a dull moment.
This story gets more exciting the closer the characters get to achieving the means to defeat the evil Jonar and I was completely caught up in Ariel and Shane's story from the very beginning and Shane is such a sexy viking berserker that he makes my heart pound even while I want to strangle the dominate jerk... anyway, I can't wait to find out what happens next in this battle between good and evil.
I actually liked this series but problem I had it was left hanging and needed another book to complete the series. Don't know when this will come out or if LL has any plans to complete. Looking at the timespan from the release dates I would suspect not.
3.5 stars Shanar has waited 1000 years for his wife to return to him. But more than just memories plague her return. An abusive father, a deadly evil and the mysterious "winds" all factor in to her learning to trust someone who's attitudes and beliefs are not exactly modern.
I generally like books by Lora Leigh. I found this one to be a little to disconnected. This is the 3rd book in the series and I have not had an opportunity to read the others. I found that some of the references to what I assume are character and events from other books were not handled smoothly. A couple of times I was wondering what Lora was talking about. I felt as is this book was written in a rush and the author didn’t take the time to finesse the book.
That being said, I will continue to read Lora Leigh, as a matter of fact, I’m reading Lion’s Heat right now and I’m enjoying it.
This "Legacy" series was not up to Lara Leigh usual standards. It was a little disjointed and some things were unexplained, but it was still an enjoyable read. It got a bit crazy in this third and final book....aliens, flying saucers, demons, immortal warriors and elemental "witches" make for a wild mix! A little too wild. Even though this was the last of the series, there were loose ends left and room for at least two more books. These were written a while back so l wont hold my breath, she has moved on to much better things.
This is part of a series and reading it out of order is not helpful. Too many characters and stories, so it is difficult to follow. If I ever get the rest of them, I will reread them in order. That might help. Apparently some of these are altered and enhanced humans by a extraterrestrial race, living extraordinary long lives. Shane is one of these and his wife Ariel died in a past life but is back. Too confusing to even try to explain.
I've bought these a few years ago, when I started collecting your books. Unfortunately after the first bound book I read, I've been buying/collecting your books indiscriminately from allromance, much good it did me, as I hated most of them. Apart from Breeds, Bound Hearts series and a few stand alone, I don't like the rest much. But while waiting for Cassie's story to be written, I decided to try the legacy series since I bought them, and I actually loved the saga, but what about Caitlin and Derek? Or Arriane and Joshua? How could you start a saga and leave it? How about readers who trust in your dedication? While analyzing the books I found out there was too much sex and less story line. I doubt if any further is forthcoming. If I haven't decided to read these, I would have continued to praise you for the breed series with me none the wiser. I adore Linn Young books, I think because although the sex there is out of this world it doesn't cover 3/4 of the book; only a tenth of the story. After Cassie's story I quit.
