Rate this book
After three years of broken hearts, back stabbing, lying, cheating, and fighting, Megan Miller and crew have finally made it to their senior year. They are ready to rule the school and show Carver High what the true meaning of being a double threat is, that is if they can manage to keep the drama out of their life. With Ben gone and Amy creating some waves, Meg feels like she is in over her head. What should be the year of prom, parties and memories, is quickly becoming the year of pressure and figuring what path you want your life to go on, and what it means when you may not have your friends by your side. With Alex and her parents' encouragement, watch as Meg learns sometimes just because you stand on your own two feet doesn't mean you won't be a Double Threat Forever.

SPOILER ALERT For Against The Wall readers!!!!

I'm a mom, a wife, a teacher, a reader, and a writer. I'm also an lunatic when it comes to the NFL and playing Fantasy football, especially if I don't get my first pick quarterback: Tony Romo. When I'm not at home or work, you can probably catch me on the 15 freeway singing my heart out and dancing away in my car.

I can’t believe it is over!!!! :-) I’ve been a fan of this series since the second I found it on Barnes and Nobles and I honestly can’t believe it is over. No more Meggie and crew to smile and for Julie to torture me with. Well what a ride it has been! I laughed and cried and wanted to tear my hair out. It was a journey with a beginning and an end and I loved EVERY freaking minute of it!

As I have said in other reviews for this series I must disclose that I am a friend of the author. She teases me mercilessly about my love of all things Alex and Meg and even wrote me into the series. But this is my unbiased opinion as a reader and a reviewer and is in no ways swayed by our friendship. I was just lucky enough to get to read the rough draft way before it came out. HEHE. Okay, now I can get to the review.

Um, did I mention that I LOVED it?!?! Because really I honestly did. Writing the final book in a series has to be the hardest thing to do. There is so much pressure on getting everything just right, tying up loose ends and making your readers happy. Well Prestsater did that and more. Like I told her I think Double Threat Forever is by far my favorite of the series and I was insanely crazy about the other books. Prestsater managed to bring all that fun and uncertainty from So I’m a Double Threat into Double Threat Forever, but she did it in a way that showed how each and every character had matured and grown. The girls all had struggles like they did in the other books, but these struggles weren’t over stupid high school drama. It was over growing up and deciding where to go with your life and who you want to be. It was about realizing that boys will always be there and so will your friends, you just have to make yourself happy to make it all worth it.

Really I loved every last minute of this book and I think the did absolute justice to the series. It gave it the closure it needed and moved the characters forward in a way that made them stay true to who they were. I am going to miss Meg and Alex and crew like crazy but I’m also grateful they came into my life. I look forward to what else Ms. Prestsater has in store for us.

4 STARS out of 5
Genre: YA Contemporary Romance
SUPER EXCITED and EXTREMELY SAD for this book.....
It is always bittersweet when a series comes to an end. :(

Double Threat is an excellent series that gives you teens with real problems/issues such as
-Weight
-Boy's
-Dating
-Boy's
-Friends
-Drugs
-Boys
-Kissing
-Boy's
-Teen pregnancy
-School
-Secrets
-Boys
-Betrayal
-Parents
And did I mention BOY'S!

It was a shock to my system when I first read
So I'm a Double Threat, simply because it was so realistic. I even had a few flashbacks to my high school years. **sighs heavily** So Bittersweet....

I'm so sad that this series is coming to an end, but what a satisfying end it was! Being able to follow Megan, Alex and the rest of the crew through their high school years was an absolute blast and to even get a bit of a glimpse into the future was an added bonus.

In Double Threats Forever we got to see how this crew had matured since their first days in high school and how the things going on in their lives were effecting their decisions and their outlook on life.

Julie Prestsater did an amazing job once again of capturing the voices of this crew in a fun, no-holds barred way just like a bunch of high school and early college kids would be.

I look forward to what Julie has to share with us next!

Finally, it is Megan’s Senior Year! I am excited for her future as much as she is and after three years, I am confident that the non-relationship that she and Alex have will finally happen the way it is supposed to. What I wasn’t prepared for was Ben being gone.

I spent a good portion of this book choked up. I missed Ben right along with everyone else. I wanted him to be there for his little one. I was proud of Ben and the decision he made, but it was a struggle watching him chose the path he did. I welled with pride in Ben and he stole my heart for the love of his country! I know I am overly patriotic but I just adore him so much!

This book was my favorite out of all four books but it was because I saw the struggles that Megan went through each year of high school. And the Epilogue… GAH! I couldn’t stop crying at the new Double Threats. I just adored this one so much more than I was expecting. Choosing a college to go to without letting Alex or her friends factor into her decision… GAH! But this book ended on such an amazing note. I adored all four of these books and I am so glad I have read them! Julie Prestsater just does a fabulous job with this group of friends, and their crazy witty banter. I wanted their senior year to last so much longer!

Ok, so I downloaded the first book in this series because it looked like a quick, easy, junk-food for the brain kind of read. I’m far from a teenager, but I still enjoy some good YA drama. I didn’t care for the title and really didn’t think I would care for the book, but I wound up loving it. Or I think it might be more accurate to say that I became so involved with the many unique characters that I fell in love with them. Even though the first book stands on its own and it’s not necessary to read the others in the series, I really wanted to know what became of each of them. I don’t spend money on books very often (I’m too much of a tight wad and there are too many books I can read for free.), but I purchased every book in this series and loved them all. The writer really makes you feel like you are part of their group of friends. I cried with them; I laughed out loud with them (many, many times); I fell in love with each and every one of them.

I do need to say that I would not consider this a teen read. There is a lot of partying and alcohol use at a very young age. The sexual content and bad language is limited, but is still prevalent.

I can't believe this is the end of the Double Threat series. I have loved this series from page 1 of "So I'm a Double Threat." I feel like I was part of the gang with each page, and now that it's over, as happy as I am for everyone in the gang, I'm just as sad there will be no more adventures! For anyone who reads YA books, this is a MUST-READ series! You will absolutely love it! Julie, once again, you did very, very, VERY goodly!

This was the perfect ending to a great series. The characters personalities develop and the author does an exceptional job telling the whole story. Upon finishing, I felt like there were no questions left. Which, to me, is the best feeling while reading a series. The entire double threat series is a great portrait of friendship, romance, and teenage angst. I just hope the author continues on with the story with another generation.

So sad this series is over! I have loved it from start to finish.

I loved following the Double Threats crew has the navigated the waters of high school (and in some cases beyond). It was great to see the characters grow over the series. Loved the added bonus of seeing the Crew in the future.

Julie Prestsater did an amazing job and I can't wait to see what she has for us next!

Although this book series was a YA series, I actually loved all four books! I waited to write a review, as each book flowed nicely into the next one, and I really didn't have the words to say. I decided then I would write a review when I completed the series......however......

I'm still rendered speechless.

Really loved this book. Loved the ending, it was really sweet. Although there are adult themes in these books, they are experiences that high school students really have and share, but she wrote about them so honestly and so well.

Finally we are with the group of friends for their senior year of school. It has been a fun journey and a really good series about school life . Alex's best friend Ben has gone but he is happy being back with Meg. Meg is worried about her future and which college to choose. Loved that the author tied all the loose ends and gave us all the pairs back together. For everyone who has gone through the four years with this group of friends , you won't be disappointed with the ending plus we are treated to a look into the future to see what they up to 20 years later !!

“Double Threats Forever” by Julie Prestsater
5 out of 5 stars

It’s senior year for the Double Threat Crew and that means college applications, hard decisions, and the possibility of saying goodbye. After a year of trying to meet new people our girls have realized that there are no better friends, and in some cases boyfriends, than the ones they already had. The one exception to the rule is new student Andi. She’s a welcome addition to the group and brings with her a bit of comedic styling that you didn’t even realize they were missing. She has a naive goofiness that quickly endears her to the group and to the reader.

Meg and Alex, together unofficially, are the heart of this book. Having made the decision to not be an official couple until graduation, their senior year is one big waiting game. I loved how Alex doesn’t pressure her to follow him to his college, instead he encourages her to find her own dreams and pursue them. Their relationship could be a blueprint for how it should really be done. It’s refreshing to see a young couple not consumed by sex, waiting until they are both completely ready, that truly want the best for each other. After four years of watching them build their relationship I am rooting for their happily ever after.

I missed Ben in this book although I loved seeing glimpses of him through the groups’ video confessionals. There is a hilarious bit with “flat Ben” in the latter part of the book that I won’t ruin for those who haven’t read the book but it is genius. Prestsater doesn’t let me down with this last installment in the series. It’s still as entertaining and fresh as the first book and I couldn’t put it down. She truly writes for her readers and thanks us for sticking with her by writing an epilogue that is every reader’s dream. Set twenty years in the future we get a glimpse into the lives of all of the Double Threat Crew and the pay off is awesome!

The only thing that would make this series better would be for it to land on my television. This series is a perfect fit for primetime. I can only imagine how much more invested I would be in them if I were watching them weekly on my TV screen. Prestsater has written all four books perfectly to set them up as a television show. Calling all young adult networks…The CW Network, ABC Family, and any others looking for a great new show…don’t pass on this one! Let’s make it happen!

Read this series! Julie Prestsater has conquered high school with a 4.0! Don’t miss out on this awesome story!

Hmmm, pretty much a repeat of the other 3 books

Although I love the characters in this series, this book just had no substance. It was pretty much a repeat of everything that has happened throughout the series. Literally. They go to prom, they have Christmas, spring break, and hang out (not necessarily in that order). The only thing "New" that happened was that they had to decide what college to go to. I'm not even sure if there was a plot in this book. If there was I guess I missed it.
The only thing I liked about this book was the characters but they were not even enough to get me to enjoy this book. The teachers constantly getting thrown in the story was just pointless and the relationship between the students and teachers was just unprofessional. I get she is trying to pull others towards her spin-off series, but it just came off as weird and out of nowhere in this book.
Very disappointed in this book, was really hoping for something new in this last book, but it felt like a copy and paste of the first three. I am definitely in the minority here with my opinion and rating, so maybe others love the characters enough not to be irritated by these things. This worked for me the first three books, but I just couldn't let it slide again in this final installment.
The formatting is still horrible and this has been a major issue in each book, so don't expect to know when scenes are changing from sentence to sentence.
2 stars for great characters

5 Amazing Stars!

Lastly, we have Double Threats Forever, book 4, the final book in this series and I have to say that Julie Prestsater saved the best for last. Alex and Megan have found their way back to one another. Senior year has started and the end is in sight. It is time to start thinking about their future and whether they have what it takes to continue on this journey together. Ben has decided to join the military, crushing Megan. He has always been there for her. He is more like an older brother, he has watched over her since Alex went away to school. Now the tables are turned and Megan worries about him. The days of chatting and seeing him are gone, until he completes boot camp. But Megan could not be more proud of him for choosing to serve is country and she fully supports his decision.

With senior year comes all the crazy college choices and the time that all the girls and their friends really start to grow up. Helping one another to decide where they want to go with their life and if they will continue to be apart of that process. Alex is nearly done with college and there relationship is about to change. Megan is no longer a young girl, she is a young woman. Who Alex could not be prouder of. Their love for one another has continued to grow and develop over the past three years and they know that their "Someday" is in sight.

Everyone knows that high school doesn't last forever and Meg seems to be fretting about her final year, because she has no idea which college she wants to go to. I get what it's like because being honest we've all been there plus when I was in my final year at school I had no clue what I wanted to do. So yeah I honestly get how she is feeling, However Meg knows that she needs to focus plus she needs to figure what she wants with Alex and if there is any hope for them.

Meg is starting to crumble under the pressure, she isn't sure about what path to take after she finishes and this really worries her. She already knows that her friends have decided, however she feels like everyone else knows what they're doing and that she doesn't. She knows that she has the support of her parents and friends, but she knows that she needs to do this on her own. I honestly admire her for what she's doing because it's not an easy thing.

Will everything work out for all the girls in the end and how will things go with Alex. Honestly I loved this book, I can't even tell you what my favourite book is in the series as they are all that good. I hope that you feel the same about it, Julie Prestsater knows how to write a good storyline and I have enjoyed reading this and have loved the characters. Being honest my favourite characters are Alex and Meg, they make the story come together.

Dude, I had a privilege of receiving this full series in exchange for an honest review!

I cannot believe this is the last book of the Double Threat HS Series and this is by far my most favorite besides the first book. I think this one had a lot of funny quotes also. I love Travis and Josh. I think I am going to miss them the most from the Carver Crew!

I will probably try reading the Teachers of Carver High later when I have more time because I have two already that I received as freebies.

This book is Meggsie and her Crew's Senior year and you will soon find out if the crew stays together or go their separate ways. Who goes to college, gets married to whom, and maybe you will get a taste of the crews future as well! I hope you enjoy as much as I did.

I would rate this series overall a 4!

This may sound odd but even though I loved this book, it made me very sad to finish it. No more new books in the series. I cannot even put my finger on why I loved this series so much. There is nothing really ground-breaking here. In truth this was not my crowd in high school. Looking at these books objectively there is nothing here I should have liked. Yet, I loved each book, and the last was the best. Ms Prestsater is a natural born storyteller. She writes complex and believable characters. She gives her good guys flaws, and her bad guys humanity. I also have enjoyed her New Adult series that cross-pollinates with this series.

In fact she has become one of those authors when she publishes a new book, I'll buy it knowing nothing more than she wrote it.

Loved the series. The ups, downs, heartache, and laugh out loud moments. I love how we get an epilogue down the road in which we get to hear about all of the characters and brief glimpse of how their lives turned out. Honestly I would actually like to ready about the time from graduation to the time we read about them in then epilogue. I think that's mainly because I fell in love with the characters. My only questions is at the end of every book it indicated alex's books in 2014..I'm curious as to if that is about this Alex or another alex..if it is this Alex is actually going to be released and if so when. I'm sure he was having issues in college as well while being away from Meg. Still loved the series and looking forward to reading more books from Julie Prestsater

5+++++ stars. If I could give this more I would. I absolutely LOVED Double Threats Forever. I cried, laughed and clapped like crazy.

I needed the crew to find themselves. To each recognize their strengths and weaknesses. I loved taking this wild journey with all of them.

Meg & Alex have endured a lot but through it all they know that their someday is coming. With the support of their friends and their family, it has never been a question as to if only when.

I loved LOVED the epilogue so that I had an ending. So all of my questions were answered.

I would have thought with all those parties that someone would have gotten hurt. The parents were buddies, not parents. They finally stopped partying so hard to work on school, but I found it hard to believe they would have those grades all four years with the cheating and drinking. The storyline had become flat and repetitive. I wish "realistic, contemporary" fiction would be that. This seemed more fantasy than real life.
