Fandom: Star Trek (2009) Relationships: James T. Kirk/Spock, Spock/Nyota Uhura -------------------------------------------------- "Spock. Just say 'I don't trust Starfleet not to mess up the only captain in the fleet who I can train up to my expectations and enjoys running into danger wearing a blindfold as much as I do'."

This is still just as good every time I read it and a perfect prelude to Seperis' sequel War Games. I'm not going to go into much detail about this story and the overall plot, mostly because this is one I believe is best just to jump into and partly because Seperis does a marvelous job of explaining things and answering questions throughout the story as you read along, but here is a quote that tells a little more than the summary (tiny bit spoilery, but mostly only for this story rather than the overall Reboot series, considering how the name of the sequel sorta gives stuff away already):
I pretty much adored this. I've never been a Kirk/Spock shipper, but that has now changed. Circuitous Spock is sly and Kirk is unexpectedly brilliant, and it's just really well done, okay? And all encircling the concept of the pon farr, which has always fascinated me. So good.
Very different from anything else I've read, but also very good. I *do* think you need to be familiar with the Star Trek universe to enjoy it, though. I wouldn't have said I had more than a passing familiarity before I read this, but I was WRONG. I don't know who I was trying to fool, but apparently I'm GD Trekkie!!! Still not sure how that happened, but I'd say it was worth it for this little gem alone. Multiverse FTW
Gosh this was so good. I slept two hours last night but it was totally worth it. This one has everything.
I have a special place in my heart for a good Spirk sparring session, and this one has a really really good one. Almost as good as The Sparring session at the beginning of Spice.
„You want this zone standoff over as badly as I do, and we both know it.“ Then he attacks.
