The was a short, dark, beautifully written little story. There were times where I was getting confused with the tense usage and what was actually going on here. I found I just really wanted more details and wish there were more to this story, as this little taste really wasn't enough for me.

When I started to read Forbidden I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the short story. It's dark, sexy, hard core, and very well written. I was left wanting more and needing to know what was going on behind the scenes. I really enjoyed the short read, and it didn't let me down. Have to say it's not for children its a 18+ read with sex scenes and other stuff. But it was truly HOT AND SEX! Can't wait to read more from the author!

I did not know what to expect when I began reading this short story but what I got was not what I was expecting at all! But forbidden was hard core, well written, and had me wanting to read more from this author! Let's just sy you should give it a read

I was told to read this from a friend of mine... I will call her K. She told me since I use her pen name as the name on my facebook (I don't like using mine at all, but my name is Suzanna) That I should after reading this go to goodreads and review. She told me that this was something I would like, and she was right. I really love dark, and sexy and this was both. At first I was a bit confused but K. told me to just slowly read it and it would make sense and just taking my time to read this short story made all the difference. She was right, it has the darkness that I crave, and the sex that I crave more LOL, single mom here after all. I would recommend this story to anybody, if you liked that horrible book 50 shades of grey you will love this!!! This is well written and when K. told me that the writers first language was not English I could not believe it! I totally know K.'s taste and when she gives something 5 stars her friends know to check it out, she is the most critical person on the face of this Earth! She gives her own work 1 star, (of course I go in and change it to the 4-5 stars she deserves) Now take not only my recommendation, but K.'s and everybody else who rated this 5 stars! They know what they are talking about! I love this short story! Excuse me while I go to Barnes and Noble and buy the rest of this fabulous Author's work. Tootles ~Suzanna

Forbidden is a powerful opening to what I hope will be just the beginning of a compelling series. The short story opens with the introduction to a fascinating, albeit dark world, where women are breeders, men warriors or simply cannon fodder to the terrifying demons lurking on the outskirts.
We are introduced to the main character Jax. A warrior who begins to struggle with his role, his position in the world that he is living. He begins to question the sanity of the life that he is leading. J.V.K effectively opens up this captivating character to us, allowing us to feel compassion towards his cause.
It is when Jax is at his weakest, when he begins to doubt the world around him, that he meets an intriguing and somewhat cruel man. A man that turns his world upside down, and sparks desires in him that he wasn’t prepared for.
Forbidden flows smoothly and has lovely moments of real tension. Moments that are almost palpable. J.V.K has effectively developed a world that came to life, and characters that were terrifyingly real. Bex ‘n’ Books rated 4.5 sassy fairies.

Well this was a fast read I must admit. It took me an hour to read it. This short story is really intense.
I like the fact that the scenes between the characters are very well described, though I didn't like that there were so many short sentences. Maybe it would have been better if some of them were longer or combine some of them into one sentence.
This is really my opinion, buy you are the author and you decide how to write the story. No matter that this story was short I enjoyed it very much. I was thinking how the characters came to be in such intense situations...maybe there is or was more to their relationship. I imagined that this can be part of a major story. At least this thought got caught up in my head.
I give this book 5 out of 5

JVK's short is a very powerful erotic read. It successfully captures the protagonist's inner turmoil and his angst. What was particularly interesting was the craft of the short; it was smoothly developed and effectively captured the depth of emotion and the erotic build up in the M/M encounter. Forbidden offers a snapshot of an SM meeting. It is emotive, gripping and very passionate.

A Friend of mine recently recommended I try something outside my comfort zone. I never would have thought to read this even though the description I found arousing my interest. I am super glad I listened to K. she was right, this is very well written and very enjoyable to read. 5 Stars Can't wait to read more from this author!!!!

Very engaging and it just wasn't enough for me because I wanted to read more. Going to wait for the book! Really like JVK's writing. I think she's definitely one of the better contemporary writers.

Very interesting world the author created here. But this story is too short and the m/m part felt unconvincing to me. Not to mention the BDSM aspect of it. Hope the sequels will be published soon.

First off, please be aware that Forbidden is an 18+ book. It does have some man on man romance & religious references in it. I just wanted to put that out there, so you know what you are getting into. If you have never read anything like that before, and you have an open mind this is a great read for you.
Forbidden is what I would consider post apocalyptic world,After the king turns his back on humans the world is ravaged by demons & the humans are left to defend them selfs. Not only do humans have to worry about demons, but there are all kinds of crazy laws & rituals for worshipping that king. Jax the main character is a member of a group called the elite force, their purpose is to fight the demons & protect the temples. Jax is unsure of his place in this world, so he takes off and is faced with a whole new set of problems.
J.V.K did a great job on Forbidden the story flows smoothly & I could really feel Jax emotions just pouring from the page's. Jax also made me laugh a few times, he is a very sarcastic characters, I loved that about him. If your looking for something diffrent from the norm you usually read or you read man on man all the time this is the book for you.

This story by JVK was a very short one but it will suck you in. The emotional turmoil the main character goes through because of his infatuation/love of his keeper is heartfelt and emotional. It IS a M/M book so if your against that then please don't read the story. But if your open to all genres and all types of loves then this is the perfect erotic story. I can say I would like to know more about the characters and how they became involved in this type of lifestyle. It is also for 18 and over because of the sex and violence in the short story.

This is a really short story, but don't be fooled into thinking that just because its short that it is lacking.
I knew when I started reading this was M/M (male/male), in fact i have put off reading this in the past because of this. I dont mind reading erotica but m/m has never appealed to me, but i decided to give this a try, it is after all a short story so wouldnt take long. If you didnt know the narrator was male it would take you a while to realise this. Although the book is sexually explicit it is written rather tastefully but is strictly 18+ only.

This is not something I would normaly read, & I wasn't sure what to expect. I think most of the time I was reading it my eyes were as big as silver dollars lol. If the author was going for a shock factor I think she accomplished her goal. I am no little kid, but this had me blushing. If you like hard core this book is for you.

As most of you know, this isn't my usual genre, far from it actually. I'm only going on the preview as I can't get hold of a copy from Amazon (I may just be being my usual stupid self here). What I've read is pretty powerful stuff, well written and toeing the line between cheesy (in a good way) and genuine. Well done JVK, keep going mate!

Odd little short, almost more of a poem. Rough, desperate insights from a submissive masochist. The psychology of this can be baffling, repugnant to some. In such cases I would urge don't bother reading.
But for those who find it fascinating, highly recommend! This one is as unique as it is beautiful.

This book is not for everyone, it was outside my comfort zone for sure. Having said that, it was incredibly well written and exposes readers to a lifestyle that a lot of us are unaccustomed to. Not just the man on man, but the s&m. It was definately worth a read.

In Forbidden you can feel the emotion going through the main character. This was a very short but emotional powerful erotica. This was my first ever read of a m/m book. And it was not as gritty as I thought it would be.

So I was pointed out this book by the author in the M/M Romance Group and unlike other reviewers on here this is what I read. I like the m/m genre and into BDSM too.
Not quite sure what to say to be honest, this really is a short read, a couple of minutes is all it takes and I think it is something like eight pages.
It isn't what I generally like though, I like a story, a plot, falling in love or hate with other characters, getting involved in the world and what is happening, and this wasn't that.
This was intense, it left a lot to the imagination, it leaves you with questions, a desire to know more. In fact one of the things that makes it so intriguing is all the things not in it.
What setting, what dynamic, how long, who are they, what do they look like, why, how, what, when all the usual questions that are evoked and then answered to make a story are left hanging and that is somehow thrilling.
It is dark but not really very gritty, and just fascinating.
The use of the word stop as a safe word, the level of the play, the frequency of the play, the punishment, the slight suggestion that maybe at the beginning it wasn't quite consensual or at least there was doubts about it all. The setting with the servants but also that actually his clothes were out of date.
Wow, I want to dissect this, talk it out, because through the first couple of paragraphs I was thinking that I wasn't sure I like the style, it was a catalog of senses and didn't quite flow but I have liked it more and more and that has grown even more since I stopped reading it.

Not understanding why, and because I’m an Author myself….I chose to support another fellow Author and give it a try….
I have to admit it truly isn’t my genre, but confused by the response…. Yes the subject could be viewed as shocking for those with whom such material isn’t a part of their reading material….. But I have to say it’s a truly well written short read, and truly as its synopsis states: “Dark, Sexy Hard Core, Erotic, Emotionally Breathtaking Forbidden realm of Desire”…. Between individuals who truly want to enjoy, partake and be where they are and who they want to be with experiencing ecstasy….. That takes them to a realm “Too Often Deemed Forbidden”……
I say Kudos to “Author Danny Rei/JVK” for writing what is of a Passionate Subject and Nature to her and for staying to her heart. Genre aside for the moment….. “This Is a Truly Triumphant and Excellent short read for Anyone looking to be taken to the very edge of the Forbidden….. The GLBT community should grab this up and make this one for the ages!!!! An Absolute 5 Star!!!!

Jax is one of Seven who belongs to the elite force & has done this since the age of 13. The war was like God was recreating the war between the demons & the angels. It was kill or be killed! The punishments were horrific!
In this world it wasn`t considered wrong to be attracted to the same sex. When Jax almost kills Gunn he leaves the kings force in search of the one with the glowing green eyes. There is something about this God that attracts him. Even when inflicted with pain he still wants more.

This book isn't something I normally read. I don't know if it was written by a man or a woman. The opening paragraph and how it set the scene was really good. But it left me wondering, is this the Fifty Shades of Grey???? I would have liked to have seen more passion, felt what both characters were feeling instead of one. I certainly would recommend the book.
