"...this world was no longer for the weak-minded."

This is the second book I have read by Nadege Richards and I was blown away once again! The first one left me wanting more and in this one, I got more than I asked for. Which is amazing!
I had no idea where the plot was leading me and I loved it! From the beginning, you see a change in Echo and it's an adrenaline-filled journey trying to uncover the reason behind it. Her character development is super satisfying as well. Badass female characters will never get old. This book also digs deeper into Echo's past and I loved getting answers to questions I've had. But Nadege doesn't just give us answers, she gives us even more questions as well. Which is fine with me because I am so no ready for this story to end!
We are introduced to newer characters and holy moly, I would be lying if I said I wasn't intrigued by a particular male whose name starts with a 'K'. That guys is... intense. I just want to uncover all his secrets like yesterday.
This story continues to be told in both Echo's and Ayden's POV's and I must bow to Nadege for that. Male perspectives are my weaknesses and I have it in this series! Ayden is spectacular, for lack of a better word. The love he has for Echo is palpable in every action he makes and every word he utters. I seriously need an Ayden in my life. He is a formidable fighter and a loyal partner. What else can I ask for in a guy?!
Anyway, I couldn't read this book fast enough. I knocked it out in one sitting and I'm just glad I own the next one because I would be going insane right about now!
The only slightly negative feedback I have is that it needed a tiny dose of editing. But even then, it didn't impact my reading experience whatsoever. This story has badass characters, intense fight scenes, and an overall heart-gripping plot. I never imagined the story would go the way it did but I am so glad I got it.
4.5 stars!

"Deceiving Destiny" the next book in the Bleeding Heart trilogy is a dystopian novel with a touch of fantasy that begins in Alwaenia after Echo Princess and Ayden Grey have fled New Haven during a rebellion that has left the city in chaos. As the story opens Echo, Ayden, and those willing to fight against the injustices that keep Old Haven in subjection are on the run from the forces of King Cyrus and Prince Noah of Delentia who want to destroy them. Afraid for the loved ones they've left behind they are determined to reach the King of Kylon to ask for his support and this means facing danger on a path that will lead them near the Black Marsh and through Xavian territory. In Echo's struggle to find a way to end the war and to save those she loves she will discover a power which extends beyond her skill as a hybrid, part Warrior and Hunter. As her love for Ayden grows Echo will also have to face an inherent yearning for the boy that haunts her dreams; one which could destroy her dreams for the future.

The story is even better than the last; the plot weaving together danger, adventure, and the complexity of love. As the plot progresses new insight into the personalities of the characters begins to evolve; Echo unyielding, protective of her new friends and her love for Ayden , unsettled about her craving for Kahl and her inclusion in his plans, Ayden resilient in the fight, struggling to leash his hatred for his supposed rival and Kahl secretive, troubled by his thwarted passion. In this sequel Feven begins to change from being morose and angry to developing a healthy respect for the Princess. Tamara, Giovanni's wife becomes a mentor and friend to Echo giving her wise advice while Isobeli 's more self-absorbed, arrogant, and annoying in her attempt to keep her cousin from a man she feels is inferior. But as Echo, Ayden and their friends grow more determined in their fight, their antagonists- Elei, Eliana, Caecilia and Filius- appear to be more callous inhumane, and vicious in getting what they want.

In "Deceiving Destiny" Echo, Ayden and their friends' strength, resolve and even their relationships are tested in the face of what seems like overwhelming odds. But as they cope with adversity, pain and conflict, there is always hope as mysteries and secrets begin to be unravelled. In spite of the odd spelling mistake, this story is enthralling and well worth reading. I enjoyed it immensely and look forward to reading the last book in the trilogy.

I started on this book yesterday and picked it back up this afternoon. Oh, I could hardly put it down especially when I got halfway through. This was even better than the first book. Echo is such an amazing character I love her. She reminds me of princess Jasmine and Maximum Ride. Echo isn't some damsel in distress she fights her own battles and fights for her people. Echo is headstrong and believes in doing what is right for her people as a princess. When I was reading some of the fight scenes in here I was totally blown away. I felt like I was sitting right there and watching it all unfold before me. I loved that Echo and Ayden didn't back down so easily. Most princesses in stories expect their prince to rescue them without lifting a finger. Not, Echo! She even got offended when Ayden wanted to take on three men and her only two. Now how many girls would be offended about that? Rarely any. Echo is the type of character who will pretty much do anything to keep her people safe and for her and Ayden's love. But there are certain circumstances where she was like "Yea, no I'm not doing that" and I thought that was a great realistic thing to have in the book. Most books are all like these two people will do anything to be together. Yes Ayden and Echo are like that, but they're more of the type to try and get out of a certain situation and still be able to have each other. Ayden and Echo are smart like that and I admire them and the relationship they have. They've overcome so many obstacles and brutal battles and yet they still prevail through it all. Echo was stubborn enough to say no when it needed to be said and she always came out on top. No matter how many times this couple was knocked down they got right back up. Even this creep Kahl who she shares an undeniable bond with stood in their way. This is the part where most girls in these YA books would get caught up in a love triangle. Not our, Echo. I must give props to you, Nadege on that! Echo, made it clear that it's her and Ayden all the way, but she does feel sorry for Kahl. The characters are what makes a book good for me and these characters have certainly done it. Hell, I even enjoyed Feven and her bitchy ways. The fight scene between her and Echo was amazing and not something unrealistic like Echo knocks her out with one punch. A great sequel to this trilogy and I can not wait for Fleeting Fires! I will be picking that one up as soon as it is out!

Deceiving Destiny follows in from Burning Bridges, and the first thing I instantly loved about this book is that it followed straight on from Burning Bridges and the story continued smoothly. One of the things I dislike about reading a series of books is when the first few chapters goes over explaining things I already spent a whole book reading about, but Nadege Richards avoided all that and I loved that.

I was looking forward to seeing the romance side of Echo and Ayden's story, what I wasn't expecting was the real responsibilities the couple take on, and how much their relationship matures in the short time they are together, whilst keeping a touch of their innocence mixed in there, too.

Speaking of maturing, I really feel that Nadege's writing itself has matured greatly. Without trying to take anything away from Burning Bridges, which I really enjoyed, Deceiving Destiny gave me a feeling that as Echo and Ayden were maturing together, so was Nadege's writing, which I personally thought was really good.

A standout point for me was the way the characters, especially some of the new ones, and the world that Echo and co are living in were so vividly written. A really good book is one that you can recreate in your own head and I found myself picturing things in my head very clearly.

The story keeps us going to the end. I had so many questions throughout that kept me turning the pages, eager for answers. Would Echo and Ayden keep the others safe? Would they reach Kylon and find allies? Just who is the boy with the amber eyes Echo keeps seeing in her dreams? And many more. I really needed to see how it all panned out and loved every page.

I really enjoyed Burning Bridges, but I loved Deceiving Destiny even more. I cannot wait to read Fleeting Fires to see how this story ends!

My Review~~
I love this haunting cover!! It makes me want to dive into the pages to find out why the model on the front is like that. After reading the first one, I was exceptionally excited going into reading this book. I'm glad that this book picks up where the 1st book left off. This book is even better than the first book and that is saying something because the first book was just amazing! Fast paced read with more depth to the characters Ayden and Echo. I'm loving the main characters! Echo is my type of princess! The switching POV's between the main characters lend a depth that just one can not. I'm seriously pumped for the 3rd book!!!! I can't wait to read it!. This is a fantastic read full of twists, turns, and loops that will leave you begging the author for more. Will Echo become the leader needed?

Deceiving Destiny is the second installment from The Bleeding Heart Trilogy. After reading Burning Bridges, I was left desperate for more, and Ms Richards did not disappoint.

Deceiving Destiny picks up right where Burning Bridges left off, and the transition is seamless. There's nothing worse than a sequel that spends half the book going over something I already know, and thankfully Ms Richards spares us this tiresome task. Almost instantly, I was immersed back in the lives and the journey of Echo and Ayden who are not just fighting for their own lives but for that of their friends and families. Echo has now grown into the role of princess, although she does not see herself that way, but she has accepted that others do. Echo is stronger than when we first met her. The people now look to her as a source of reassurance and guidance, and she lives up to this. I really wanted to see how the romantic relationship between Echo and Ayden was progressing. I love this aspect of the story.

I feel Ms Richards writing has matured along with her characters. I really enjoy the style of her writing; she gives just enough description that fires your imagination. Ms Richards does not insult the reader with unnecessary words and long winded descriptions nor does she pad out her stories, but instead, she makes every word count. When you purchase a Nadege Richards book, you know two things; firstly you're in for an excellent read and secondly you get complete value for money. The only bad thing is that I got through Deceiving Destiny so quickly that I have a long wait for the third installment Fleeting Fires, and I cant wait!

I give this book a full and well deserved 5 Bexstars! Well done Ms Richards another triumph!

I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review.
This is the second book by the lovely Nadege Richards in The Bleeding Heart trilogy that I have been lucky enough to read and review. This start of this book is exactly how I like series to continue, by starting off where the last book ended. Especially in cases like this, where the first book Burning Bridges left off right at a good part. The P. O. V. 'S still switch effortlessly between the two main characters perfectly. I love how this novel was so different from the first one, but still meshed seamlessly.
I feel that the characters have grown a lot in this book. Most of all Echo, because now she not only has to look out for her best interests but the interests of the whole group. The other members of their crew look to Echo for direction, she had to learn to be a great leader very quickly. She faced tough choices and had to stick by them even if it meant losing people in order to have a favourable outcome. Ayden is still a big part in the book, but mostly as Echo's support system as she learns the hard truths about her past and future. Theoughout the novel a few characters are lost, but we also gain a couple of main characters who will definitely shake the last book up.
Another great read from Nadege Richards and I would recommend this book and series to any Nadege fans and to any readers who love a adventure with a touch of dystopian thrown in. I feel that these books can and will be a huge hit. I am really looking forward to reading the last book and everyone check the series out and add it to your TBR piles.

"Deceiving Destiny" is amazing and definately worth reading. If you loved "Burning Bridges" you will definately love this one. "Deceiving Destiny" begins right where "Burning Bridges" ended. Ayden and Echo not only contine to fight for their lives but they have to fight for the lives of their family and friends. Echo begins to learn who and what she truly is but the question she now faces is can she and will she accept it. Will Ayden still love her the same when he finds out who she truly is and can she forgive her mother from hiding the truth. Echo's love for Ayden is tested when a stranger comes to her both mentally and physically. A stranger she doesn't seem to know or recognize but one who knows more about her than she realizes. This stranger and Echo seems to be drawn to each other and he wants her in more ways than one. How will Echo handle it when Feven is not willing to let go of Ayden. Feven wants more from Ayden but will Echo and Ayden still be able to fight for love while fighting a war. Will Echo and Ayden's love be enough to keep them together? "Deceiving Destiny" not only gives us the answers to who Echo is but makes her question if the fight she's fighting worth fighting for. This story is sure to keep you entertained and the pace never slows. You will not be able to book this book down, once you start you will be hooked. I cannot wait for the next and final book in the series "Fleeting Fires"

I received this book to give an honest review.
Deceiving Destiny picks up right where book one Burning Bridges leaves off. Only this time you get a lot of action. I enjoyed reading the P.O.V.'s point of view of Ayden and Echo. Though I did wonder about the poem that was put into the story as I did not really see what that had to do with anything.
One of the main characters Echo you can see has grown up a whole lot. She has learned that she not only has to take care of herself but others. And she has become so kind and worries about everyone else and puts them before herself. She has really grown in this story.
Her love for Ayden has grown intensely and you can tell that they both love each other very much in spite of everything going on around them.
Echo learns a lot about her past and who she truly is.
There are surprises, and twist and turns that you will not see coming. There are also new characters who will be introduced. Which is nice as we all love to have new characters come into play.
The love that Echo and Ayden has will be put to the test, but will it survive? Along the way what will Echo learn about herself and her past will it make her stronger or weaker? Well you just have to read to find out.
Make sure you read book one Burning Bridges and then this one so you are not lost on the characters or the plot of the story.
I totally recommend this book from YA on up as this is a darn good series.

"Our war for freedom was just beginning."

Oh how I love Ayden and Echo!!

"Our time together is limitless."

Deceiving Destiny starts off where Burning Bridges ends. Our lovely couple has fled New Haven and started a rebellion against the King and Noah.

I definitely loved this story more than the first for various reasons. I liked getting to know Ayden and Echo more as individuals as well as a couple. I felt in the first book there was no build up and they just fell in love. But now I can totally see why their love is so genuine. They truly are soul mates.

There was a bunch of action and adventure. Echo is so bada** and can hold her own as a woman. Not that we didn't see that fiery attitude in the first book. The thing I love most about her is that she is selfless and kind. Love her!

"You take two, I take three?" Ayden whispered to me, his back against my own.
I scoffed. "I'm offended. Think I can't handle three?"
"Must we argue about this right now?"

As always, Ayden is amazing and the perfect boyfriend.
"Never let me go", Echo whispered into my neck, twining her fingers in the hair at my nape.
"I don't plan to, princess. Not for a very long time."

Um, swoon!

This is a great set of books, if you haven't read the first one, go get it:)
Because you are so missing out!

This series just keeps getting better!! Echo and her group are on the run. While traveling to the house they hope will protect them, Echo sees the little girl again. She chases her and ends up bitten by a snake. Her dreams making her feel like shes losing her mind. Ayden has to suck the poison out and is trying to keep her safe. But he keeps thinking of the boy from the picture. Once they get to the house, they all start to relax. But when Echo awakens and finds herself alone she stumbles onto a lose board in the floor, in there is a key, a part of the map, and a book. The book is full of writing she doesnt understand. But then she is grabbed and lead outside to see everyone has been captured. They are taken to the underground world, where they are all split up. They have to figure out a way out. The King wants to know the future and needs Echo to help Kahl, the boy from the picture, the boy of her dreams. Both Kahl and Echo are seers. And the King is holding not only them but also Echo's mother and sisters. Kahl and the King agree to help the group as long as Echo will scry. But there is something else between Echo and Kahl, at power drawing them together, the craving!!

I cant wait to dive into book 3 and see where this leads. Each book draws you in more and more with each turn of the page!!

This is a great sequel to Burning Bridges and I must admit that I love the alliteration with the titles. I read this book even faster than the first, in fact, the only reason I gave this book 4 stars instead of the 5 that I gave Burning Bridges is because I had a little bit of a harder time getting into the story of this book. Although there was plenty going on in the first portion of the book, as it stands right now from what I've read in the series, not all of it seemed to progress the plot, which caused me some minor confusion as I was trying to keep a lot of extra events in my head if in case they were important.

Once I was into the story in this installment, I was lost. Actually, the kids at my work are gracious, because they got a little extra sleep since I was too enrapt in reading to realize it was time to wake them up. I love the idea of adding a love triangle beyond the one with Feven (Which I actually really enjoy), but I'm curious to see how the author will make me love this new character in the final book.

Once I finished this installment, I immediately purchased the last book. I should be reading it tonight at work, but hopefully I remember to actually do my job too. =P

Oh I loved this book more than the first one. I was so excited to see how far the characters have come. I was so happy that Echo finally came into her own and grew into a strong person who no matter what always did what was for the best, no matter how she felt afterwards.. Not only did she grow but you got to watch her and Aydens love grow also. They became one of those good power couples that took care of not only themselves but others also. They were so in love it made me feel all warm and fuzzy to see how these two were with each other.
Ah and then comes in her "dream" man Kahl, no really he is in her dreams. He still couldn't bring these two down. I loved how they were really just unstoppable, no matter what life seem to throw at them they came through it every time. Ok let me get off the love is great train now. This book was just well written and the action had me from the go(I love good action scenes). I just got so sucked into this book, just like the the first one. And it even had one of those ending that leave you wanting more. i can not wait for the final book, although I will be a little sad when it is all over.

How to sum this up in one word? Awesome. I have just finished reading this and I'm blown away.

Deceiving Destiny starts right where Burning Bridges leaves off. Echo and Ayden are no longer fighting just for their lives but for the lives of their friends and family too. I'm not going to go into details about what happens or doesn't happen in this book. If you want to know then you are going to have to read it yourself. But I can guarantee you will not be disappointed.

The Echo in this book is much stronger than the Echo we met in Burning Bridges, she has grown, and while she no longer see's herself as the Princess she accepts that this is how others still see her and that they look to her for guidance and reassurance and she is able to give them that.

This was THE best book to start my new year with and I am happy that I had that chance. If you haven't started reading The Bleeding Heart trilogy yet then you best get a move on.

"Deceiving Destiny” is the second book in The Bleeding Heart trilogy and it’s an excellent sequel. Ayden and Echo are as adorably romantic as always, but now there’s this mystery man who is haunting Echo’s dreams. Who is he? Kahl! I got to say I’m totally Team Ayden, but I love this new character. He’s daring and mysterious. Kahl has the answers to secrets that Echo needs to know. The story had me on the edge of my seat, enchanted and wanting more. Echo isn’t just a princess; she’s a fierce, strong Tigress who is ready to fight for what she believes in. She’s not some damsel in distress. Ayden and Echo are a power couple and so entrancing! I love seeing their story play out and get better and better! Many couples in other young adult novels are so dysfunctional and whiny, but these two are strong and determined. I’m very excited to see how it all ties together in the final novel, “Fleeting Fires.”

There are no words to really describe how much I enjoyed reading this book! From beginning to end, Deceiving Destiny has captured my attention just like Burning Bridges had!

The events that occurred during the whole book left me speechless and had me trying to read faster so I could find out what was going to happen next. Some things I never saw coming and was shocked at what was happening. My emotions started to come out a little as well while reading. I was able to picture everything clearly especially the fight scenes that occurred. They seemed so real and it's like they were happening right in my room.

This was a great read and something you're going to ask yourself why you didn't read it sooner! I can't wait to read the final book to this series to find out how this is going to end! Thank you so much for giving me an e-copy to read!

I LOVED EVERY WORD, EVERY LINE, EVERY ....EVERYTHING!

Deceiving Destiny is the second book in The Bleeding Heart trilogy and it’s an excellent sequel. Probably my fave from the series, so far. I liked it a lot. I loved this beautiful story! I felt in the first book there was no build up and they just fell in love. But now I can totally see why their love is so genuine. They truly are soul mates.

I really enjoyed Burning Bridges, but I loved Deceiving Destiny even more. I can't wait to read Fleeting Fires to see how this story ends! I can't wait to start reading next book. :D

Echo and Ayden continue right where they left off, their love seems to be as strong as can possibly be.They are no longer fighting just for their lives but for the lives of their friends and family too.

The Bleeding Heart Trilogy books are one of the best I read this year! I recommend 100%. <3

Deceiving Destiny
Book 2 in The Bleeding Heart Trilogy

Burning Bridges left me wanting more, so when Deceiving Destiny was finally released I couldn’t wait to read it. Only problem now is that I don’t want to wait for the final instalment in the trilogy.

This book starts off where the first book left off, and I was soon fully immersed again in Echo and Ayden’s journey. With so many more twists and turns, this story kept me gripped and I found myself completely lost in my imagination with the descriptive nature of the story. Well written and fast paced, I just couldn’t put this book down.

There is so much more to come from this trilogy, and from this author.

I received a copy from the author in return for an honest review.

Love Love Love it Nadege Richards did an amazing job on the stor line as well as the characters you can't help but fall in love with Echo and Ayden I loved that Echo had everything a person could have and was unhappy and wanted more in her life she did not want to marry and be a Queen she wanted more but it was when she meet Ayden and ran away did she see how bad people had it and she wanted to change that. This story had me in the first few pages when I read what this books was about I had hoped I would like it I loved the cover but did not think I would get so into it that I could not go to bed till I finished it I highly recommend this book.

Echo and Ayden continue right where they left off, their love seems to be as strong as can possibly be. There are a lot of different factors at work in this story and they all seem to be trying to pull Echo and Ayden apart. Kahl has pull with Echo, they are connected in a way that cannot be denied. How will this all play out? Will Kahl pull Echo away? How exciting can it get?
Again, I love this book, Nadege Richards has a wonderful way with words. I recommend this book to anyone, it’s a wonderful book. I can’t wait to read the third book, I need to see what happens. I give this book 4 stars.

This is the second book in this series and already after reading it, it's left me wanting more. Echo and Ayden can't seem to catch a break. I won't give away any spoilers because this book will grab you and hold you till the end. Their love is put to the test, honor is questioned, new abilities come into play and you are introduced to new characters. I promise you that if you read this book, after you have read the first, you will hooked automatically. I can't wait for book three.

Sent a copy by author for review.

Half way through (as of writing this) and absolutely loving it so far. The story follows on from soon after the first book ended, and there are some really interesting side plots it this book that give the reader a sense of mystery and intrigue which only makes you want to read the book even more.

Can't wait to read through till the end, and I'll give a full review once I've read the whole book.

Oh my God. This book is absolutely stunning! I wasn't prepared for the end to come yet, I want more. I can't wait to get my hands on Fleeting Fires. I love when the next book in a series is better then the first, and that's exactly what happened here. I was hooked around page one hundred. If you haven't checked this trilogy out yet, then you should. These are really good.

The fantastic second instalment of The Bleeding Hearts Trilogy, & oh what a book this is. An exciting & passionate read that is very well written & makes a seamless smooth read from Burning Bridges into Deceiving Destiny. I can't wait for Fleeting Fires to see where Echo & Aydens travels lead them ;) x

Loved it to pieces. The characters' love was believable and their journey was interesting to follow. Nadege's writing is very engaging and I seriously can't wait to read the next and last book of this trilogy and many more of her works to come!

I read Deceiving Destiny and recommend it! I really love Ayden, and I love hearing his point of view. There was a lot going on in this book that kept me guessing and entertained. Echo and Ayden grow closer, but will it last??
