She knew little about weddings, either, but in three weeks' time she was about to get married to safe, dependable, practical Julian. They didn't plan on children, just a nice, calm, platonic marriage. But then along came Harry March, one adorable baby, one cute four-year-old and all manner of trouble....
Harry March was definitely not safe--he was sexy, rude, impractical and utterly charming. He may have been best-man material but he wasn't Faith's type at all.... And as soon
Hi, I'm Liz Fielding, and I'm a best selling contemporary romance author with more than 15 million books in print and Katie Fforde wrote, when honouring me with the Romantic Novelists' Association's Outstanding Achievement Award in 2019 said - "Liz Fielding's books, with their warmth, humour and emotion, have charmed millions of readers. She is a true star of the romantic fiction genre..."
And now I've turned to a life of crime with my first cozy mystery. Murder Among the Roses, published on 18 April 2023 - of which Katie Fforde also said, "I was gripped from beginning to end..."
Reading is a big part of my life. I love witty, contemporary romances, not too much sex,, Women's fiction by the likes of Fiona Harper, Julie Cohen, Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Jennifer Crusie and Barbara O'Neal. And I love crime fiction that isn't too gory, or focussed on clue hunting, but is big on character.
My best loved series at the moment are the Ruth Galloway series by Elly Griffiths, The Rivers of London series by Ben Aaronovitch and the Libby Sarjeant Mysteries by Lesley Cookman. I've just read the first in the Georgina Drake crime series from Kate Hardy and looking forward to the next.

She would do anything for her aunt. Even work as a substitute nanny so that her aunt would get the much needed operation. But she was also in the middle of her own wedding preparations. The man she is helping us also one of her aunt's favorite child whom she took care of years ago. She's had a secret crush on him through the stories told about him. What happens when he finds out the groom hasn't really meet the bride.
This was a pretty good book. I liked the characters and the storyline. I just couldn’t get over the male character, Harry March, being so arrogant and self-centered. Harry and Faith had feelings for each other but with Faith being so faithful, she’s sticking to her planned wedding even though she hasn’t even met the man. Nice clean romance.
This is a charming fun romance. I love a smitten hero, and Harry is certainly smitten but Faith just thinks he's teasing and goading her. There are a few hilarious moments and some lovely romantic ones. I enjoyed Harry and Faith's journey to HEA.
Loved it. Great characters, and amusing with it. Harry was gorgeous I can't believe she was actually going to go through with that wedding though, the silly woman.
I love this author’s books but sorry this one was a huge disappointment.
We knew pretty early on she was entering into a marriage of - ? What? Convenience? Laziness? Faith and Julian hadn’t even met. She was prepared to go along with all his conditions, sell her precious car, no children and abandon everything that was important to her.
Then, worst of all, she was prepared to go on with the wedding - and if Harry, the hero hadn’t stopped it at the last moment, she would have. She would have married a man she didn’t love, whilst loving another and made three people unhappy. There was nothing romantic there.
Faith’s determination to go ahead wasn’t honourable or admirable, it was unfair to everyone and was almost as stupid as the groom being prepared to marry her despite not wanting to. What kind of marriage do they think they would have had? A lifetime of regrets and misery. The ending was so disappointing. I wanted Faith to have the courage to break it off, to tell Julian she couldn’t marry him. I wanted her to have agency.
The resolution only happened in the last few pages and I felt really let down.
LF writes like a dream and I still love her books - but this wasn’t for me I’m afraid.

Had a lovely time reading this little gem from Liz Fielding. Faith Bridges is not well named. She lost her faith in love and romance at 18 when her first love jilted her.
Funnily enough, Harry March jilted his bride around the same time. So she knew exactly the type of man he was. The only trouble is that he is lighting fires she thought went out years ago. Which is a bit of a problem if you are marrying Mr Safe as houses in three weeks.
Harry's niece Alice and nephew Ben are also a bit of a problem, reminding her of what she's going to miss out on with marriage to a man who insists there are already too many children on the planet.
This is an enjoyable romp with a gorgeous hero and likeable heroine. Lots of humour and sweet stuff with a nice touch of sizzle.
Faith Bridges is busy planning her wedding when her aunt calls her, desperately seeking her help. Little does Faith know that she is getting suckered. Her aunt is sending her to help Harry March, not knowing that he is in need of a nanny. Faith will do anything for her aunt, so stays on to help temporarily, even though she knows next to nothing about caring for and baby and a four-year old.
This book is in turns funny, charming and romantic. As Faith and Harry get to know each other, the feelings that grow between them have Faith re-evaluating her upcoming wedding, especially as she has never actually met her groom in person. Love truly does conquer all in this wonderful book. I am a big fan of Liz Fielding and this book is another gem.
Faith Bridges was planning her wedding when her Aunt ask for her help. She had an urgent call from Harry March ( she was his nanny) that he needs help right away. She can't go she is having hip replacement surgery so she asks her neice, Faith to go. Faith has a good heart so she promises to help. When she shows up she finds a baby screaming. She has no knowledge of children but she doesn't want to let her aunt down. Then she finds out he also is taking care of a four year old. She isn't sure what to do. This book has humor with the relationship between Harry and Faith. This book only had a 2.95 rating but I enjoyed it
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Blackmail, babies and some sneaky stuff, are conspiring against level-headed Faith. She's marrying a man she's never met and doesn't want kids, because love is a lie and passion dies. Or that's what she thought, until she met Harry. He was determined to prove to her otherwise. Like a cat and mouse Harry plays with Faith, preying on her passion and her love of kids. He can be very amusing, but she doesn't think so. Can he convince her before it's too late?
Harry was so controlling he was almost abusive. I am more interested in the book excerpted at the end about realtor Tasha For his eyes only as long as Tasha stays in control.
