Picking blackberries in a derelict garden with her little girl had the most unexpected outcome for Kay Lovell: first Kay was kissed by a tall, dark and brooding stranger, and then he hired her as his gardener! Kay did her best with the garden--and her cantankerous new boss, Dominic Ravenscar. He was obviously still dealing with the emotional scars from his past, but gradually Kay unearthed the real Dominic, the one who loved life and just wanted a family of his own....
Hi, I'm Liz Fielding, and I'm a best selling contemporary romance author with more than 15 million books in print and Katie Fforde wrote, when honouring me with the Romantic Novelists' Association's Outstanding Achievement Award in 2019 said - "Liz Fielding's books, with their warmth, humour and emotion, have charmed millions of readers. She is a true star of the romantic fiction genre..."
And now I've turned to a life of crime with my first cozy mystery. Murder Among the Roses, published on 18 April 2023 - of which Katie Fforde also said, "I was gripped from beginning to end..."
Reading is a big part of my life. I love witty, contemporary romances, not too much sex,, Women's fiction by the likes of Fiona Harper, Julie Cohen, Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Jennifer Crusie and Barbara O'Neal. And I love crime fiction that isn't too gory, or focussed on clue hunting, but is big on character.
My best loved series at the moment are the Ruth Galloway series by Elly Griffiths, The Rivers of London series by Ben Aaronovitch and the Libby Sarjeant Mysteries by Lesley Cookman. I've just read the first in the Georgina Drake crime series from Kate Hardy and looking forward to the next.

Two wounded people bonding over a garden that has been neglected. Kay Katherine is a single mother who made mistakes in the past. When she ventures into an abandoned garden she discovers grieving widower Dominic Ravenscar. The story is magical and moving and so sweet.
4 Stars! ~ Returning to his home after six years away, Dominic only wishes to put the house on the market and bury the past. Finding Kay trespassing in his wife's garden, for a moment it was as if it had been Sara. But that wasn't right because Sara was dead. Kay couldn't stop herself from rescuing the bushes in the apparently abandoned garden from the choking vines. When Dominic confronts her trespass, Kay put her hand forward and offers herself for the job of setting the garden straight. She sees the torment in Dominic and wants to pass on a healing touch; similar to the one she herself received when she was at her rope's end.
This is the story of overcoming tragic pasts. For Dominic, it's the loss of his pregnant wife, and for Kay, it's the loss of her youth and fear for her child. Together they learn to fight for life and love. I'm quickly finding that Ms. Fielding never disappoints. An awesome story.

Bagus banget. Cerita di bagian akhir menyedihkan, aku sampe nangis... Yah dasar emang aku cengeng sih.
