The size makes it a little impractical to wield, but that also gives you pages big enough for lots and lots of words and their illustrations, placed in categories where there is context, and where the details are so interesting the child will probably stick with it. Sure there are different kinds of houses and clothing, but also there are crayon, pencil, pickle, and banana cars, and not just the apple car but also the apple plane and the apple house, twice.

I was a little surprised at some of the British spellings.

True grandma skills - checked this out of the library with the Libby app, retrieved it from Amazon and opened it on Kindle with squirmy 10.5 month old on my lap and then read it to him. Faster than trying to get to the bookshelf and get another book. Haha

I love Richard Scarry. The pickle car will always be my favorite. Great book to put on the floor and go, go and go!

This is a whole lot of fun to look at with kids. There are so many drawings on each page--enough to keep little kids engaged for a few minutes per page. I really like Scarry's drawings especially the pickle cars!

I love Richard scarry. This book is great but our family favorite is the transportation book he did with a golden bud hidden on every page. I loved that as a child and my kids thinks it's the best as well!

This is part of my niece's Christmas present. This book might be taller than her - it is a 24" tall board book!

This book is as tall as a pre-schooler. Our kids loved lying on their tummies looking for Lowly Worm on every page of this giant book.

I love it because it's really big and my grandparents gave it to me. The story is funny.

This was one of my favourites when my children were young, and one of theirs as well. In fact, we consumed a cart-load of Scarry. Soon, I can start again with my grand-children!

One of my favourite books as a child. All his books were great; there was just so much going on in the pictures they could keep you amused for hours.

I love this book. A bit more advanced than Ezra can handle just yet but I know we will be reading it over and over as she develops.

Lowly's got mad skillz. Check it. A hat, a shirt, one shoe and no hands.
