Grasshopper Pie is a fun play on words that kids will really enjoy. Books like this really show how much fun it can be to create stories and poetry. The illustrations only add to the humor behind the words.

I would use this book in 1st through 4th to inspire children to write and think about word choice and ideas.

A book full of unique and fun short stories! Your beginning readers will enjoy this goofiness: a boy who brings grasshoppers for grasshopper pie, a story about a tickle monster, and an alien that lands in a bowl of soup!

Reading Levels: 1st - 3rd grades

Cleanliss: mentions a little boy that "put his tush on the seat."
