I liked it although it seemed a bit uneven. Will try more by this author.

This was a good story. I really like Ryan. I had mixed feelings about Jared but he came through in the end. This is the first story I've read by this author. Based on this book I might try something else by her.

Ryan is 22 years old and has been on her own since she was 17. Her mother was killed by and Ryan was almost raped by her stepfather, who is now in prison for his crimes (but has threatened her with retribution). She was saved from him by Jared, a state trooper and friend of her

The author provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This book started out really strong. Right off the bat you get a strong sense of the history and chemistry between Ryan and Jared. The age difference between them has caused Jared to treat Ryan like a little sister for most of her life. He has a strong sense of responsibility toward her, since her life has not always been a bowl of g

The story started off strong and moved along at a fairly good pace. It was clear from the start that Ryan was in love with Jared, an older man who had been a protective big brother to her for many years.

Jared, a bitter, grieving man, spends a lot of time during the course of the story trying to convince himself that he doesn't need Ryan. This all makes for some great chemistry between the two characters.

I really wanted to give this story 5 stars, but I will explain why I didn't.

Really good romantic suspense mystery. Ryan is a strong woman who has overcome tragedy and terrible things in her past. She has very strong feelings for Jared, a New York State trooper, who is her friend, protector and her landlord. He is leaving in two weeks to take a new job away from the area and all she wants is for him to acknowledge that she is a fully-grown woman who knows what she wants. Jared is single but has his own ghosts from his past that keep him from wanting to start anything at ...more

I couldn't resist getting this book. I have lived in New York State and have known a few troopers. They are very awesome people.

In this book Ryan O'Conner has a stalker who is escalating. She lives in the carriage house on Jared Blake's property. Jared is a State Trooper and also Ryan's brother Pat's best friend.

Now Jared has quite a few personal issues, and part of his solution for them is to accept a new position away from Lake George where he has lived his whole life. He's thinking that dista

This is definitely a book of sister in love with brothers best friend but we don't have the flash backs, it is in the here and now which I like. Ryan has always loved Jared but he is older and has already lived and lost in life and isn't interested in anything new or long term as he is finally getting the chance to do a new job that he has already given up on once before. Ryan tells herself it will just be for 2 weeks then he is gone and she basically just needs to get him out of her system, unf ...more

Everyone deserves a HEA even a man who doesn't think he's capable to love again.

This was such a cute, fun, sexy, sad, mildly suspenseful book. In Two Weeks is the first book of Jen Talty's that I have read but based on how much I enjoyed it, I'm going to continue with this series. This book is about Jared, a NY state trooper that thinks his job and career are the most important thing in his life. He's been friend's with Pat and his younger sister Ryan most of his life. Ryan had been in love with

I obtained this free e-book from Amazon and I am voluntarily writing a review. Ryan has had a pretty tough road in life but always looking out for her was her brothers' best friend Jared. Now in two weeks he is leaving and taking a new job in Rochester, New York as a Detective on the police force there and he will never know how much he means to her. Ryan has somehow acquired a stalker that is escalating in aggressiveness and Jared is under pressure to catch the guy before he has to leave and no ...more

Loyalty

This was a good second chance with a healthy dose of a crush on her brothers best friend. This is one of those where he is trying to be a good guy but is passing up on a good thing. I was happy that they got together because they made it seem flawless. I guess it should have been that way since they knew each other for so long. However I didn't understand the dynamic and was pretty mad at the brother. The author made him seem like a loser throughout the story. Overall it was cute and supe

In Two Weeks

Another engrossing story from Jen Talty, I enjoyed it from start to finish. I did work out who the stalker was, so not a lot of suspense there, but it didn't wreck the story for me. Now for the next in this series.

This was an ok story. I liked Jared more than Ryan. I’m not a big fan of my main characters doing the “horizontal mambo” for purely physical. I know that each of them inwardly are in love but vocally they were just having sex. Not my fav.

This book just drawers you in and makes you keep turning the pages.. Couldn't put it down. Strong stubborn male that can't figure out he needs to be loved..

In Two Weeks is a story of two characters Ryan and Jared trying to move on with their lives. Both has suffered a life changing events from their pasts. Jared lost his son six years ago and it still haunted him. He went into law enforcement to save lives and being unable to save his son was not acceptable to him.

Ryan was nearly raped by her stepfather and had to sit through the trial. She was able to move past that ordeal. Since her brother is best friend with Jared and since Jared also saved her

Ryan is a strong woman who has been getting death threats. Jared is the State Trooper who is handling her case but he has also been a friend of Ryan's since her childhood and is very protective of her. Jared is used to being in charge all the time but Ryan battles him about his bossiness.

They become physically involved but Jared says it is just sex. Ryan says she agrees with him but secretly feels more strongly for him than she is willing to admit.

Jared is checking out all people who are suspect

I don’t often fail to finish a book, but this is definitely one of those that I could not finish.

The story itself is one we’ve seen before. It can be done well, but it doesn’t quite get there for me. The FMC consistently asks the MMC “Why?” and then tells him that he doesn’t answer her questions. It’s done so much so that it’s a thing. The FMC also asserts often how she is an adult and not a child, but it’s hard to tell that from the book. Yes, she has a good job, but it doesn’t feel like she’s

I have to admit, I don't really know how to approach this. It was an ok'ish book, but it wasn't really a page turner.

Ryan (a woman!) has a stalker, her very good friend Jared is a state trooper and is "on the case". They've known each other since early childhood, but now that Jared is leaving "in two weeks" for another position, Ryan's wish is to sleep with him "just once".

The story is interesting as such and has a few interesting twists in it, but there were too many characters, not properly in

This was a fairly entertaining story. It was a little “angst driven” for me. The constant “ Oh I love him/her but we cant be together “ went on for way too long and really dragged the story down. I liked the main characters ,Jared and Ryan. They were well written and likeable. The secondary characters were fun and interesting. The mystery was a pretty good one. I liked the twist and turns that kept you guessing. There was also an interesting back story on Ryan and one for Jared as well. However ...more

This book was pretty decent. It was a very interesting read. I really liked the characters and I thought that Ryan was very interesting and I love a strong willed woman because let me tell you if I was going through what she was going through I would have freaked. The reason I only gave this book 3 stars is because the ending was so predictable and I could read Jared completely I knew what he was going to do. Now I did love the Tom -- part of the story. Pretty good book!

I am sorry, but I did not enjoy this book. I got it because I am from upstate New York and enjoy mysteries with a small romantic plot, but I got extremely sick of almost every page detailing the intense sexual tension/ attraction between the main characters that I found myself not wanting to continue nor caring who was threatening the main character. I was disappointed.

This author is new to me. But, I will definitely be checking out her backlist.

In Two Weeks is a friends-to-lovers romance with a bit of suspense. The suspense element was nicely plotted and the romance was sweet.

Definitely recommending.

I received a free copy from storycartel.com in exchange for a review.

I enjoyed this book. It was too predictable on what Jared would do in two weeks after he parted from his lover, but the story made me smile. The love scenes were well-written.

Jared and Ryan

A good start to the New York State Trooper Series about the state troopers and the women they love. This is truly a romantic suspense read with intrigue, drama, mystery, friends, and family involved. A good read.

Cute (and steamy!), fast read. Romance w/mystery & suspense. I enjoyed this book more than the other in the series (Dark Water). I felt like these characters had a slightly more believable background for the development of their relationship.
