Delightful erotica. I thoroughly enjoyed this series. None of it is high art and every major couple is basically the same couple, but it did an excellent job of helping me forget the terrible shades of grey series which I finally gave up on.

Simplemente excelente. Una saga con una buena historia de fondo. Con personajes complejos y escenas sexuales bien descritas que estimulan la imaginación del lector.
Más de una escena sera apuntada en las próximas fantasías sexuales del lector

I read the three-book trilogy in one massive book, so my overall rating is based on averaging all of the star ratings.

I’ve reviewed each book individually below.

Before I dive into each, I think it’s important to dive into some reoccurring themes for the series.

1. The author LOVES a WMM pairing which was surprising to me because I started reading this without knowing. Honestly, I enjoyed that because it’s still taboo so having that be the focus is fun.
2. She is also very obsessed with eroticizing the other — there’s a lot of stuff that the characters derive from Turkey or India. I don’t love that part because I tend to stay away from themes that fetishize those cultures. It makes sense given the regency period but stilll

TW: Trauma, sexual assault, bondage,

I felt like the protagonists fell into each other too quickly, and it ended very abruptly. Right when the main issues were resolved…. The end. I felt like this one could’ve gone longer to give a better sense of closure to the main storylines ESPECIALLY as the book that kicks off the series.

However, I did enjoy the overall premise — the romance and erotica was really enjoyable. It had an enemies to lovers vibe without being too stuck on the enemies part.

Listen, I am sympathetic to Abigail but my GOD is the girl a stage five clinger. I did not care for her.

SPOILER TERRITORY:

The one thing that really drove me bananas was the lack of continuity. In the first book Peter tells Valentin that the reason he can’t marry is because he’s really into men. That’s his main preference. I know sexuality is a spectrum, but they played up how important being in a relationship with a man was to Peter only for him to end up with … Abigail.

Honestly, I would’ve rather he stayed with Sarah and Valentin, that pairing made way more sense to me. Not to mention that I felt like he completely dismissed Sarah and there was no resolution to their end of the spat.

Sex is overdone!

I enjoyed the stories. But all of them ended abruptly. Erotica is enjoyable but boring when each sexual encounter goes on and on. The plots and story lines are very good and hold your attention. I'll read more from this author but request less pages of description of each sexual encounter.

Really stunning

I loved the unusual aspects they included into the sex scenes, made it into old fashioned England and I couldn't get enough. I'm going to buy the rest of her books now!

I have mixed feelings about this author. I commend her for incandescently hot, creative, and boundary-pushing sex scenes, as well as some fresh, interesting plots that escape the tired formulas of so many HEA novels.

Unfortunately, I was thrown out of the stories repeatedly by the bizarrely inept dialogue and internal monologues that resulted in frustratingly inconsistent character dynamics. Aside from the author's tin ear for period-appropriate language (and the dance of manners that makes early 19th century literary conversations so delicious), it felt like the characters had prepared for their scenes with a few dramatic lines to recite at each other, delivered them without actually comprehending the responses before they spoke their next line, and sometimes even made back-to-back self-contradictory statements. Then, still without thinking at all about what the other person had said, they would be offended at each other and stalk off to mourn the state of their life and relationships.

It makes me sad that a better editor wasn't brought in to whip these okay books with good bones into a really captivating series.
