This book is a "take along" when you have an appointment and you must wait, when you're standing in line at the post office, or when you're in the car pick-up line for your first grader. Filled with over 100 gentle short stories, anecdotes, poems, and quotations, the reader will find something to cheer and encourage in the sometimes frustrating moments of waiting--and that might include those times when you can't fall asleep.
Alice Gray does indeed provide nourishment for the heart and soul.
I bought this book when I was a Christian teenager and I enjoyed it much as I enjoyed ‘chicken soup for a teenage soul’. It’s heart warming and mushy and cozy. I’m now a Muslim, so some of the Christian element is uncomfortable, but I still hold on to this book because it gives me that “feel good” feeling. If you’re a fan of ‘chicken soup’ type books and inspirational religious books, you’ll enjoy this.
A heart warming collection of short stories about family and relationships. Coupled with scripture references, reflections and poems, this is one book I will definitely be rereading in future.
Only read the Robin Jones Gunn pieces, "The Wish Beneath My Pillow" and "The Father's Pleasure." As usual, got a glimpse of the Father from her words and her heart.
