This is a story of a man from the 1920's who travels to the present after he is betrayed by a friend and almost murdered. He is shot at and jumps from a bridge in the 1920's and is pulled from the water in 2001 by a pregnant woman who has just discovered her husband has been cheating on her with her best friend. The story covers Charlie's attempt to come to terms with what has happened to him, traveling 80 years in the future and all of the changes and dealing with the aftermath of the betrayal by someone he trusted and his feelings towards Suzanne, the woman who pulled him from the water. Suzanne is dealing with the extraordinary story Charlie has told her, wanting to believe him, but afraid to and at the same time dealing with the betrayal of her husband and best friend and her growing feelings for Charlie and taking care of a newborn baby boy.

Not my favorite by this author, but die-hard fans of time travel stories may enjoy it.

Time travel is new for me. And...I'm hooked!! This book was exceptional - throughout the story, you never knew how it would end. It wasn't until the very last chapter that Constance reveals how this story would end. She kept me interested and reading every chance I got. From the beginning, I knew this one was going to be one I'd never forget. Looking forward to reading another of her time travel adventures.

Constance O'Day-Flannery may be called the Queen of Time Travel Romance for a good reason. This was a great story. I liked it for a couple reasons. Usually a woman goes back/forward in time. This time it is a man. I especially like when a character comes forward in time as does Charles in this book. And something I liked about this book that I've not seen before is that the person comes forward not quite 80 years so that his arch-enemy that caused him to time travel is still alive and he gets to confront him and rectify the wrong that was done to him. That was a pretty cool twist. Especially since Charles is still a young man and his enemy is old and on life support in a rest home. There are many plot twists in this that make it a very good read.

Marvelous

I rarely give a book 4 stars but this one deserves them. The story of Love through time was wonderful. Watching two people from 2 different eras find each other was lovely. And making a crime 75 years old be corrected gives hope to all looking for justice in their lives.

Hard to put down it is so good!

A most unusual time travel romance. Really well put together and thoroughly enjoyable! I usually don’t read time travel romances but this one I thoroughly enjoyed.

Excellent story!

Really enjoyed this story. Most time travel books I've read involved a woman but this was a man who time traveled. I couldn't stop reading it! No editing errors and written with maturity. Read it, you will be glad you did. One of the best I've read! 🙂

It was interesting to see how the time traveller adapted to his current situation. But the dialogue was stilted and the story, in general, was all right but not compelling.

Great read!

It’s not an overly complicated story line, so it’s easy to follow. The characters are realistic and well developed. It’s a great read.

Nice story, bit long at the end but wrapped up nicely. Don't feel like immediately reading another novel by the same author, but time will tell if i ever do.

Left heavily pregnant and alone after husband ran off with her best friend, the heroine goes down the river to contemplate her life and her future only to find herself in labor. Typical of a movie pregnancy, the labor is hectic and urgent and over in about 1 hour. Very unrealistic but during this crisis, she finds a man in the river and saves his life. He’s obviously lost and has strange clothing and speech but he’s her only of of getting to the hospital in time.

The hero is struck stupefied to find himself in a strange new world but he’s level headed enough to calm his himself and solve the problems. He’s very clever and is eager to learn about his new surrounds and manages to drive the lady in distress to the doctors. After the baby is born, the heroine is distraught over the magnitude of her new responsibilities but the hero’s calming nature proves to be her salvation. Because it’s clear that the man has nowhere to go, she hires him to help her around the house with her new baby. They settle into a comfortable life based in friendship and companionship and more than a little sexual attraction. The hero is not your typical time travel character as he’s calm and reasonable and involves himself to suit his new surroundings. I enjoyed him and how he treated the heroine. He boosts her low self-esteem and confidence and she’s able to get over her scumbag husband. Eventually the hero finds himself getting restless. He’s not used to being so dependent of anyone else, letting alone the woman he desires. It makes him feel less of a man and he leaves to earn his own way. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will read it again in a second if given the choice.

This was a great story! I enjoyed everything. The only thing I was kind of iffy about was the situation at the end of the book with Ingrid. I just would not be able to do what Suzanne did with her, but other than that I loved it.
Update: it still bothers me that she decided to be friends with Ingrid (God that's a horrible name for a horrible person) after she ruined her life for multiple years. It's one thing to forgive her, but it's another thing to be friends with a snake. I wouldn't want to be anywhere around this girl and I wouldn't trust her as far as I can throw her. Plus Ingrid constantly needs reassurance in life and quite frankly I think Suzanne is way too good to be in her presence. This is the reason it loses a star. The good thing is that she moves to Ireland so she won't have to see Ingrid any more.

This book was a sweet and touching love story but I feel it went on a little too long.Although I enjoy time travel romances, I'm quite picky about them. They have to have a certain feel and all the right elements in place for me to really get into them and this story was a bit off somehow. I think what bugged me is that it was never explained to my satisfaction exactly why Charles was sent 75 years into the future and by whom except vaguely that it was fate. That would probably be enough to satisfy many readers of romance novels but I need more than that. Enjoyable story but not one that will deeply stick with me.

Standing on the edge of the New Jersey shoreline in 2001, very pregnant Suzanne McDermott is reeling from the shock of her husband leaving her, when she spots a man who appears to be drowning in the nearby river. The last thing Charles Garrity remembers is jumping off a bridge to avoid being shot by his former best friend...in 1926! Suzanne and Charles begin to count on each other to get them through the difficult situations they both find themselves in, despite the unbelievable circumstances that have brought them together.

A recently abandoned woman is about to give birth when a stranger washes upon the shore of a river in New Jersey - and a surprise he is from the year 1926 and the present time is 2001. An excellent love story - even though it deals with time travel the story is totally believable. I enjoy books by this author.

A well written time travel. I love when the men come forward in time. The first thing most of them do is want to drive a car. They are amazed at the speed. A heartwarming love story. This is a keeper for me.

Good Love Story

This is a time travel love story. A young man is sent forward in time to a young mother. Both have been betrayed by friends and have to sort out their lives. Very realistic characters and situations.
