Tegemist on minu arust praeguseks veidi iganenud raamatuga. Vähemalt see, mis minul, kasutas andmeid kuni aastani 1919.
Aga igatahes sain ma teada, miks just Šveitsist kujunes šokolaadimaa.

it was interesting to find out about the process and extraction of chocolate… but Christ is this a product of its time.
the whole book spoke about slave labour being “a thing of the past” (this was written in 1920) and provided horrible descriptions of the natives of the lands. it did make me laugh with how stupid some of the claims were, for instance when he writes that the native workers who extract the cocoa beans would often laugh and have a joyous time at work😐 were you there, Arthur? Would enslaved people who were forced into this labour really be having a happy time? Come on

This book will give you a snapshot of both the chocolate world and the world at the time. Some things in chocolate have stayed the same, but many have changed. There are a lot of colonialistic undertones. Unless you are heavy into chocolate and its history there are more interesting books on chocolate to read

A very comprehensive book just about everything under the title, in almost professional depth. The information seems very authoritative, referencing many professional publications. Baring its age, it seems a perfect reference source for the subject.

A quick book of choclate cultivation

I listened to the Librivox edition of this book. It was well read, and interesting enough to keep the attention.
