His memories of the various places he visited were the best parts of all in the whole book. It would have been wonderful if he had written other books. He was a very accomplished writer--the man behind the singer does standout clearly. A brief but enjoyable read.

A beautiful wee book. Obviously written for the American market, but no better author than Tommy Makem (very much the Elvis of South Armagh) to provide a concise overview into the folklore, poetry and song of every bit of Ireland from Derry Quay to Bantry Bay.
