She debuted in 1987 with Natsufuku no Erii (Jap: 夏服のエリー) on the manga anthology Bessatsu Hana to Yume published by Hakusensha.
She is best known for her gothic manga works, such as the Earl Cain series (Jap: 伯爵カイン, Hakushaku Cain) and Angel Sanctuary (Jap: 天使禁猟区, Tenshi Kinryōku)
Her work is typically serialized in one of Hakusensha's two shōjo manga anthologies, Bessatsu Hana to Yume and Hana to Yume. In 2010, Kaori Yuki was one of many manga artists whose work would appear in the new shōjo manga anthology Aria by the publisher Kodansha on July 28, 2010.
Her doujinshi-ka name is MoonClock.

The Art of Angel Sanctuary is a lovely collection which shows all the different facets of the original series - artworks depicting the characters' comical sides, beautiful but also grotesque illustrations that mirror the twisted side of the story. Kaori Yuki has a very distinct style that, while not always exactly what I would consider my ideal cup of tea, stuns with its intricate details and originality.
In addition to the coloured illustrations, there are also several of the black and white chapter covers. But not only does this artbook feature Angel Sanctuary illustrations, but also has some pages dedicated to illustrations from other works such as Neji, Sareki Oukoku and The Cain Saga - the latter which sadly I have never read.
This is a gorgeous artbook and a great treat to any who enjoy either her art or stories!

SO beautiful. There are so many skilled manga artists out there, but Kaori Yuki always stands out. This was the first artbook I bought and I find myself fascinated by the beauty of her work again and again.

A feast for the hungry and thirsty Japanese art lovers!
To get a hold of this jem is quite a little miracle for me, after almost 20 years trying to acquire it! (Yes, 20 years – let’s say I was a little too young to be diving headfirst into Yuki-sama’s twisted world.)
I can’t put the blame on pure nostalgia – up to this day, there’s no other mangaka as Kaori Yuki for me! Not only her art is breathtakingly gorgeous, but also the characters, their development, the storytelling are equally as mesmerizing and complex.
She definitely has that gift – to coin the twists and turns that play on the readers’s most delicate strings. Her stories are alluring: both frightful and captivating, beautiful and cruel, heart-breaking, but funny, profound – and absurd – at places.
And all that just proves to be the perfect mix for my little disturbed soul!

I was never that into Angel Sanctuary as a series. I had a friend that was, but I could never really get into in because I had difficulty connecting with the characters. However, I always loved the art. The art in this book is especially what drew me to it. Mostly it contains the art that was on covers or in between chapters. Truly this is the best of Kaori Yuki’s work.

I wish I could use pastels half as good as Kaori Yuki -I love the picture of Setsuna wearing the suit with his wings sticking out looking all sad!

Beautiful artwork. Angel Sanctuary is my favorite manga. Naturally, I had to have the art books.
