Adequate rhymes and bright pictures for the poor preschoolers who have been shoved into microsoccer even though they're almost too small to hold the ball without falling over. Soccer information and history in smaller italic type offer something for older kids who read this while they are riding in the minivan to yet another practice.

Soccer Counts! is a counting story. The reason I know that is because it includes the numbers on each page. I like this story because it includes a topic that some students may connect to and a topic that they may like. I would use this story as a book to learn with and a book my students can independently read.

I like McGrath's storybooks, but I shouldn't have bothered to get her educational books. This has potential for the right audiences, but doesn't do anything for me.

My kiddo enjoyed the short version text but was too young to really listen to paragraph information.
