My son is now almost 17. (2021) This was his favorite book as a new reader. I need to make sure I have these things socked away in my digital memory bank which is way more reliable than my own memory bank.
This is a good book for emergent readers. It would be best for pre-k to first grade. This book is about a bear named Fred who loves to play on his sled. One night Fred wants to play before dinner but his Mom won't let him. Once Fred's parents are asleep he sneaks out and meets up with his friends to play. Fred decides to leave to go home but gets lost on his way home. He follows the sound of his Dad snoring and when he gets home his Mom is waiting for him with a cup for hot coco. He then falls asleep with his sled. In the classroom you could use this book in the winter time to talk about winter activities.
Not the greatest story ever written. It is designed for beginning readers so the word choice was most appropriate for that age group. A little bear wants to sled, but his parents are asleep. He leaves the house anyway and meets a friend. After getting lost he listens for his father's snoring to guide him home.
Lots of rhyming words to help your kid start reading. Level 1. Story about a bear who doesn't want to hibernate, but go sledding. I really liked the words they chose to rhyme and try to help your child become more familiar with different words.
Young bear stomps up stairs after parents say he can't sleep with his sled. Then he sneaks out at night and goes sledding with friends. When he comes back home, he gets hot chocolate and is allowed to sleep with his sled.
