They were thought of fondly in ancient Irish history, known for protecting people lost in the forest. They also served Celtic kings and were granted tracks of land for this service.

I doubted between 3 and 4 stars, but the characters won and it became 4 :)
What I loved about this book is that it again had great characters. It was a very interesting dynamic between Francis and Aran, for me it worked. I also liked that you got to see the characters from the books before this one. Especially seeing Dillon and Eric again was a plus, because I felt the book about their relationship ended too soon to understand what their future would be.
What I liked less was the violence in this book and the character Kailum. For me personally, there was a bit too much violence. I also couldn't like Kailum at all, and the idea that he probably gets his own book... I don't think I can see him as a main character that I want to have a happy ending, he was just too much of a bad guy in this book. I also think Corey will get his own book, looking forward to that!
And again I like the way the shifter theme is handled in this book. No sex while in shifted form this time, but again a great acceptance of Aran’s wolf side, no “eek the wolf is licking me to heal me”, Francis is mated to a wolf and accepts him as such.
