For a textbook on English, I received quite the history lesson. I feel that I learned more about world history in just these 13 chapters than I ever did in any history class in my educational career.

This book has very complicated terms regarding the English language. It is difficult to read if you do not have an extensive background in language and grammar studies. The history sections are somewhat interesting, but are very condensed and difficult to read. Although I learned a few things from this book, I did not have fun reading it.

had to read for one of my college classes but i actually read the entire thing and enjoyed every minute of it. i wish i had read this book way earlier in my education journey because it would have helped me so much with a bunch of my other classes.
